This place never disappoints. So happy a nice. Allan resta Has opened downtown. Amazing food for all and the prices are outstanding for this all you can eat tapas style restaurant

Great new place that allows you to try as many different items on the menu as you want. Food was outstanding and the service was top notch. Only draw back is the 2 flights of stairs you need to take to get to the restroom. It was a great night out.

My family and I tried Ambar for brunch and we were impressed by the quality of the food. We enjoyed various small plates and each dish was delicious. My personal favorite was the hanger steak. However, we were disappointed by the service that we received. Our server seemed like he was either in a bad mood, or simply detested his job. While he did check up on us verbally a few times during our meal, he spent standing around or chatting with his colleagues. We appreciated the hardworking staff wearing blue T-shirts who took the time to bring our food out to us, cleared our table, and refilled our waters. The host at the front desk was also polite. Even though the food was delicious, I don’t think I will return due to the poor service. There are plenty of restaurants in Chicago that have a great food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Can't say enough about our experience at Ambar, which was accommodating from the start. I accidentally made a reservation for 2 people (we were actually a party of 6), yet on a Saturday night with a full house, we were seated within 10 minutes. This was our first time here, so our server walked us through how the evening would take place -- small plates, as many as you like, paced through the evening. With each order, our food came quickly, it came hot and fresh, and service was attentive. And when we thought we were finished... we were encouraged to have more. You WON'T go hungry here, and you WILL be glad you came.

Great food and nice service. Ambiance is nice but tables just a little too close together. Next time we would request a table away from the music speaker. Restrooms are up three flights of stairs. There is an elevator but you must inquire. Overall great experience and we would return.

The service was poor. They lost my order and served my companion at least 15 minutes before they brought part of my order. it was a very unsatisfying experience.
