Amber India in Los Altos is always reliably good. Delicious food and good service.
Mixed vegetarian was varied some dishes spicy others less so. Tandoori lamb was enjoyed by my companion
It's a good place to eat. Good food .My family and friends had a good time at this place. We will recommend and will be back again.
The food was great. Ambience was just fine.
Food is always good, but if you can't handle too much spice, you need to tell them "mild". Even with that, I find the food is sometimes too spicy!
It was a great valentines dinner in the downstairs private area with great good and perfect service!
I will never go to Amber India again for a special occasion. They looked to be staffed well but service was slow. Also, the room was cold, crowded, noisy, and definitely not the experience we were looking for for Valentine’s Day. The food was mediocre too. When our food came, we hardly ate since we were full after waiting so long and picking at our appetizers. And our food got cold quickly. Very disappointed.
Amber is a cut above the average north Indian restaurant. The service, the menu, the creative/traditional flavors. I don't know what they're doing in the kitchen, but everything just tastes better at Amber. The spinach paneer is luscious and rich and delicious and -- spinach. The malai kofta is spicy and warm and tomatoey and wonderful. I ate the leftovers for breakfast.
Food is exceptional; staff pleasant and attentive. Great Indian food on the peninsula
My Tandoori chicken was cooked just right, succulent, yet fabulous taste! We loved each dish so this will be our new favorite restaurant!!
Lovely space. Attentive staff. Nice location off the main road. Wanted to love the food. The raita just wasn’t spiced right. The lamb in my meal didn’t taste fresh. It tasted old. I had high hopes but what I ordered was just not that good.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Good for everyday dining as well as for special occasions. Service is great. Full bar and wines by the glass. Peshawari Chicken Tikka and Paneer Elaichi Pasanda were delicious!
My husband & I enjoy Indian food occasionally and we find this new Amber India delightfully attractive. Ordering takes some skill & it would be nice if the staff was more helpful in explaining portion size etc. . It is often quite empty in recent visits & we hope it’s ok.
Not bad but not awesome. Some dishes like the lentil dishes didn’t do it for me.
Vegetarian dishes were good but the meat was bland; service was disappointing and price was high. This used to be out favorite place but the quality and service has been inconsistent
Delicious food. Service was very friendly, thoughtful and quick.
Good as always and enjoyed all the dishes we ordered.
Tandoor and Dal was great. The Rasgulla was not spongy at all. Paneer was mediocre
I️ was disappointed. Amber was a favorite. It was my “Go to” for delicious Indian food. This was my first time in their new location. I️ feel the menu was not what it used to be. The food —paneer, cherry bread and samosa was ok. Sadly,
I️ will not be returning. It was quite expensive—I️ want it to be a treat for that price. I️ prefer other Indian Restaurants.
Great food, good service, nice ambiance.
Our daughter wants to go there every birthday!
Food was excellent, service awesome! Thanks
We love Amber and, even though we live over 60 miles away from this restaurant, go there several times a year. But we thought the food was well below its usual standard of excellent.
Amber is simply the best! If you like Indian food, you will love Amber. Great people and excellent cuisine. Friendly, cordial, hospitable, all the adjectives. I recommend it highly.
Very nice place to have quality Indian food in a good environment. The service is friendly and fast. Very good vegetarian options. Went to celebrate a birthday with two young kids. It was well worth it.
Really good food, great ambiance (especially the patio) and great service. The only thing I thought could be better was the prices...they're a bit on the pricier side.
Great location for sophisticated Indian food. Pricey but they can tweak the spice level to your tastebuds. Top notch service.
Great food, fast service, comfortable table placement, and attractive decoration with lots of natural light.
The service and food was great!
The food was OK but the service was way too fast! We barely had time to swallow our last bite of appetizer that the meal was on the table. We were there for a birthday party and wanted to enjoy the evening. We ended up ordering, eating and paying within 55 minutes for 4 people. Food was OK, way too much cilantro in some dishes (for my taste) but the low rating is really due to the speed of the service NOT the quality of it. Quality of service was great.
Buffet food was excellent (as always). Great selection and considering the high quality, not overpriced.
Amber is always reliably good for the quality of tasty food, generous portions and attentive service. We look forward to an evening meal with friends at Amber.
Lovely dinner n the patio before the theater. Excellent service and delicious food.
My favorite Indian restaurant. Chicken tikka Marsala & lamb vindaloo with naan is always perfect. Service is always excellent and friendly.
There's only one issue, the head waiter was wearing too much cologne which can affect your palette.
The best Indian food in the Bay Area, great Tandoiry selection (esp the Salmon)...
Good place for Indian food. We have dined here several times. Each time, service needs improvement. Servers are not the most personable. Our glasses of water were served lukewarm (it was a warm day). I asked for ice only to request it a second time from a second server after waiting 15 minutes.
Pricey at dinner. Lunch buffet is great!
Great as always, love this place. Delicious lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka Marsala and perfect naan.
Always great tasting and good quality Indian food. We love this place for a nice Saturday night meal.
This is our go to Indian restaurant on the Peninsula! Always great service and great food...very fresh and spices perfectly balanced!
Never disappointed :)
