Amaze44 Ratings and Reviews
Will not be going back. Tables are again to close together too be comfortable for conversation and then there is the loud music.
The food is also not very good I head the fried rice with chicken. I think there were three minuscule chunks of chicken and my mouth had this great film afterwards like eating soggy fries.
Stuff rushes you even though there were free tables. We were asked for our order 30 seconds after sitting.
At least it was cheap but not worth it.
It seemed like a nice place walking in, the menu had a good variety on it, the music was really loud though. Once we ordered the food it all really started to go down hill. As soon as the first dish came out, all the other dishes quickly followed; so quick in fact, we had to pull over another table because we ran out of room on ours. Even after we had to pull over another table they continued to bring out the food, we literally had our Kani salad still on the table barely eaten as well as our last entree. A man kept walking over then standing uncomfortably close continuously glancing at us to see if we were finished. Not only did the food come out way to quick, it was cold when we got it too. I would not recommend coming here at all.
This is a smaller location, at least on the first floor, we didnt go upstairs. For what you get, this place is an awesome value, tons of food. She got four different rolls, I got the General Tsos and chicken fried rice, it was delicious. It's happy hour til 8pm and the drinks are pretty strong. This place would be a do-over for sure when we come back.
I was looking for a four or five star review and a two dollar sign restaurant in this area. Amaze came up and it looked perfect. It did not disappoint! The food was good, the flavors excellent. The service was good and prompt. They were able to provide separate checks and presented the correct bill and card to all.
I would strongly recommend if you are looking for decent Asian food in this neighborhood.
The best I can say is the food is good. Service? Not so much. I will say our server came over quickly, however I don't think we had our coats off yet and she was asking if we were ready to order. The general theme is get in, eat, get out. So, if you're looking for a quick sit down lunch option, this is your place. If you're looking to enjoy lunch and the company of your dining companions, don't eat here. And definitely don't bring clients if you want to take time and discuss anything.
had 12:30 pentacle reservations for 4 on a Tuesday. 3 of the 4 arrived at 12:20 and was told they can't sit until ally 12:3 4 arrived. The 4th person arrived at exactly 12:30. We were then told we had to wait for a table to open. Finally got a table at almost 1:00pm. So, really no point in having a reservation. Service was ok but not friendly. Food was good but not worth the wait and the attitude.
Great lunch place only a couple of blocks from Grand Central. We both ordered the bento box which was a very good value. The miso soup was bland but fine with me. However my friend didn't enjoy it or the tea. Lots of servers & busboys around. I recommend getting seated upstairs away from high traffic in the ground floor / bar area where there's some tables as well. Honestly you'll pay the same price and more for any other lunch nearby. Highly recommend!
It was Valentine's Day and I was looking forward to take my wife to a new place. The restaurant was empty at 8:15pm and there were only two other tables occupied. It was the day of a snow storm so it was cold and they had their heat turned off. When we asked our server if they could turn up the heat the response we got was "I wish they would". The food was okay (nothing special) and we ordered the Red Curry with Shrimp (spicy) was very disappointing (came out watered down and had no flavor). We did not want to ruin the night by arguing about the food so we ate a little bit and left.
It is great to order Thai, Japanese and Chinese off of the same menu. The service is great and food is awesome. The doorway is small so I walked right past the place. They also have an upstairs to accommodate more people. The bar has only about 6 or 7 seats but that is not a big deal because this place is fun. It also has happy hour specials. I will be back.
When I arrived with my friend the restaurant 2nd floor was almost empty just 3 tables were occupied on that floor. The waitress showed us to our table and wanted us to sit in between 2 tables with people whereas the rest was completely empty. We asked politely if we could sit a little further on a side table and she declined saying that all the other tables were reserved for large groups (That was hard to believe!) We asked for another sitting option and that was declined and she was getting annoyed with us now. We finally sat where she ordered us to sit (yes ordered is the right word as she wasn't friendly at all!) and 5 minutes later 2 men walked up and sat on the opposite side where we had wanted to sit in the first place. They were just 2 and not a group of 10. Not sure what they had that we did not have. I will go to this restaurant from time to time for lunch with colleagues and each time I must say the staff is very unfriendly.
Too bad because the food is good! They should work on improving their table side manners.
