What Insiders Are Saying
The food at Amali is both interesting and delicious, which makes it stand out from the rest of the overpriced stuff in the neighborhood.
Food was amazing but the service was adequate at best. Told the waiter we were gluten free and he failed to mention the appetizer we ordered was on bread. Had to ask numerous times for such things as salt and oilive oil for the table. Waited 20 minutes for an expresso and to top the night off I recieved the wrong bill.
Always an interesting menu, delicious food beautifully served. Service is very friendly and competent.
It’s seafood is nice, the lunch menu doesn’t have a lot of variety, but service is great
The decor and location of this restaurant are ideal for midtown business. It is expensive for the level of cuisine. The service is mediocre and food nothing to rave about although it is alright. 200 plus tip for lunch for two. 1 buratta 1 octopus 1 fish 1 pasta 2 drinks 2 cappuccino 2 deserts
The chef knows food and his kitchen, no question.
Pork chop isd as good a restaurant test as how good they can make a chicken.. and my prok was just great.
And the polenta cake that came with it, was the best polenta by flavor and texture i ever tasted.
Highly recommendable. all dishes in a group of 7 were very well received and appreciated.
Sommelier is very knowlegable and unpretentious, makes you very comfortable disregarding your personal wine expertise.
Michelin start quality all around, at reasonable price.
Traveling to NYC and seeing family. Stayed in midtown so this was close to hotel. Fantastic fresh fish.
Bartender (Matt) made some delicious cocktails
Waiter (Masha) great service and very friendly
Kitchen (dishes)on point and fresh ingredients.
An outstanding experience by any measure except the noise level, which made conversation--even at a table for two--difficult.
Always pleasant and very tasty food
We will be back
Lovely atmosphere, good food, big portions, and well located on 60th St. between our garage and our theater. No wonder we come here so often.
Lovely place. Low key and cozy. Salmon and scallops were terrific.
A fantastic find on east 60th street off Park. Absolutely delicious and charming
OMG - I can't say enough about this establishment. Made a res for 1 and I was happy to see the cozy bar upon walking in. Enjoyed a fabulous cocktail (A Walk in the Sun- highly recommended) and proceeded with the Funghi Risotto, and the Lemon Semifreddo with Cappuccino. Fab food. Fab experience. Bartender wonderful. Can't wait to return with friends. Thank you Amali! What a find!
Food was prepared well. Portions were small. We had to wait a very long time for our entrees but the manager brought us a dessert to thank us for our patience. A dessert for each of us would have been nicer, rather than one portion for three!
Solid menu reproduced daily with solid service . Wine list extensive with dome good buys for the cognizant diner
The best part of dinner was the salt crusted black bass entree -- it was superb! The side dishes could have been a little bit more generous. Overall, the whole dining experience was great and would recommend this place for sure!
Beautiful place, but the value-to-cost ratio was just so-so. Nice waiters (altho' they addressed my sister and me as "guys" - always a bummer). The table of 12 bride and bridal party was really noisy and inconsiderate.
Amali is a charming, little tucked-away gem on the Upper East Side. It's a modern, yet warm space that's cozy but not crowded. All of the food we had was seasoned perfectly and incredibly flavorful - I especially appreciated their plating, which was thoughtful and artistic. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this as a go-to for fresh, authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a beautiful setting.
Great! Very attentive service
Cozy place with great food and attentive staff. Fish was perfectly cooked, in a unique and delicious sauce. Excellent place for an intimate dinner date.
Great food. Nice space. Very pleased. Will be back!!
Great restaurant with amazing food and service in a convenient location.
We took a job candidate to dinner here and it was splendid.
The best meal we have had in years. The ricotta toast app was so delicious. We had pork cheek entree and the brisket with homemade pasta. Both were delicious. The perfect amount of food. A little pricey but totally worth it! Will def go back!
Really one of the best places for a business lunch in midtown. Food options for the light and healthy or those looking for something more filling and substantial. In the evening the ambiance has a bit more energy and buzz to it which is great for dinners but I like the quieter ambiance for lunch. Really quality spot!
Nice choices that are all well prepared and tasty.
The food was delicious and our waiter Matt was fantastic
We had the trout and it was delicious. Noise level was fairly low, so we could have a nice conversation. The service was pleasant and we enjoyed our dinner very much.
Excellent appetizers and salads, Brick Chicken and trout special also excellent. Wine list seemed pricey. Good service.
Octopus appetizer was tender and delicious! I ordered farm raised beef filet mignon which costs $65. it is really great and delicious but a little expensive. Overall, the staffs are really kind and the restaurant is cozy and nice. Location is also good because the restaurant is close to the R train and Bloomingdale's.
EXCELLENT QUALITY FOOD. ATTENTIVE SERVICE! Great Lunch
Lovely restaurant. Intimate and relaxed. Fresh ingredients, delicious food.
Wonderful service and food! I can’t recommend Amali enough!
Unfortunately they didn’t have gluten free pasta..
good food and a lot of buzz. Crowded and noisy place with good service. Good choice in the neighborhood.
I took me brother to Amali for a birthday lunch. The food was outstanding. Loved the luxuriously rustic feel. Service was excellent.
Meh. Food was delivered cold. Service was inattentive. All specials had prices disclosed other than the one I chose which was 50% more than most of the entrees. Location was convenient for after dinner event but I would not otherwise go back.
I hate to write anything negative but the evening proved to be a little disappointing and expensive. Whilst I like the venue, the service and the appetizers the main courses just failed to hit the spot. Both the Pork Belly and Steak were both chewy and very fatty.
I am all about giving a place a second chance and hope my next visit (next week for an event) proves better.
Excellent food. However, it was difficult to talk in the beginning since the noise level made it hard to carry on a conversation. Once many of the patrons left, we had no trouble hearing.
The little gem of the UES. Charming place, engaged service, special food.
