This was the perfect way to end a convention trip on a rainy Sunday. The food was fresh and delicious and the atmosphere cozy and inviting.
Another great meal at The Ambassador! Food is always excellent with creative twists and great execution. Decor is great and comfortable with typically quiet atmosphere. Such a great chef and kitchen for the amount of traffic typically there. Under appreciated!
Great ambiance! Excellent food. Excellent happy hour.
Excellent service in an elegant setting. Good range of food choices at reasonable prices.
Beautiful setting but was disappointed in food. Small portion and very bland. Had the roasted chicken.
Food was delicious! Crispy breakfast potatoes and fluffy pancakes. My only complaint was that the coffee was very weak.
An unexpected find! Beautiful decor in the lobby and the restaurant. Attentive service. Very good food. A short walk to Sprint Center, Folly Theater, P & L.
Great service and food love this Hotel and Restaurant. Staff is the best
When we arrived for our reservation, we were informed that the entire restaurant had been booked for a private event. When I showed them my confirmation emails and texts, they offered us a free drink but insisted that we would not be allowed to stay for our reservation if it would take more than 30 minutes to complete our meal.
Great food and very intimate setting.
Food and service was wonderful I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice, quiet upscale place.
It's a great place to enjoy conversation in a beautiful space. It's well appointed and the staff is friendly. The food is...adequate. The food is consistent and well prepared, just unimaginative at a premium price point.
Me and my husband went here for Valentine’s Day. The waiter told us up front that the wine was complementary and then charged us for it. Our waiter also tried to deliver our soup to another table and almost poured our water into our glasses that were filled with wine. On top of that, I figured for the price we payed for the meal that I definitely shouldn’t of suffered from food poising 2 hours after I left the place. I was on the toilet all night! Would definitely not recommended ever!
First time didn’t know what expect but it was a very pleasant evening
Great place - why did we not try this beautiful and enjoyable restaurant sooner??? We will be back very soon no doubt.
Nice to get in on the Restaurant Week deals. Salad was good and salmon dish was also good. The salmon was cooked with a bit too much butter for my liking, but I do tend to be one who likes dishes dry and raw.
Have recommended the Reserve to many and look forward to returning.
Super cozy and the food/drinks are great. Have only been here for happy hour, but would really like to come back for dinner soon.
The food was just okay. A mix of new American fusion that I didn’t really like.
Wonderful Christmas meal...we all enjoyed the prime rib cooked exactly right w/ the accompanying veggies...the mussels appetizer was delicious as were the side salads...very attentive service...thank you!
Great atmosphere. Food was delicious. Very attentive server. Will definitely go back.
A great spot for a business conversation over a meal or beverage. Food is always well prepared and the staff appropriately attentive without interrupting. The bar staff knows their
The convenience that it was in the lobby of our hotel does not distract from the great experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere inviting and enjoyable. Our service was outstanding and we will definitely revisit this little gem.
Beautifully restored Art Deco hotel. The atmosphere was lovely and enhanced by great live music. Menu is not extensive, but food presentation and taste were superb. Waitstaff was good - but could have been a little more attentive.
Great hidden gem in Kansas City. The Reserve is tucked into the historic Ambassador hotel in downtown Kansas City. It is very convenient for dinner pre/post events at the Sprint Center and the Power & Light district. Staff was very friendly and efficient from the valet out front to the front desk staff at the hotel and the wait staff in the restaurant. The food was good; great flatbread appetizer and wine selection very appropriate. The entrees were fine, I have had better steaks in KC but the Filet and the Ribeye were prepared correctly and flavorful. The wait between courses was a bit excessive for an off - evening but the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We will be back for the live jazz on the weekends.
We went for Thanksgiving and had a great time. The food was excellent and the atmosphere very elegant without being too stuffy. We'll be back for sure!
We went for thanksgiving. Dishes were dirty. Food wasn’t very warm. Everything was mediocre except the sweet potatoes. The dessert was less than mediocre. But service was great.
I have had better food here in the past... service great as there were only two other tables. Cheap as well since it was happy hour until 7! The menu just changed, and I think, perhaps, it needs some fixing.
The food and the atmosphere and food was fantastic! It was also very romantic and the Jazz was wonderful
Excellent food, helpful and attentive server, very pleasant ambience
In spite of challenges, we still love this place: We could not find a hostess when we arrived. 10 minutes later she appeared. Our table was not ready, and ended up never being ready. The hostess graciously offered us our first drink free and gave us a table for two even though there were four of us. This was fine, but better planning for busy nights (concerts) would be appreciated. Food was good, although we miss the sliders. And not having a burger on the regular menu when it is available is odd. Some of the foods are a bit too ambitious, but all in all everything was good. It’s still one of my favorite places!!
First dining experience at Reserve. Everything was wonderful. . .service, ambiance, selection and great food! Whenever I order a filet, I order it well-done; most high-end restaurants butterfly the filet to achieve my well-done request which tends to dry it out. Reserve prepared my filet perfectly, without butterflying it, and it was delicious!
I went to conduct an interview with a candidate. Nice, quiet, timely service, great food and extremely personable team members. A hidden gem. P.S. try the BLT delicious!
I LOVE this fabulous place. Such a gem!! The ambiance is perfection - SO romantic. A perfect date night spot. Such a lovely lovely place.
Great place to eat and relax downtown! Everybody is friendly, the prices and location are perfect during and after work.
Great place to eat when in Kansas City if you want a quieter evening than what most other places downtown offer. Along with the service, the food was outstanding. I will most certainly eat here again when in Kansas City.
Our family enjoyed dining here for brunch on Sunday. There is parking in a gated lot just south of the hotel. You will need to buzz them, let them know you are dining in the restaurant and the parking is complimentary. We enjoyed the quiet ambiance, the impeccable service and the wonderful menu choices. I enjoyed the Breakfast Bowl with quinoa, eggs, and vegetables. At our table we also ordered Eggs Benedict, the Signature breakfast, pancakes and Avocado Toast. The only item that was not as expected was the Avocado Toast. But everything was delicious and the menu was extensive. What a lovely way to spend Sunday Brunch.
Great place to meet friends for Happy Hour. Food and drinks are excellent.
While in town for the Charlie Parker Celebration Festival, I was able to get a good table and see the live entertainment here - with little notice.
I come here all the time. In fact, it's one of my favorite places downtown. I was really disappointed on August 9. The menu was MUCH more limited than normal. No sliders. No mac & cheese. No jalapeño syrup for happy hour drink. Truffle fries were mushy, not crispy. Etc. Add to that the terrible service. I mean go to up the bar to get a second round of drinks because wait staff was MIA. Almost never came back to table even after we got our food. Forgot mayo we requested. And it was super loud. I'll be back because I am sure this had to just be an off night, but really hope they pull it back together. Usually love it -- very pretty bar.
