we went for mother day brunch. mimosas had cheap champagne in it. dosas were bland , undercooked even though it was a live station. rice for biryani was stuck together. golgappas were okay. main course : was okay . Desserts were excellent tava fish was awesome huge menu for buffet but food was just maybe less than par.

Great samosas, butter chicken, goat curry, naan. We were a party of 8 at a long table which with all the noise made communication a challenge. No charge for serving cake which was nice. Excellent service.

Our party of three were seated promptly and the wait staff attentive. We had a show to go to at Yerba Buena Center of the Arts and timeliness was appreciated. Dishes came out readily and the food was presented beautifully. Best tasting Indian food I have ever had. And I have been around. Can't go wrong going here for an amazing dining experience.

Great place to go, especially if you are on your way to SFMOMA or an event at Yerba Buena Center. The main room in beautiful, there is outdoor (glass-in) seating. Recommend the LAMB SEEKH KEBAB, Duet Of Cauliflower And Broccoli and the Zaatar Olive Oil Naan for a meal that is just the right size for two. It would be great if desserts included lemon or mango sorbet.

We let our server know that we had a 7:30 theater show when we arrived for our 6pm reservation, and she made sure our food arrived very quickly. We enjoyed our meal and would certainly return for another pre-theater dinner.

We had been planning to try this place for years...We're glad we did, the food was exceptional, as was our service however it was a rocky start. We were seated and then no one came to the table. After almost 15min of sitting there, I caught the eye of a server and asked if anyone was ever going to come over and take our order. She nervously said she wasn't sure who our server was but that she would be happy to take care of us. I apologize, her name was a new one for me and difficult to remember, I wish I had written it down because she was very attentive. I'd also like to add the various men who dropped off food and/or removed plates were all very polite and had a friendly smile and word or two. We were saddened by how dated/worn some of the furniture looked because it did detract from the overall experience - one doesn't expect to see torn or darkly stained upholstery at what otherwise could be an elegant environment. That said, the quality and flavor of the food would be a reason to return one day, or at least get takeout.

First time we have tried this restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine list had nice choices and for once reasonably priced. I’m so tired of SF restaurants charging exorbitant prices for wines. The food menu had something for everyone whether you are vegetarian or a meat, fish or poultry lover. The service is very good and staff is friendly and answered all our menu questions. We will definitely return and bring our out of town guests along.

The food is sublime. And given usual SF prices for good food, Amber India is very reasonable. They were incredibly nice accommodating one partially handicapped person in our party - that was much appreciated. I'm looking forward to my next meal there.
