Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Amalfi at Serra - Eataly Flatiron offers a picturesque rooftop dining experience adorned with "beautiful" Amalfi-inspired decor. The "delicious" food, particularly the pasta dishes, and "attentive" service stand out. However, the lack of air conditioning during warm days can detract from the experience. Overall, it's a "fun" spot with a "lovely" atmosphere, ideal for a special outing.

The decor is very nice. The food and service were VERY European, nothing to write home about.

Can you call it a pop up if it’s been around for over 5 years? Decor is a bit rundown and the food was meh. The staff were top notch tho.

Bad service. Our server never stopped by to check if everything was good, never offered another round of drinks...

The restaurant is cute and well-decorated if you don’t look too closely. Located on the roof of Eataly, it offers 14th-floor views of Midtown, which are wisely ignored in favor of focusing the ambiance inward. Finding the place requires navigating through Eataly to a discreet service elevator hidden in a back hallway, which might be charming once but feels like a chore otherwise. After the elevator ride, you arrive in another semi finished service hallway with signs pointing you up a flight of stairs to the restaurant. There, a second hostess may greet you and let you know if your table is ready. If not, you're welcome to wait in one of four low-slung beach chairs—on-theme, but uncomfortable and especially punishing in the unairconditioned space. Once seated, the setting is initially impressive: a beautiful "lemon vine" covered veranda that almost makes the journey feel worth it until you notice the tired green ball of floral foam holding a sparse arrangement of fake lemons and leaves. It breaks the illusion and reminds you you're dining in what amounts to a glorified service hallway dressed up as a "pop-up." Unfortunately, the food was just as underwhelming. Nothing was outright bad, but it lacked flavor, creativity, and any reason to return.

Exstrmily pricy for what you get , 32$ for small pieces of chicken, no any aside beside,11 $ for a very small focaccia bread . Definitely I won’t recommend this restaurant and won’t get back .

No air conditioning - on the roof in the summer. Even with fans blowing we were sweating. Good was pricy but good & servers were very nice.

DO NOT GO IN THE SUMMER! I had high expectations because the photos made it look like a beautiful place. What a disappointment. The air conditioning wasn’t working, and despite the fans, the heat was unbearable, which made the experience very unpleasant. The food was good, and so was the service; however, because of the heat, we had to leave quickly. Unless they install air conditioning, I do not recommend going on hot days.
