    Ambar has always been a great experience. Been visiting since it first opened and it’s impressive to see how they blended the traditional Balkan (mostly Serbian) experience with modern touches. You’ll be extra fortunate if visiting while Valentin is on duty at the restaurant as the manager. He works hard to ensure guests have a great experience and his hospitality is the best of what the Balkans have to offer.

    I had lunch their. Over all, we tried nine different dishes, and they were all delicious. The only thing I would not order on my next visit is the flatbread pizza. It was very good, but a large portion. The other dishes are smaller so you can try more of the different menu offerings. If you ate all the pizza at the start, you might not have room to explore the menu.

    Food was generally good (exceptions being the ground lamb medallions and the carrot dishes) but the overall dining experience was not. High noise level and food came out too quickly and not in a sensible order . Played were just dropped off by servers who mumbled what the dish was and frequently without a serving utensil. Overall, I was disappointed, particularly given the price.

    My second time here and it’s going to be a must visit any time I’m in DC. Fantastic cocktails, excellent and friendly service from the staff and the unlimited menu is outstanding. Tried the lamb lasagna, short rib goulash and the pepper and cheese croquets on this visit. Wonderful. And the cevapi and the sujuk flatbread on a previous visit were amazing. Looking for an excuse to fly back to DC from the Midwest just to eat here again.

    Our server Anna was fantastic. Food was wonderful. Kabob was a little salty, but otherwise everything delicious and a good deal. Had a great time there.

    Our first time and it was worth it. The food was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. There was a good variety of vegetables and meat tapas. You have to come hungry for the All you can eat. They also have an A La Cart option. We will definitely go again and recommend to our friends.

    Sana was an amazing server. She was so attentive and had good recommendations. The food was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back to see Sana, she was the highlight of our brunch!
