Super nice.. I have repeated 3 times same week
Completely disappointed - avoid the large entrees and stick to the snacks/appetizers and drinks.
Early lunch so not crowded and food was superb!
Our visit to Amara was one of the most disappointing service experiences we have ever had at a high end restaurant. We sat at the table for almost 15 minutes before being greeted, waited 45 minutes for our raw seafood platter appetizer, and when the shared main course came we didn’t have any plates or flatware and had to sit and wait while the server found some. The server never seemed terribly interested in us, never apologized for the wait, or really engaged with us in any way.
If I’m going to drop $100+ per head for dinner then I think it’s fair to expect excellent service. There are plenty of great and expensive restaurants in Miami, I would skip this one.
Great place, great food and excellent ambiance!
Overall, good place. Our server had poor coordination with the kitchen staff and served our appetizers and entrees at the same time. Not sure if I will go back.
Really loved dining here; the atmosphere, food, and service were great. I would only say that when we ordered the shrimp cocktail and they were out, the waitress brought us another cooked shrimp dish, but I think it was really langostino, as they were meatier and tougher than shrimp; didn't care for that replacement dish, so wish they had been able to replace the shrimp cocktail with something else. All in all though we did have a lovely meal and definitely would return.
We took our out-of-town guests for the beautiful view when dining outside. Although I had requested an outside table there was none available when we arrived. Inside the music was at an unbearable level. We asked the manager to turn it down and he did immediately. And then he found us a table outdoors. AND brought us two appetizers on the house. Turned out the table was under a leaking balcony. After three of us and the table were repeatedly dripped on we asked for another table. Which the very attentive manager found for us. After a bumpy start, we had a lovely meal (whole fish-which my friends could not enjoy more; empanadas which were very good; a crisp arugula salad) and three gratis appetizers. Our server was a young girl who also could not have been sweeter and more attentive. Our friend has numerous allergies and all were carefully attended to. CONGRATULATIONS to Amara for great service! And food!
This place is amazing, not only because of the food, but unfortunately, I had an incident that it made me very mad.
The Dominican guy from the valet parking stole my Iphone chord charger from my glove compartment, so I suggest you don't leave anything on your car, because it's not safe.
Other than that, everything was perfect!
Food and service was great! We would definitely go back.
One comment, the valet parking is terrible. There are no clear instruction on where to leave the car, we drove up to the umbrella and were told we had to go around and park the car at the end of a line of parked cars. Because of the location, it took us about 10 minutes to get back to the valet area. They should specify where the drop off area is as its at the end of the block from the restaurant.
We were seated at the covered patio but two of the seats were wet due to condensation from the roof's edge. After searching for the maître d we were promptly moved to an adjacent table. Service was a little slow at first but understandably so because the restaurant was extremely busy due to the boat show crowd. Once our new waitress took over, service and food was great. Location was beautiful as well! Definitely recommend, especially for a date or celebration.
Arrived at our reservation 40 min early. Kindly made our way to the hostess in which she quickly told me to check back at 2 because I was early. Could have been more cordial. When I said, could you note that we are here and take our number and let us know when the table’s ready? Her answer - “no, check back at 2. I have reservations every 15 minutes between now and 2 that take priority.” It was our anniversary and I didn’t want to let it ruin our afternoon plans and have to search for another restaurant which would have ended our weekend getaway on a bad note. We get seated, waiter was great at the beginning. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, drinks and a salad. The waiter? He never came back. When we were able to flag him down - an HOUR later, he asked if we wanted anything else, we kindly asked for the check. Needless to say, we will not dine at Amara again. This was our first and last visit. It’s a shame because the appetizers we ordered were delicious.
The ladies at the reservation desk were just rude and not the best to greet any of us. The wait time was due to the weather i believe, since not many people were able to sit outside.
Food came out fast and the waiter made up for the wait time... The Octopus, yuca fries, ceviche and the empanadas were excellent!
However, the lady from the valet parking was not in the mood to service people. They didn't know where they had park our car and when we asked, she looked at us like we were crazy.... Then, we asked one of the valet guys and he explained to us what was going on. He had better service than the lady behind the keys.....
Very windy..service not as great as the 1st time we went...still overall went well.
They seated us outside, but it was raining very hard - and even with the zippered coverings, the wind and water still made the dining too unpleasant, so we decided to eat at the bar as all inside tables were taken. Others followed suit, and it appeared to overwhelm the bar staff to have to make drinks and serve dinners. Service took a hit, but overall was good food in a nice environment.
First time we went the fish entre I ordered was excellent!
I came back and ordered the same dish since I enjoyed it so much the first time.
Me and my husband were disappointed that it was not hot. It was served luke warm, the yuca mash under the fish was very little compared to the 1st time. Quality was not the same.
Valet pricing inaccurate.

We had the most horrible service. First off, the valet is archaic. We had to wait in line quite a while for an attendant. It took a while for our waitress to get around to taking our drink order. Our drinks took more than ½ hour, after we realized that they had been sitting at the bar. We had to remind our waitress and then they finally brought them. We actually got our appetizers before our drinks! We asked for more ice several times before they finally brought it but without tongs nor anything to serve it with. Our food took forever and they didn’t bring it all out at once. Some of us had to sit there and watch our food as we patiently waited for the complete order. And it wasn’t even busy! It was a Friday but we had reserved for 10pm, after show, and we were only two couples! It was midnight and we still didn’t have our food. We wanted to leave but at that time we didn’t have any other option. We asked for the manager two times before she appeared. I have to give credit bcuz she was so apologetic and agreed there was no excuse for the terrible service. So much so that she comped us the whole meal and sent us additional drinks and a dessert as well. That was a surprise for us and much appreciated although we would’ve preferred to pay if we would’ve gotten the fine meal we were expecting. The food was average and not worth the hassle. I’d be very reluctant to recommend Amara to a friend for fear they’d be just as disappointed as we were.
Excellent service Good food Beautiful place Excellent comfort
Amazing environment, great food , great place , will go back 100%
TOP, Amazing, Incredible place, view, food and service!
Great location and great food except dessert selection poor. If you’re diet is non dairy be careful what you order. Would be nice to have Indications on ND items
Very nice experience with good Latin American flavor and outdoor seating close to the water.
Horrible service. For the price, the server could have been more attentive and respectful. Also basic limitations to the meal were disappointing for this level of dining.
