About Amber Dhara
Amber Dhara (meaning "sky" and "earth", respectively) is the brand new concept from Vijay Bist. Here, his long time dream of opening an Indian restaurant in downtown Palo Alto come true. The vision for this restaurant is to create seasonal, regional, sustainable, and unique menus paired with an extensive wine and cocktail list with friendly service. Chef Vittal researched and compiled a contemporary menu which has fresh look while using the traditional recipes; the age are followed to the core using layers of spices with nouvelle cooking techniques.

Amber Dhara Ratings and Reviews
Although the restaurant is busy with a holiday office party, our waiter who served them too tried to be accommodating. He was friendly and did not have to apologize to us for the delay in our order because we just wanted to sit there and enjoy the food. It was my son (who turned 15 that day) who asked us to try their restaurant because he went in there one day to ask if he could buy a soda and they were so nice and accommodating to this teenager that it made a good impression on him.
I am consistently happy with essentially every aspect of the experience I have dining here. The food is interesting and always excellent. The service is attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant is quiet - the tables are well spaced - so that conversation is possible. (The coffee is not distinguished - that is my only complaint.)
Dining at Amber Dharma made our daughter's birthday inner simply INCREDIBLE!! Even true Indian Food fans can love the scrumptious, healthy, and locally sourced food this place offers. My personal favorite was the SAAG! I could have eaten the whole bowl all by myself! Try this place. You'll go back again and again.
I loved the food and the waiters were extremely polite and helpful.
I would suggest that when dinner time arrives the steam table set up for the buffet lunch be put away and disguised as an ornament arrangement. It's disconcerting to arrive and walk into empty food vessels right at the front door. Otherwise the place did very well.
Amber Dhara recently started offering a lunch Buffet and I tried it out. There was a decent selection of 4 non veg dishes..including a fish which was excellent and tandoori chicken which was good. There was rice and dal and 3 veg dishes. There was fruits and raita and a quinoa salad and onion fritters. Dessert was fruit salad and a sooji halwa. Thet served fresh and hot naans at the table. All in all a very good lunch and a very good value
The buffet food was disgusting. We had been 6 months and itwas pretty good. That is why we went back onFather's day. Ihad called ahead tofind out the menu for buffet but was toldthat been decided. That was fine, but I alsoasked if Icould order from the menu, the person on the said yes. Thatwas notthe case. Thatwas a shame because all 6 of us paid 19.95forthe most tasteless food. The naan were cold and dry, seemed to only be reheated everytime we asked for hot ones. They also charged us 18% tip, which is a ripoff for drinks and naan. I will never go back
