Michelin Star experience, to be sure. Every bite was filled with exceptional flavor. The dishes were creative and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional and very friendly (thank you, Gabriel). Not stuffy at all, and still first class. The braised short ribs were melt -in-your-mouth perfect. The ceviche was bursting with life and texture. The flan was creamy and spectacular (no gelatin short-cuts here). And the ambiance was lovely with beautiful amber lighting. Ambar should be on the list of Michelin, James Beard Awards, and 1000 Places To Eat Before you Die. I will remember this experience for years to come.
Everything was delicious! Very unique taste in every single dish. Staff was friendly and courteous. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Excellent restaurant. May be my new favorite in El Paso.
One of the most amazing restaurants in El Paso. Fine dining at it best!!!!
Neither entree included a side, we didn't know that because based on the entree description it seemed like there was one. Sides can be ordered a la carte. Duck with mole sauce was very good.
Seated by the window, with the entire window sill covered in dust. Made me wonder how clean other areas of the restaurant are.
Service was excellent, waiters very attentive.
Lovely lunch with Pastor
We enjoyed our first experience at Ámbar yet the service should be a little more attentive. The flan was amazing yet one suggestion is getting eco friendly plastic straws because the paper straws becomes a hassle. We will be going again yet overall a great experience.
Fantastic meal for the Family. Enjoyed all the plates. Great service. Love the open kitchen to watch prep.
The restaurant is very pretty and service was good. Drinks were good, but food was pricey for the portion size and was somewhat disappointing. My husband got the $40 whole chicken and honestly, it was pretty dry and not flavorful. My friend had the ceviche and I tried it - it was on the fishy side and I wasn’t impressed. My friend’s husband and I both had the short ribs and they were just ok. My portion size was way smaller than his and we all noticed. We also shared the guacamole for an appetizer and again, nothing special. We may give it another try but we all agreed we were disappointed.
Great new additional to El Paso. Beautifully prepared Southwestern / Mexican cuisine. Nice vegan/vegetarian options as well. Bravo.
The guacamole was incredible, service was super on point and the ambiance was enjoyable.
So the waiters and cooks were not wearing their masks correctly. Most had them hanging off their faces as they were too big and below their nose. One waiter reprimanded a hostess loud enough that we heard it and she was visibly upset. The food was average I wasn’t expecting tacos at the plaza I figured if they went to the trouble of renovating it and having nice rooms they would have a restaurant that matched. Cafe Central is much better.
The food was excellent. We enjoyed the bone marrow and the carnitas.
The duck and carnitas tacos were absolutely amazing.. The tequila drink was great as well.. the restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance was just perfect for a night out with a gorgeous girl on my birthday..thank you soo much and i will be back soon!
Ambar is a great new option for drinks and or dinner in Downtown El Paso.
Beautiful atmosphere and food was terrific. Service will get better with time I hope.
Great restaurant with some kinks to work out...service was slow, waited kept pulling his mask below his chin at the table which made us a little uneasy. Drinks were excellent! Food was good. Yellowtail was a bit fishy, and chips were stale. Carnitas and skirt steak were a little salty but good flavors. Cesar was too heavily dressed, but tasty. Tortilla soup was delish, but the bowl was so hot it burned my husband when he touched it. I would definitely go back once they have worked out the kinks. The ambiance is fantastic. They were out of almost every wine we asked for, so that was a bummer... it’s a weird time, and they just opened, so I think in time it will be a knockout spot for sure!!
Although I thought the menu was limited, I suspect that could be to better serve the reduced volume of patrons due to COVID restrictions. Other than that, they whole experience was excellent. Everything was top notch. Food and service were amazing. Definitely a nice place to visit. I will be back soon.
Food was excellent , they had limited wine menus though, sold out of quiet a bit. We did get a red wine and it was great
Food is good. Staff are very polite and attentive.
Fantastic experience. Wonderful service. Chef came to our table to speak with us. Chianina Steak was great. Enough food for 3 people. Terrific atmosphere. Could not have had a better experience!!
Interesting menu with lots of flavor. The smashed potatoes were unique with a hint of smoke and creaminess. You need to try to experience.
Poor service. Cold food. Takes to long for next order to arrive.
It took 1:15 to have our food, the manager gave us free of charge our meals. The place it is excellent, I posted in Facebook; unfortunately the service and food it was the opposite, I keep this for myself I hope they improve it.
Great place for a romantic dinner or a group of friends! Excellent service at the bar from Oscar and Andrew as our server.
Excellent service and atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Excellent fine-dining experience in El Paso. Great service.
My husband and I celebrated our first date night in months, due to COVID. Ambar was the perfect excursion out. The ambiance was simply perfect, both modern, classic, and retro vibes combined. Ambar's staff were completely welcoming in a relaxed, yet professional demeanor. Nothing was overstated, and easily, Ambar can host a casual get-together meal with friends, to an elegant dinner for that special occasion, or even just some good conversation while enjoying your favorite spirits in their bar area. The fare was as tasty as it was imaginative. We opted for the pork carnitas to share, and we even had some to take home with us afterwards. For dessert, we nibbled on chocolate cake, with strawberries and a scoop of strawberry ice cream, but no strawberry ice cream you've ever tasted...it was heavenly. For our drinks, we went with my go to, Moscow Mule. I'm pretty picky about my Mule's, but Ambar got it just right...maybe even better than what I make at home!
I don't typically spend a lot of time providing reviews unless it was a really bad experience or really top notch. Ambar just blew us away in every category, so we are very happy to write about our experience.
Everything was perfect
I understand this is a new restaurant and there is always going to be tweaking here and there but the services was way below average for such a beautiful upscale hotel.
When we got there our table wasn’t ready even though we had a reservation set for 10pm. Once we got our table after 40 mins we couldn’t even get our waiter’s attention or even had the common courtesy of offering us something to drink. After nearly an hour of waiting we just decided to leave.
Great fine dinning experience, with a Latin twist. Amazing food!!! Chef Padilla does an amazing job and it was great to see him working the pass. My only complaint was that the service was a little slow...not the food. We wanted more drinks, but weren’t asked. We wanted dessert, but weren’t asked. I fully attribute this to opening jitters and/or a new staff. Otherwise, a great experience that I look forward to repeating.
Our dishes were delicious, we had Braised Rib, Duck in Mole, and Ámbar Ceviche. Tres leches as dessert, this sweet dish was a surprise. Our Tequila Sour drinks were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. The place is cozy and beautiful decorated.
Great history in the hotel and the restaurant ambience is great. Wish they had a Tequila list.
Fantastic service and food and a beautiful venue! Definitely looking forward to going back.
Highly recommend! Great ambiance and food was delicious!
I went on their second day.
Fire alarm went off.
Lots of bones in the fish.
Manager didn’t know what was there topping to the guacamole.
Saving grace was the server and the ambiance. I’m hoping it gets better as they knock out the opening issues.
Had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely a top restaurant in El Paso!
