Horrible food. Nothing authentic or traditional - please skip
Lovely people served and interacted with us , the food was amazing.
This used to be our goto place. Visited here the first time after COVID and the dishes we used to love did not taste good. Will come back again to make sure this was a one-off but our experience was not great.
Amazing Indian food - especially Organic Dal Amber and Samosas/Samosa Chaat.
Wonderful restaurant! Absolutely delicious.
Delicious cocktails, outstanding menu that delivered beyond expectations, gracious service. This has been one of our first forays into indoor dining since the pandemic, and it was a great choice.
It's part of getting back up to speed but Amber was short of staff but not in the kitchen since the food was as good as always. It's one of my favorite restaurants but is now too close to the techies and AI people who aren't always the politest or most respectful of others.
The food was good. A bit overpriced but I do not like the 6-7% added charge in the city for employee benefits on top of the high sales tax and tip. It all almost adds up to 30-40% above the food bill.
I normally have the Lamb Chops but, tonight I had the Sea Bass. It was Dining for India night and the food was amazing. The service is always top notch. I look forward to joining you again.
Amazing Indian food! Fantastic service! Thank you Santos!
Quality Indian cuisine in a dated setting.
Quite a Memorable experience
Loved the recommendation from the waiter! I got a glass of red wine (I believe it was a Rioja) sea bass curry and the Punjabi samosa chat for the starter. I had a really lovely dinner!
Food is amazing! They have the best butter chicken ever! The restaurant seems a little short-staffed but overall good service! It would be nice to have more space between the tables.
This was our first time out in a year. The restaurant adhere to all safety procedures. The food was excellent as well as the service. Would definitely return to this restaurant.
Right on point . Lamb Chops out of this world.
one of my favorite Indian restaurants in San Fran.
The food was great and the service was awesome
Food exceptional. Sea bass curry very very good - extra spicy please. Inside restaurant is dark and dingy, spoils the experience: that said, the food quality is top notch. Service is eclectic.... rather quirky! Nice
The food was really good. A bit pricey but unique menu items and very tasty.
Last times I visited this restaurant in 2019 and 2020 they were good, the food and drinks were good too.
In 2021, the tables looked like they were falling apart. The water came in glasses with insects in them... the food had flavor but the fish was over cooked and the nan was hard.
The drinks were bland and the lychee drink tasted like cough syrup.
The food was bland, meat was tough, and for the price ... :(
Great service but my lamb chops where not as tasty and good as usual. Very disappointed 😩
Great food, cocktails and service!
Being outdoor was a bit cold but the heaters helped a lot.
It was fine but I believe the expectations I had in my mind were a bit too high. It seemed a bit too overpriced for what the entire experience was.
Awesome food. Awesome service! Tables outside were socially distanced (with heaters available). Would recommend for high quality Indian food!
Spinach chaat was amazing. The rest of the meal was very good too, and so were the cocktails
we were served frozen stale food, definitely one of the worst dining experiences I have had, surely not visiting them again
What a wonderful restaurant! Open for a late lunch, some of the best Food I've had in SF! The server made fresh chai for me when I ordered it. What a wonderful experience. Nice warm heaters for outdoor COVID-mitigated dining.
Service was great and ambience was wonderful. However, the food was subpar for the price. Tasted old and was greasy and just not palatable.
Karwachouth special dinner date - the overall experience was good.
Few things to callout:
1. Tomato taste was overpowering in Kadhai Paneer curry. Too much of tomatoes which had suppressed the actual taste of curry.
2. We have ordered Rasmalai in dessert and it was an average dish. The main reason is the stuffing which was supposed to be soft but it wasn’t as expected. Additionally it’s taste quite a different and texture was also different.
Apart from above callouts, other things were extraordinary. Tandoori Paneer starter/entree , Butter Chicken curry, Butter Naan, Mango lassi, Ras Bahri cocktail, Gulab Jamun. This place serves One of the best Mango lassi in Bay area.
We have requested to make Butter Chicken curry on spicy side and it was damn good. It was full of flavors- slight creamy and sweet and then burst with spice.
We loved the food, thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely recommended for yummy-delicious indian food.
Overall: 3 1/2 stars (deducting half star due to 2 callouts else it would have been 4 stars)
Amber never disappoints. a great place to try quality Indian cuisine.
One of our favorites. Quality ingredients, well prepared. Staff very good about COVID precautions. Outdoor patio was comfortable.
Great ambience!! always great food . I hope they can bring back the charm they had before
Great service. Did a great job with wearing masks, social distancing and still serving great food!
They have opened up an outdoor patio, which helps for social distancing dining.
Great food in a nice location. Not the cheapest or best cocktails, but the food was amazing. The preacher on the cross street was annoying as he was on a PA. I guess there is no decibel code in SF? The Staff was great and friendly. Proud of their quality food.
Relation after work some outdoor dining .
