   We made a reservation for Mother’s Day and we for some reason were seated in their dingy basement. It looked like a restroom with the little tiny tiles on the floor but I could’ve lived with that except it was also very cold and the music was blasting. The food was good as usual and the runners despite having to come from upstairs did a good job trying to get us our food. We had to wait longer because they had to bring a big tray and go down a tiny staircase to get to us. Our server was meh. She was friendly but inattentive. Our drinks never got filled unless we call her attention and she was just standing by the bar. There was a moment when we couldn’t see her at all, about 10 mins so I finally asked another server to fill our drinks and put food order for us. Then she came a minute later and checked on us. The ambience downstairs is the killer. It’s night and day compared to the nice garden it portrayed upstairs. It seemed like it was trying to have a speakeasy vibe but it didn’t achieve it. Not very happy with our dining experience today but I’m just glad the food was good.

   Fantastic experience overall, small portion sizes allowed for tasting of many menu items and then circling back for the ones we liked.

   I had dinner at the Ambar location in Clarendon and had a great night. The food was good, and the service was great! Our waitress Ana was very kind, very attentive, and made sure we were having a good time. Would highly recommend and thank you for the great service

   It was disappointing that the Alexandria location didn’t have bottomless drinks like Shaw. Everything else was lovely as expected from Ambar.

   This was my first time visiting Ambar - Arlington which I was excited to try their brunch since I’ve been to their other Ambar locations in DC and it’s one of my favorites, however unfortunately, I was not impressed. The main dining room looked beautiful, light and airy, and what I had expected, however we were seated in the Ambar Lounge, per our reservation, in the basement which was very different. Our table was next to a wall and the space felt dark, dingy, and cramped. The ambience in the lounge was not up to my expectations and prefer the lighter vibes when dining with Ambar. I recommend adding more photos of the lounge area so that guests are not surprised by the differences in atmosphere. The lounge is better suited for a date night or more intimate setting for guests seeking that type of atmosphere. One of the chairs at our table was missing a foot bar. When we asked the server if we could get a different chair, we were told no even though there were 4-6 other chairs around us that could have been swapped. We had to repeat the items we wanted to order several times. Many of the dishes came out cold/lukewarm and inconsistent. The flavors and dishes were tasty, however would have liked if they were hot. Overall, I’ve had better experiences at their other locations and left dissatisfied. I would still recommend Ambar and would like to believe this was a one-off experience.

   Everything was perfect, the ambience, food and service. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Our waiter Mario and his colleague Valentin were professional and very helpful. Me and my family will come back for sure and make it a regular dining place.

   We went around 4 PM for happy hour and sampled almost everything on the menu. Very tasty. The mussels were my favorite.

   Our first time here was an unexpected pleasure. Loved the variety of small plates and unlimited portions. We tried almost everything on the menu and were happy with all of them. It was a fun birthday celebration and the even threw in a free desert for our birthday boy. We will return.

    My guest and I were seated for about 15mins before anyone acknowledged us. We had to flag someone down. We came towards the end of brunch so that 15 mins was important. It felt rushed and I felt unseen and undervalued
