Amarone Kitchen & Wine Ratings and Reviews
We had a most spectacular evening! The ambiance, the food, the wine were all amazing!!
Sandro the owner made it more special with his gracious personality! So helpful in suggestions and very lovely and upbeat! It is wonderful, small and cozy! Can't say enough good.
Absolutely delicious! If you are looking for an authentic Italian dinner, look no further!!! Hands down, it has the best pomodoro sauce in L.A., and I'm picky! The owner is absolutely lovely and the overall experience is simply wonderful. It's a perfect spot for a date night.
I've been enjoying the culinary expertise of Santos for a number of years and NEVER have I been disappointed ! I've enjoyed dining upstairs with 15 friends and allowed him to surprise us with a combination of Italian seafood delicacies--and delight us with Italian comfort food prepared flawlessly. Other visits are just my son and myself, with fare that feeds the body and the soul.
The wine list is impressive as well-- not generic libation but finds from his visits ' home' to Italy.
You will not be disappointed, I promise.
Phenomenal food combined with friendly service. A lovely and familial atmosphere.
All the pasta are handmade in their ample kitchen and are paired with rustic yet edgy sauces.
My only wish would be to improve the ambiance with background music ( maybe Batisti or some other Italian jazz.)
Leaving the door open to the noise of Sunset Blvd. traffic is off putting and it doesn't allow the a/c to function efficiently.
Our dinner at Amarone Kitchen was wonderful from start to finish. Great Italian wine selection, delicious handmade fresh pasta, and seasonal ingredients. A great addition to the area of WeHo on the Sunset Strip. The staff was outstanding! We can't wait to go back.
Always great service & food in this Italian restaurant I keep coming back to, even though I don't live anywhere near it - it's almost my Cheers, LA-style! Sandro the owner and host is delightful and can often be found at the stove as well, making whatever his mamma once taught him! The polipo with canellini beans is sinful; the fresh parpadelle with prosciutto delicious. Limited list of perfectly executed dishes, always made fresh in house. They are also very good at finding little gems of Italian wines - try their Super Tuscans or Barbera d'Asti. The dark upstairs room is very romantic (though it can get noisy if full). Go! Don't miss this well-kept secret disappear from the Sunset Strip (super convenient to Viper Room, Roxy, Whisky-a-gogo, London Hotel, etc.)!
Service is super friendly, and we liked how quaint the restaurant was. They do not have a very big menu, but what they do have is good. The bread is made there and is very fresh. They have a parking lot in the back, so don't worry about parking on Sunset. I highly recommend. It was a nice surprise.
Being 2nd generation Italian American I rarely go out for Italian food. It was amazing, simple dishes done right. Fresh made pasta like my Italian grandmother's, in a wonderful simple sauce. I actually ordered two servings it was that good. The ricotta cheesecake, known as pizza dolce in our house, equally amazing. My next trip to LA will include a trip to Amorne.
We went early on a Thursday and were greeted by the owner Sandro. He was very friendly and helped us decide what to order. The food was exceptional. We argued who had the best dish. It was nice and quiet . We sat in front just inside the window looking out at the street activity. My sons talked about there dining experience for days. We are anxious to return to L.A. so we can go again
Had another wonderful meal at Amarone, this time with another couple. The octopus appetizer was beautifully prepared and started the meal off in grand fashion. We split a green salad, then had two great pastas - one with venison and the other a tomato and sausage ragu. We finished off the meal with my favorite mainstay which is the pork chop Milanese. Great, friendly service as usual, and the noise level allowed us to chat at a normal voice level and not shout at each other as in many other spots around town. We love this place!
