Food was great, the restaurant was almost empty, maybe because it was late at night (around 9:30 pm).
The service was fast and food was really good.
Excellent - a bit pricey but large portions and delicious freshly prepared l
We wanted a quiet environment and a taste of curry. Our waiter was most helpful suggesting a chicken dish, a vegetable, and a wine. We found the food and the experience excellent. This wasn't our first experience and it won't be our last experience.
The place should be full every night. Maybe some soft Indian music? Maybe a mix of waiters, with some women?
What a wonderful restaurant. We reliably have great food and a wonderful time there.
Food was average. Starters were good. Main course is expensive with average taste. There are other good restaurants below average ambience serves great food.
Delicious food and excellent service!
Went for a lunch, it was buffet, very small. Limited options, especially for a vegetarian. Would not go back for lunch...still need to try dinner. I hear it’s good.
Although the restaurant is busy with a holiday office party, our waiter who served them too tried to be accommodating. He was friendly and did not have to apologize to us for the delay in our order because we just wanted to sit there and enjoy the food. It was my son (who turned 15 that day) who asked us to try their restaurant because he went in there one day to ask if he could buy a soda and they were so nice and accommodating to this teenager that it made a good impression on him.
The food was good and the service was good. We were at this location several years ago for Indian food and it was a busy, buzzing, delicious, elegant place. It’s far more ordinary now, despite it’s great location.
Great food, good service but very slow night. I think it’s an Indian holiday. Had the butter chicken, lamb shank and cauliflower appetizer. Everything was delicious!
I am consistently happy with essentially every aspect of the experience I have dining here. The food is interesting and always excellent. The service is attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant is quiet - the tables are well spaced - so that conversation is possible. (The coffee is not distinguished - that is my only complaint.)
Had a birthday party there for a handful of friends. The buffet was very good with many choices for everyone including a friend who's gluten friend, and another who's a vegetarian. Everyone was happy with the lunch and with the service and ambiance.
Excellent food and service, as usual. Sag paneer was a little too blended for my taste, but otherwise quite good. Amber Dhara is a solid performer if you desire good Indian food in an elegant atmosphere.
Dining at Amber Dharma made our daughter's birthday inner simply INCREDIBLE!! Even true Indian Food fans can love the scrumptious, healthy, and locally sourced food this place offers. My personal favorite was the SAAG! I could have eaten the whole bowl all by myself! Try this place. You'll go back again and again.
nice and clean, good food choice, not loud, easy access
I loved the food and the waiters were extremely polite and helpful.
I would suggest that when dinner time arrives the steam table set up for the buffet lunch be put away and disguised as an ornament arrangement. It's disconcerting to arrive and walk into empty food vessels right at the front door. Otherwise the place did very well.
Awesome dinning experience as usual - great food, good service, very flexible chef.
Out with my neighbors. Waiter was very helpful. Food was excellent and delivered hot.
Great service. A bit pricey for Indian food but some good dishes.
Great food and cocktails! It is definitely a cut or two above most Indian places. the decor and ambience is uneven and could use some attention to design and details.
The food is really below average compared to the other Amber locations. Not impressed. Too pricy for what it offers.
Food is pretty average and without options for those who can't eat spicy, but mostly the place has no character and service lacks professionalism. Probably decent for lunch if you work in the area, but not a good option for dinner.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. We had a very special birthday party for our 16 year old who love Indian cuisine! Great place!
It was the one of the worst food i ever tasted in Bay Area.
Will never recommend to anyone
Lunch was buffet only, not sure when this changed but definitely not the same quality (or variety) of ala carte. Or compared to other local options.
I hated this place. Service was absolutely atrocious and food was disgusting.
Butter chicken to die for.
very good food and plentiful portions. attentive service by the staff.
This was a decent spot, but a bit dreary for date night.
The butter chicken was not quite amber standard. The dessert fig kulfi was amazing!
The food was excellent and the service nicely done. Appreciate the quiet atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. The food is really very good and catered to our requests.
The tandoori chicken tasted like it was leftover from another meal. It was dry, overcooked, and the sauce was hard.
We came for the Sunday lunch buffet. It was delicious. It was very quiet and the service was great. My only suggestion would be to have a few more dessert options and do away with the plastic spoons. It's too nice an ambience to eat anything with plastic!
Great food and service
Great food with slightly different Indian menu.
Everything we had was perfect!!
The food was a disappointment. This was our first visit to the Palo Alto location of the "Amber" chain of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. The Mountain View location, Amber India, serves much better dishes with equally good service and ambience.
Nothing special. Used to be better.
need to have outdoor dining again and keep the temperture more comfortable in the dining area.
Amber Dhara recently started offering a lunch Buffet and I tried it out. There was a decent selection of 4 non veg dishes..including a fish which was excellent and tandoori chicken which was good. There was rice and dal and 3 veg dishes. There was fruits and raita and a quinoa salad and onion fritters. Dessert was fruit salad and a sooji halwa. Thet served fresh and hot naans at the table. All in all a very good lunch and a very good value
