   Great service (server Mia was great & bus staff on top of everything eventhough we were 8 people). Food is a 8 to 9 / 10. Value 10/10 w/all you can eat format and in River North ($55/adult inc desert, ex tax & tip). Will be back to to try lunch & brunch. Only gripe: coursing not organized & seems to be designed to fill us up on apps & sides so that we didn't notice when some of the meat entrees were forgotten/delayed. Probably done to manage cost since meat is lower profit margin. But they should figure out a better way.

   Strange servers but great concept. Most of the food was good but we got food we didn’t order. The drink I ordered with rakia I didn’t like but the mango lemonade was good. Unfortunately limited gluten free options for my friend as well. The bathroom is also far and not great.

   Loved this place so much that I was motivated to leave this review! The food was excellent... It was basically a modern take on my grandmother's cooking. I am Croatian and have high standards for this cuisine. Throughout the meal, I was texting photos of the gorgeous delicious food to my Croatian family, who were so very jealous. I've never been so excited to see Sarma. Miraculously, the whole place did not stink like cabbage!!!! I love the all-you-can-eat model. I will become a frequent flyer at this place. I cannot wait to go back and feast. Also, my partner is a vegan & they were able to easily accommodate him. I want this place to thrive so go there now!!! NOW! Hvala Ambar!

   What a neighborhood gem. I have never had Balkan food before and the food was great. As it’s a fixed price tapas style restaurant, you can try so many dishes. Very fun.

   Food was very good, and a terrific value - lunch of multiple small plates was $29 each and we had something like a dozen little courses. Standouts were the peppers, goulash, carrots, eggplant and beet salad. It was fun trying so many different things, and we could have stayed another 30 minutes and tried more under the lunch terms. Service was a little slow in terms of time to get our first ordered item, and it would have been nice to get a clean plate midway through, but those are minor nitpicks.

   Had a female server and she was not good. Rarely came to us and it took over 10 minutes to get water, even after watching her place water at other tables who sat after us. Food was fine. Was expecting to order from the lunch menu, but could only order from the brunch menu. Disappointed by that as I wasn’t intrigued by their brunch items like the s’more waffle. What’s Balkan about that?

   Our first time at this establishment. It was a pleasant day for outdoor seating. The unlimited food and drinks are an absolute steal. However, the service was slow. I had requested the Meat Pie twice, but it never arrived.

    It’s refreshing to see Balkan cuisine in the heart of downtown Chicago, and Ambar brings it with style. Their all-you-can-eat concept of small plates is the perfect way to experience a wide variety of traditional Balkan flavors in one sitting. Every dish we tried was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between modern and cozy, making it a welcoming space to relax and enjoy the meal. Service was excellent — attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without ever feeling rushed. Ambar is a fantastic addition to the city’s dining scene
