One of the best places for brunch in San Francisco! Thanks to Sully and Kate for being great hosts. Great food and the glasses are never empty.
Very good food, as always !! Tried some seafood dishes and they were absolutely delicious ! However, it was a little bit cold in the table we were as there was the AC coming out exactly where we were dining .. we put a jacket on and overall the experience was great ! Absolutely recommended
Excellent food and service!
The butter chicken was spectacular!
We were seated per our reservation - no waiting. Food was wonderful and service was quick. You can ask for milder versions of the traditional dishes that are just as tasty!
Good food, convenient location and great atmosphere for a nice evening dinner.
The ambience is very hip and classy and the service is fantastic! The food is good but seems a little overpriced with everything being ala carte (including the bread). Definitely worth a visit for a special occasion but wouldn’t be my go to Indian food on a regular basis.
Excellent food and service.
VERY disappointed. I had eaten here once before and had a good experience so brought my son who was visiting from Canada as we both love Indian cuisine. The seabass appetizer was very tasty. However, the lamb korma and tandoori chicken was mediocre at best, but the real reason I gave a low score to the food and overall was that within a half hour of leaving the restaurant both my son and I experienced severe gastrointestinal issues that clearly were caused by the food we had just eaten. We had to truncate our plans for the rest of the evening and head home so we could stay near a bathroom. We both continued to have issues throughout the night.
One of my favorite places and it always delivers! Probably the best Indian restaurant in San Francisco (including dosa).
Great atmosphere and menu selection. The butter chicken was amazing and did not disappoint. The tandoori chicken was just OK. Garlic naan was good. Overall it was too expensive for the amount though the quality was on point. The prices seemed a few dollars more than what open table lists, so expect to pay about $25 per entry not including rice or naan. The rice and naan ranged from $3-$5. Definitely more expensive than most Indian places but fancier from my experience. The quality is still as great as it was over 3 years ago!
Great food. Good flavors and spice level for all types of consumers.
When I come in to town for work I Love to dine at Amber India. Good food, GREAT service and Irina my server was very attentive.
The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
Overall value for $35/ person was not there.
One of my favorite stand by restaurants in the city!
There was a bone in my boneless chicken. Threw off every bite after.
Great place to celebrate anything, or just to bond with friends and family!
Great Indian restaurant and the buffet for lunch was tasty! Not a lot of meat options but hey...it's an Indian restaurant so it was all good. It's near the Moscone so during conferences it's pretty packed. Service was good and staff was pleasant.
One of the best curries in the US, never disappoints and always on the list when in SFO
Food was good but overpriced. Our server didn’t get us our drinks for a half hour. Our appetizer came first.
We ended up thinking that everything was good but it was expensive for what we got. We also discussed that it may because it’s in San Francisco. :-)
Great food! Great options for vegetarians! The food is fresh and tasty. They have good dessert options.
Nice meal with family. Very good butter chicken.
Excellent quality of food, service and ambiance! The menu is more pricey than a 'typical' Indian restaurant, but this is a high-end experience reflected across the board. The curry dishes are phenomenal - we had Rogan Josh lamb and the Masala chicken. The chaat is a real gem - great starter dish. Every time I'm in SF, I go here for client entertainment or with friends and family.
One of the Indians in my group (besides me) said this is the best Indian food in SF. I haven't tried many others, but overall, it is very good. The buffet has a great balance of veg/non-veg as well as meats including fish and chicken.
It was great
I love Amber India and go here to have different and spicier options than Dosa. Usually I love this place but the last time we went the service was painfully slow and our waiter "disappeared" (not sure where he went, and we kept needing to repeat our order and requests). Also the white chicken meat we ordered had a ton of small bones in it, which just seemed like poor preparation and it's certainly not fun watching my friends choke on the bones. I really think (..or hope) this was more of a one time failure rather than a routine experience, because otherwise I think the food is different, spicy, and definitely worth it.
A very nice evening and dinner with an interview candidate. The food and service were excellent.
Love this place! Flavorful! Great service!
It was a very wonderful evening as it was a special occasion. Ambiance, food and the service was very good as expected. It is always one of my favorite places to go for having lunch or dinner. Thank you.
Champagne buffet Indian lunch for $25/person in downtown SF with lots of variety of both vegetarian and non-veg dishes. This is great value.
The host was rude
Fabulous Indian Food! Great service! Fine tables! Will be back!
Good ambience, bad food!! This place is pricey, that is fine but the taste of the food is not even close to indian food. If i heat my togo food the day after, i assume that will taste better.
Ambience is good for an indian restaurant but everything else, including service is bad. I had higher expectations from this place, but it was an utter disappointment. Breads were frozen ( no fresh breads), curries were spice-less and sweet. Not even close to good indian food. Big no, if eating good indian food is on your mind.
Delicious, as usual. My only negative is that it's a tad pricey, but I don't mind paying more for excellent food.
Good Indian dishes with some creative twist. Getting a table took some time past the reservation time but once seated it was a good experience
Excellent Indian restaurant, the best of SF. Food is authentic and of great quality, beer is good, ambience is nice.
The Chicken Biryani rice is excellent, same (if not better) than the best restaurants in Hyderabad.
Best Indian food we’ve ever had, and that’s saying A LOT. The wait service was one of the best we’ve ever experienced as well. But, for the first time, we went with a stroller, only to learn that they don’t allow strollers. We had a travel stroller that did not allow the seat to be removed, and our 6 month old is too small for a high chair. They ended up going out of their way to accommodate us, but just be forewarned, don’t bring a stroller in the future.
Best classy Indian buffet (lunch) in town. They always have a live cooking station, love their appetizers and deserts.
