Food was really good. Cocktails were average. We were told to order several things by the waitress, and then they were out of everything she suggested. That theme of our waitress seeming like she didn’t exactly know what was going on carried on throughout the meal. Maybe it was her first night, but something seemed off. Even when our did came out and we asked which dishes were which she seemed confused.

Wow, some amazing food upstairs at Amazonia! This was our first visit to Amazonia, which is upstairs from the Michelin star restaurant Causa. We sat in their outdoor area, which is covered, quite large, and pleasant. The server was very knowledgeable, attentive, and willing to provide recommendations. We were really wowed by the food. We had two starters, a plantain stuffed with ragu, topped with cheese, and a pork belly skewer. Both were amazing! We had the tuna ceviche, which was very good, but a little bit simple in preparation. We shared the Lomo Saltado, which was the best we have ever had. Please note that this entree is served in a large dish, but it only has a medium quantity of meat. We tried a caramel chocolate cake topped with a nutty ice cream for dessert, which was very tasty. I had an old fashioned and their Amazonia Punch. Both were really well prepared. The metal straw in the punch was a nice touch, which kept the drink super cold as you drank it…very refreshing. We will definitely be back for another visit at a future date.

The only complaint I have about the evening is that the air conditioning was so high that I had to ask for to be moved away from the AC vents, a request that was promptly accepted. For pre-dinner drinks we had a Chancaca Old Fashion and a Maracuya Pisco Sour. I had no idea what Chancaca was and had to look it up. Such a unique flavor, between oregano and quirquina. For starters, my husband and I had Anticuchos de Corazon and Scallops Ceviche. The anticuchos were well balanced between a generous dose of cumin and aji and were perfectly cooked and clean, without nasty gristles. The scallops in the ceviche were silky and swam in a deliciously spiced tart juice accompanied by choclos. What a treat! For main course, we shared a one-pounder Sea Bream "natural Jasper" style accompanied by petacones, jasmine rice, and aji sauce. Each item was a delight, but all together were a party of unforgettable flavors. We accompanied our dinner with a bottle of 2023 Francois Crochet Sancerre and finished our meal with Chocoluma. We will return to Amazonia.

Waiter seemed taken aback that I had asked if they could explain the menu. They sarcastically stated, what do you have questions on…the whole menu! I guess when 20% tip is baked in, you dial in. Two main courses came out together leaving the other two diners waiting. Waiter seemed more interested in serving the table or guys in front of us that came in after us…I get it, they were popping bottles (of overpriced sparkling wine). Oh, and at one point we were being rushed by I’m assuming the floor manager? Tacky.

Hi William, Thank you for taking the time to provide the feedback, and we are very sorry that you weren't thrilled with your experience. We strive to over-deliver based on expectations and we clearly didn't do that. We train to ensure every guest understands that we serve all dishes family style, as they are ready, as our kitchen is unable to coordinate delivery of all dishes. We are sorry that this was not clearly explained to you and left you confused about the delivery of the experience. We will also certainly be following up with our service team regarding tour guiding. Education about all menu items is a large part of our obligation, and we are sorry this was not delivered to you properly. Thank you again for the feedback, and we would love to have you back in another time.

Literally everything tasted so good - from food to drinks! Service was very attentive and the restaurant itself was really beautiful. Went there for my anniversary and they gave us a free glass of champagne!

It’s a very nice restaurant but I feel like it was lacking. I was looking forward to eating here for some time, but everything we ordered was just okay. Nothing blew my mind or tasted amazing. For the price point I expected more flavor or authenticity. The Lomo Saltado was super salty and the ceviche was missing flavor. The chicken thigh and Salmon Belly skewers were the best cooked items, but again, the sauces for them both were missing something to put it over the top. We don’t drink, but the all the cocktails sounded amazing from what I read. Overall disappointed, but glad I went. It’s a nice restaurant with great customer service when you arrive, then it’s okay.
