Amarone Kitchen & Wine
Sandro & Lilly Oliverio
Always the most amazing food and service — a regular customer here.
Wow, a little storefront on sunset with homemade pasta and fabulous Italian wine. I had a spectacular pork chop and we shared two bottles of reasonably priced Amarone. . . .terrific service as well. Ask for Bella!
Picked this spot based on location and on-line reviews. Loved it based on the staff and the food. The owner/manager personally prepared an appetizer for us and made great recommendations on entrees. Our waiter was personable and attentive, even with a celebrity and his entourage sitting next to us commoners! Didn’t have time for dessert but everything else was fantastic.
Love the owner Sandro who has put his heart and soul into his quaint Italian restaurant. Accidentally found this wonderful little place by surprise while visiting this area of town.
We had a fabulous meal at Amarone last week. It reminded of us of a quaint Italian restaurant in Italy. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The owner was friendly and thoughtful about helping us decide about which wine and dishes to try. I recommend the prosciutto and burrata appetizer along with the pasta bolognese. Fresh pasta with a simple but incredibly delicious sauce. We will definitely come back!
Excellent dinner. The owner loves every plate into existence. Definitely dine here.
Sandro's the man! Always 5 star food, Service and Wine selection. I highly recommend this to Italian food fans who love homemade and fresh organic ingredients. It's a Winner!
A delight. We were welcomed like old friends, and the food was superb. A definite must, and somewhere we will return to again. And again.
We had a wonderful dinner here on our last night in West Hollywood. We were visiting our son and wanted to go to an Italian restaurant. He and his wife have been here before and highly recommended it. We know why. The food was great and the owner (and cook) was very personable. We all had a pasta dish and for dessert we shared the flourless chocolate cake which was delicious. We'll be back on our next visit.
the evening was great the food and attention we received was very very good . It was like going to a friends home dinning room
The restaurant was rather small, but added to the wonderful ambiance. We sat upstairs where we remained the only customers for the rest of the evening. It was excellent to not dine in a place that is so loud. Our waiter was from Italy and had some difficulty understanding English. However that only added to the authenticity of the restaurant. The wine and overall menu were small, but offered excellent choices. I had the tagliatelle beef ragu...it was amazing. The pasta was homemade, and the sauce was the perfect consistency. My date had the shrimp, which was also superb. Note: only 6 shrimp were offered, with no side. If you have a big appetite, consider ordering an appetizer also. The wine was from Italy and was also wonderful. One of the best Sauvignon Blanc I’ve had. For dessert we had panna cotta...also was excellent. Overall I can’t wait to return. They’ll most definitely be seeing more of me.
Great Pastas, good wine list, friendly staff. Good dialogue with owner
Excellent authentic Italian food. Friendly family owned restaurant with attentive service and a reasonably priced wine list. Slightly weird Sunset strip location but worth the effort to find it. You won’t be disappointed!
Fantastic experience. In town for one night and found this place around the corner from my hotel. Welcoming, personal, and fast service. Fantastic food, good wine, and a cozy dining room. Definitely worth a trip!
My wife and I shared our first date together ten years ago at Amarone. We went back to Amarone to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary just this past weekend and the memories came flooding back! Sandro was a joy to speak with throughout the evening, and his food was spectacular. The barolo wine was delicious, and the homemade pastas were perfectly cooked. What makes this space special is the ambiance.
My husband and I went to Amarone Kitchen for the first time. It exceeded our expectations even after reading all the great reviews. The service was excellent and the food and wine delicious. The owner, Sandro, treated us same as he treated his regular patrons who were at two other tables. It was a lovely room with great ambience. We will definitely return.
Always the best. You feel like you are in a small town in Italy when in Amarone. We love love love the place.
Neighborhoody, focused on the food, intimate experience. Premises are a little scrappy but they make up for it with what matters.
Great food, intimate dining space, and attentive staff. Always a pleasure to dine here, and I always leave feeling like it is a special hidden gem.
I don’t know how this restaurant gets a 4.8 on Opentable! It was a major disappointment for the three of us!
The salad was fine, but the octopus was tough, and overall the food was bland. I never tasted homemade pasta that tasted like cardboard before. The bucatini special had practically no seasoning or guanciale.
Even the wine was hardly drinkable.
As far as I am concerned it was poor food st a high price!
My favourite restaurant in LA. I make sure I go there every time I'm in the city.
Amazing service and food. One of the best pastas in the city. The owner is a nice lady. Stuff is very friendly and nice
We LOVE Amarone Kitchen! The food, ambiance, and service are amazing! We had a beautiful evening there.
Food was great but the wine we selected was disappointing considering the price. Also, the food portions could have been a bit more generous.
Amazing. The food was great and the owner is incredible.
This place, food, & service is always amazing!! One of my favorites!!
For a decade, Amarone consistently offers great food. You feel like you’re eating your meal prepared by either a celebrity chef or your nonna (grandmother). Right on Sunset Blvd. , it’s the place to go!
Great quaint little place off Sunset, really enjoyed it. Personalized service and the food was excellent.
Delicious as always!
Love Amarone. Best, most authentic Italian dining in LA.
Food and service were outstanding. We had the Special that evening of Veal Scallopine with a Lemon Caper sauce. Veal was tender and cooked to perfection. We also had the Tagliatelle with Chingale(wild Boar) sauce. Also excellent. Not quite like you would get it in Northern Italy where the sauce is a bit darker and not as tomato-ey, but still great flavor and the Homemade noodles really give it authenticity.
Will definitely go back again when we're in the neighborhood.
Always a wow - Amarone is a hidden gem. For our most recent visit we had the Prosciutto e Burrata, Pappardelle al Prosciutto and Rigatoni Salsicce. All 100% authentic and delizioso! Antonello, our server, was the real deal, Italian, charming and knowledgeable about food ( after all he IS Italian!). If you live nearby, or are staying at The London, you are missing out if you skip Amarone’s delightful ambiance and authentic Italian cuisine.
Wonderful restaurant. Everything about it is first rate. I'd like to tell everyone how great it is, but if I do, I might never be able to get a reservation again. It's not a very large room. I've been there 4 times, and each visit has been memorable.
We had a lovely dinner here. Owner brought a nice bottle of wine
Sandro very gracious and informative about his cuisine. The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was really big. The special as paw Agra’s salad was great as well. The risotto with black truffles was terrific as was the bronzino. Pane cotta dessert scrumptious as was the crime brûlée. The Amarone wine was smooth and very tasty. Can’t say anything bad.
We went to Amarone for my mom's birthday dinner and it was excellent. Small, intimate and the food was perfect. We had an early reservation and had the luck of being served by the owner/chef. The pasta was fresh and delectable. Try to house red and the tiramisu or flourless chocolate cake to top everything off. Wonderful little place.
Just perfect! Atmosphere, food, service, feeling. By far, out new favorite in Hollywood. Dined there 2 of the 3 days we were in LA on business, and can't wait to come back. Portions were perfect.
Such a wonderful restaurant!
Great food, service & ambiance!! I look forward to going back!
Came here for my birthday tonight and the pasta was fantastic! I had the bolognese and a special heirloom salad. I wish they had the salad on the permanent menu because it was the perfect balance of citrus and freshness. Service was ok, but the owner was exceptional and on top of everything. The restaurant reminds me of a wine bar you’d find in New York. They made my birthday very special. I’ll be back again.
