The food was great. The service started out good. A waitress dropped some drinks on a diner. It was unfortunate, she seemed apologetic. But it was like the wait staff forgot what they were doing. Our waiter walked by a few times, could not get his attention. Finally got the check. Seemed like a one of so will definitely go back.
This is a beautiful little restaurant with great food, amazing servers. It was a perfect brunch for us.
Two private parties in the house, and the place was hopping. Husband loved his pork chop. Cocktails and Lamb burger were yummy. Service was excellent.
great restaurant and amazing food. definitely will come back. ohh, the drinks were really good too!
We were a bit concerned when we made the reservation because the kitchen doesn’t open until 530 and we had 7 o’clock theater tickets. The staff was very accommodating and got us out so that we didn’t feel rushed while we were eating or as we were leaving. None of us have very big appetites, but we all felt the portions were small. The ambience of the restaurant was delightful.
Always great. My go to place when I attend the 59 E 59th theater.
The place wreaked of a potent floor cleaner like pinesol or lysol.
Wine selection was yucky and expensive. Pasta dish was minuscule. Giant prawns were advertised as warm but cool. The sorbet we think was frozen yogurt. We loved the baby lettuce salad.
We would not go back.
Food and service was excellent! I just found this restaurant even though I’ve been many times to their other delicious (but loud!!) restaurant next door, the Bar room. This was my second visit to Amali and the waiter even remembered the wine that I liked from my first visit. The food both times was delicious. Don’t miss the broccoli and the roasted carrots side dishes. This is my new neighborhood favorite place.
The whipped feta was absolutely to die for and the octopus was perfectly cooked and I love the way they served it. The bronzino was really well cooked but nothing to write home about. this restaurant is known for its extensive wine list, however, the wines by the glass are very limited. I would love to see some more unique options on the by the glass list. I really struggled with the service here. it could have been because we were there at sort of an off time between lunch and dinner but still for the cost they should be on their game consistently.
The staff at Amali were fantastic! The food was delicious, and we’ll definitely be back soon!
The food is great, the atmosphere is great. My only complaint is that the portion size of the pasta is too little for the price. Reduce the price for that portion of pasta or add more for the current price.
good food............................... Price was a bit unexpected.
The food was absolutely delicious! Loved the interiors too.
The food and service was amazing. Great menu. I can't wait to return.
Our food was so so and the service was horrible. We had to ask our server multiple times for more bread, my tea and for salt/pepper. Food was bland - 3 of 4 people had to season food to eat it.
Good ambience, good food
I expected more. Food is ok not amazing and service is rather slow but they are friendly
Amazing! One of my favorite places in the city
The food had no flavor, and the restaurant can not be classified as Mediterranean. The dishes were all over the place, no cohesiveness. I had the monk fish with the curry coconut sauce, the fish was tough and
breaded with no flavor, my brother steak was bland and so was my mother's pork chop. Finally the dessert was bitter. It was not a good experience.
Food and Service was Excellent!!
Intelligent Menu. Tasteful decor. Simple, but classy dishes. Agreeable lighting.
Will come back as soon as possible.
Booked dinner after seeing the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. We ordered the dips to share (cauliflower hummus, feta and carrot dip)- all were delicious. The fish of the day was Fluke and it was delicious. The homemade pasta, the beet salad, the roasted carrots, braised lentils- all amazing. The waitstaff was attentive without being disruptive. Dinner was wonderful
Perfect!! A must for a special occasion...
Another delicious meal at Amali! The eggplant was superlative, and the staff extremely friendly. A wonderful spot in a neighborhood that can be difficult to find a nice meal.
Thank you for the champagne and gelato - it made the evening special.
This was our first time here at the recommendation of a friend. What a wonderful find in our neighborhood. The service was beyond friendly (our server was Abigail, she was great) delicious food and outstanding cocktails. Very nice setting, we will definitely return to this place over and over again.
Love this place. Food is always excellent - great service and atmosphere.
Very limited menu
Oversalted food. Ordered many items and the amount of salt overpowered each dish. Servers were a pleasure to dine with and the music was a lovely touch as well. Great atmosphere.
The ambiance was relatively pretty and calm and the noise level was acceptable . Service was helpful and polite. Even though it was crowded we were not rushed from our table.
Lunch with the girls after a morning of shopping. Fresh, delicious and light farm to table dishes paired with wines from Spain and Greece. Highly recommend!
The ambiance was good, cozy cute restaurant! The food was just ok! We ordered the green salad it was just wholefoods salad served on a plate with lemon and salt dressing! They didn’t put enough effort to present it better! The seafood pasta and the steak were ok but it was way too salty for my taste! Overall was just ok! The service was good though!
We had a terrific meal with our good friends. There were no issues with our reservation. We sat in the back room which had a large party there as well, but I would say the noise was no more than mild to moderate, and honestly it’s New York... everywhere is loud!
The food was excellent. My friend has celiac and at least 1/2 the menu which was gluten free and all the desserts were gluten free as well. Our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our questions and requests.
I don’t think the food took any longer to come out than any other restaurant, but we also knew that everything is prepared in a fresh and sustainable way, and therefore worth the wait (if any).
The service was very good and the chef even came out to speak with us about his creations, which was a very special treat.
We will for sure be back and had a terrific night with great food and drinks and a wonderful time with friends.
Wanted so much to like it, but it was truly awful. Super noisy and loud atmosphere, took 45 min for our food to arrive. The "warm olives" were served cold. My veal appetizer was 4 pieces of putrid, cold, rubber - atop oversaturated, wilted arugula. My companion had the chicken entree which was fine. NOT a lot of gluten-free options, despite their advertising.
I randomly found it. The burrata special was AMAZING, the lamb and risotto both winners... I didn’t have time for the wine... I have a feeling it was good
Really confused service. Food was sub par for a NYC restaurant. Execution of dishes- some inedible due to too much salt and not a thoughtful preparation. Servers seemed annoyed to be there.
Very nice neighborhood place, great bread, reasonably priced wines. Shared 2 of the pastas, both delicious. Nice that there's a 15% discount for being a member of 59 E 59 Theater!
Good food and service a little slow. Overall positive
Mona - would like to strive to be better. If there is a dish or item you remember dragging please let me know. Thank you for your feedback. James
