Taste- great, however prices are way up with much smaller portions . 4% surcharge for wages, reflected in smaller tip.

Chicken ka tikka, was very bad, something that was rushed when the initial order was missed.

Flavorful food, no ambiance, acoustics made it very difficult to hear across the table, service was average, very expensive for this average experience.

We are new to Indian cuisine in general and the waitstaff helped us out immensely. Every dish picked for us was delicious. Would come back again in a heartbeat.

There are plenty of Indian restaurants that have good food but Amber is one of the few that offers a fine dining experience. Everything we had was delicious but we particularly enjoyed the assorted vegetable platter and mirchi ka gosht. Service was attentive and quick.

My husband is super picky about seating - like super picky - and this place worked for us! The tables are appropriately spaced so your not right up on top of your neighbor like so many restaurants today. The service was great, the menu has tons of delicious options and the food was really good. Oh - and the drinks were stiff and tasty! I will def. go back!!

Very few options in buffet compared to amount charged. Only pakode in starter n in desserts only 2items. Was expecting more as already charging high compare to other restaurants offering buffet.

On the whole, most of the food in the buffet was very tasty, the waiter was good, the ambiance was nice - pleasant atmosphere.

Unfortunately, I think they forgot that I said it was my friend's birthday and so they did not bring a dessert with candle, as promised.

Some of the curries in the buffet were too spicy but were not labeled as such. It would be good to know which ones are very spicy and which ones are not.

Fantastic Indian food in a beautiful setting. The Tandoori Chicken was tender and packed with flavor. The Bengan Bartha (eggplant) was delicious. The menu is on the expensive side as Indian restaurants go, but well worth it!

Food and service was great, but the atmosphere is too noisy.
I expected the noise to be a problem during the first 90 minutes of their weekday lunch buffet, but also uncomfortably noisy in the evening.

Average, but perhaps our expectations of Indian food are high following 6 years living in the uk which undoutably has the best Indian food outside India itself.

My only issue with this location is when there are people with kids and parents are not monitoring them it very annoying. kids are touching the buffet food/utensils. etc. There should be a sign that says parents need to watch their kids or they would be asked to leave. I don't pay $20 per head to come and see kids throwing fruit back in the fruit salad bowl or jumping up and down screaming. thank you!

They messed up on packing the left overs. I ordered vegetarian food and asked them to pack the left overs. Upon reaching home, I discovered they handed me someone else’s non-vegetarian left over food that we ended up throwing away. We had substantial food left over.

The service was pretty bad, we were a table of 7, and they needed to be flagged multiple times to take our order, and didn't take the entire table's order. The food's description and what was brought out was very different. Not very authentic food. At best the food is mediocre.

Although still a very good restaurant with tasty dishes, both service and quality have declined a bit since my last visit. First, ALL our dishes arrived in a sort of luke-warm state and so had to be sent back to be warmed up a bit. Second, in order to get something extra, such as another drink or some raita, the request had to be made several times in order to be conveyed upstream to someone who could either understand the request or effect it. Still a nice place and the food is tasty, but attention to quality is warranted.

Although food was very good, towards the end of our meal but before we had ordered our dessert and while still drinking our bottle of wine, the manager made us feel harassed as he kept coming back first with a premature bill and then every 3-5 mins for payment. Very poor taste on his part.

Food was excellent. We went as a group of 6. Everyone likes the ambience and food. The downside was though we reserved for a particular time we were kept waiting for 20 minutes. So reservations are not useful at this restaurant. They often tend to put you outside in the patio and hence I had reserved it. But the wait was the same.

I ❤️ Amber India and have eaten there for many years at the current and former locations. The food is always delicious and the service outstanding! I enjoy the buffets as well and the selection of items exceeds those of your competitors in tha local area. My two guests visiting from New York City enjoyed their meals (and cocktails/wine) and we are still eating our delicious leftovers. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Amber - we tried the butter chicken, which was delicious, and a wonderful starter of fried califlower in a spicy sauce that was amazing. We also enjoyed the goat cheese naan and our eggplant entree. Very good meal!

One of the worst dinner meals in the Bay Area!
Hara kabob was super crappy - was so dry and over cooked. Chole reminded me off Delhi roadside stall. Paneer Handi came with 6 peices of paneer.
The roti was the worst.. it was dry and cold!! Onion kulcha was half cooked and I we could the flour.

We complained and the restaurant replaced the paneer and all the rotis. This was the only good part of the evening, as we did not want a huge argument.

The bill came with 20% gratuity already added!!! We were just two people at dinner and it’s super unfair for the restaurant to add such amount!! We just wanted to leave.

Never going back again and won’t recommend this place ever to anyone..
