Amazing food and very good service
The sushi is great. The drinks are very creative. I enjoyed the company of my friends.
A great experience as always.
Food was ok for the price, yakitori skewers were a bit though and not as flavorful. Very nice atmosphere though. The hosts kept hovering around since it was a bit slow, it would be nice if they stepped back a bit.
Wouldn’t recommend
Great drinks
Miso ramen was really delishhhhh
Thank you for making my birthday so special. The service, food, and establishment was outstanding all around!
I love Amami Sushi. Took two buddies from Manhattan, who were open-minded about crossing a bridge for Japanese food in Greenpoint, but also were spewing some "show me" skepticism. They are now converts. I start with the enormous vegetarian ramen -- and leave room for the sushi/sashimi side of the menu. Good whisky list too.
Cool ambiance and vibe, but unfortunately the service was not up to par.
Terrific service, great food, nice decor. Try the miso ice cream, which sounds strange but very good!
Every time I go I love this place more and more :)
We went for a birthday. They gave us a complimentary fried cheesecake! Great experience and great food
Amami is a treasured location every time we’re in Brooklyn and it seems extremely undervalued given it’s always empty at the lunch timing we tend to hit. A fantastic value lunch menu makes this THE sushi joint in Greenpoint for us and they would have to make some huge mistakes for that to change.
It was a great date night restaurant. Ambiance was pretty cool. We were able to sit at the sushi bar where we could bare witness to the talented chefs create these amazing plates and rolls.I had the Spider roll and the King Crab roll, it was good. Nothing overly special, but good. I had the mezcal based cocktail which again, good. It was Valentine's Day(night), so we felt a tad rushed to flip the table. I would go back!
My family and I had Sunday dinner night at Amami. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The interior of the venue combined the elegance Japanese design with its hip Brooklyn flavor. The food was delicious. We had the Yakatori to start, which was grilled to perfection. The sushi/ sashimi for two was beautifully presented with a fresh sampling of a variety of fresh fish and house rolls. Our server Aphen was knowledgeable and thoughtful with his recommendations. The cocktail program presented a Japanese twist on traditional cocktails. Bartenders were warm and friendly. The owner/ chef came over to our table to greet us and see how we were enjoying our meal. You can tell he really cares about the guest experience and his craft. Dessert (my favorite part of every meal) was a perfect way to end with the tempura fried red bean ice cream and cheese cake. From start to finish, it was a great experience.
Food was incredible and the staff was great! One of the best ramen dishes ever had! The Tuna Salmon Twister Roll is a must!
I had a wonderful experience, the service was awesome. Everyone was kind and had a great energy about themselves. The food was delicious, the sushi is to die for....plus the wasabi was fresh. I would recommend the American Dream and the pork buns.......I will be going back!!
Fantastic Sunday lunch
We love to come here on a date or with a large group. Our favorites include the ramen, tuna tartare, kushiyaki, and sashimi! Excellent beverage program and friendly service.
New Years Eve date night sushi dinner. Good sushi and sashimi selection and fun drinks in Brooklyn.
The ramen was mouthwatering! Perfect for an nyc winter. This place is reasonable priced and delicious.
We eat sushi... A LOT. First time ever visiting this place and very impressed. Quality of fish was great and rice was seasoned well. Compared to Manhattan very a very reasonable price for the quality. We will be back!
Loved it! Awesome atmosphere in a great neighborhood.
We booked this reservation through OpenTable Rewards and had a certificate which was supposed to be applied to our bill. When the check came, we were told they wouldn't accept the certificate (even though they were listed on OpenTable as a restaurant that accepts these rewards). We wouldn't have eaten here if we had known this. The food was just fine, not really worth the price and was a little fishy. We definitely won't come here again, there are much better sushi restaurants nearby (try Kyoto or Wasabi!)
Great oortions of fresh sushi, friendly and attentive staff and management plus yummy cold green matcha
At first I was skeptical. Coming in during happy hour for dinner can be a disaster if not done in the right place. The first dish ordered, shishito peppers, was poorly executed, but once the sushi came out, all my worries were gone. Such a great spot for an easy bite of quality sushi (ikura, hamachi, crab). Small intimate setting for a causal meet up or dinner out. Will come back if in the neighborhood again.
Food was excellent (we had a table of 6 and ordered lots of sushi). Time from order to table was also very reasonable considering it was a Saturday evening.
Food is always fresh. Service is always top notch. They take my food allergies seriously; conscious and attentive! Love this place!
Awesome service, fantastic and tasty menu options, cool Restaurant decor, great location, have the chicken and the lamb
Decided to drop in for dinner. The hostess was really nice and our friendly waitress (Amber) did an amazing job all night. We loved the food and will definitely return to our favorite sushi place ...
This is one of my fav sushi places in NYC. My friend lives in the area and pushed me to try. Boy am I glad I did. Been craving this place since. Drinks by Asif are superbly done. Sushi rolls are beyond excellent and innovative. Dishes such as purple potato fries, crispy shrimp, octopus legs, shishiso peppers are all delicious. The service is very friendly and welcoming. This place is extremely relaxing and wonderful.
Food is absolutely delicious! We had a great time!
Feels like a high end sushi restuarant. Attentive staff, friendly. Food was good to excellent. Depended on the meal.
I came here 2 nights ago, and already made another reservation for tonight. The fish is fresh and of good quality, and the house sake was great (and plentiful, esp. for the price).
Love this place!
Really happy with the food and drinks. Took care of us really well and was one of the better sushi spots in Brooklyn
Everything was awesome, especially the dessert!
Great fresh sushi at a good price. The 2 person sushi platter for $55 was an excellent deal - highly recommended. I will be back!
The food was great but the service was pretty slow. Every dish took forever to come out even if it was just the sushi for 2! Service was great :)
