Our experience was first class from start to finish. A wonderfully appointed open space with plenty of tables still created an intimate atmosphere. The kitchen is in open view of the dining area and yet very little noise reached the dining area as the well run kitchen and professional staff was without the chaos of normal kitchens. It server was attentive, friendly and knowledgable who gladly offered recommendations when asked. She chose a wonderful wine to accompany our meal. From the bacon wrapped dates, octopus, crab stuffed peppers our tapas style food was elegant, well proportioned, and prepared perfectly. The pintxos de pollo was amazing. The best chicken dish I've ever had! To top off a wonderful meal, the head chef joined our table to ensure our satisfaction. He was engaging and our conversation lasted much longer than a quick stop to check on us.
An absolutely delightful experience.
Everything we had was amazing! Very creative cocktails and plates. Only thing I wish we had been told ahead of time that the Sunday specials were on the smaller side. We ended up just ordering multiple! Will definitely return!
Exceptional food and wine. Just order one of everything!
I live in NYC and have driven to PHL several times specifically to have dinner at Amada. I was extremely excited and curious to come back a decade later, not counting your Battery Park location. I found service level to have slipped a bit from prior years, except at the reception desk. My date and I went for chef's tasting as usual, and was surprise to see how many times the same ingredient (s) were repeated throughout the evening. There is no dispute that Manchego is king, however we would have liked a bit more variety and creativity. Boquerones didn't make it in this time around. Most of the dishes were on the salty side. The female food runner, was excellent. Wine list was appropriate, moderately priced, and covered various notable wine producing regions.
A/C duct was dripping on my shoulder at intermittent frequencies.
Overall, Dinner was a positive experience, I was very happy to see that such amazing concept stood the test of time, and have no doubt that it will continue to do so for many years ahead.
Thank you for having us.
The manger and serving staff was super accommodating, helpful and friendly! We loved every moment of it!
Years ago this place had amazing food and cocktails. Yesterday, was far from that experience. I asked for a custom cocktail and it came back opposite of what I asked. The food was overpriced for the lack luster tapas. For example, the garlic shrimp was shrimp soaking in butter. No garlic, no spice, just butter. If you want true, authentic food, try Zahav.
One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. Our second visit, confirming how good it is. Decided to order different dishes and wound up not as satisfied as our choices the first time.
I have been to Amada before and always enjoyed the meal. However this time, it was a bit disappointing. We had the Tasting Menu and Wine Paring. Some of the selections were interesting but nothing really stood out as exceptional. The wines were the same - some were good and others were disappointing. Our service was very good but with the tasting menu things seems to come out very quickly even before we finished the course on the table. The Manager came around to be sure all was ok. Once I mentioned to her that the food was coming out rather quickly, she did ask the kitchen to slow it down. I had to ask for new plates after the third course. For the price and place, I should not have even had to ask. Since it was a tasting, a new plate should have been given for each course so as not to merge the flavors. For the price, I would not recommend the tasting and just go off the menu if you go.
The food was way too pricey for what we were served. Most of the items tasted great but a few were extremely salty and felt like a mishmash of too many flavors
This was our first time at Amada but not new to Garces restaurants. As usual, he did not disappoint! Every plate we ordered was delicious and so well seasoned. Our waiter was so helpful in making suggestions and the pace of the plates coming out were so well timed that we didn’t get too full too fast and we were able to enjoy them all. And definitely recommend the chocolate cream puffs for dessert!! Overall wonderful experience and we will absolutely be back!!
Food was spectacular - really nice way to have a lot of different tastes and even eat lightly if you wish. There is certainly something for everybody- the $5 menu on Sunday is a huge bonus. Service was great
Amazing food & service! Best sangrias (plural) I've had!!
My husband and I went to Amada for a belated anniversary dinner. The food was excellent as always...the grilled scallops were amazing. Everyone from the host to our server were warm and attentive. They even brought us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We’ll definitely be back!
Great food, wonderful service! It is a special place in Philadelphia.
I’ve been years ago, well over 7 years ago, and have been dying to come back. My experience was amazing and reasonably priced. Crab stuffed peppers, mushroom risotto, and eggplant were my favorite. I ordered a second stuffed pepper and it took about 20mins. The server made sure it was on the house. Overall great night.
This was our second time to Amada and the food was spectacular! The meat and cheese board was great, but the chicken and pork stole the show! There were 5 of us, and the seated us in the far back room with 3 other larger groups. It was quite loud. But our reservations were at 9pm, so as the groups left it was easier to hear. Don't let that deter you from going!
Good was very good.
4th of July specials and everything was great as usual
The paella, blanca sangria, flatbread and dates are perfect!
4th of July menu was fantastic
I went to Amada on July 4th for tapas and sangtia. Unfortunately the service was slow because the waitress was new and asked to handled an entire room by herself. I believe that they didn't expect the large crowd they had and were short-staffed. Having been in that situation before and because we were not in any rush, we just enjoyed our drinks and tapas. The store manager came by several times to place our order and to see if we needed anything else. I noticed she was doing this all around the room which was very gracious of her. When our check arrived, she had comped several items on our bill which was completely unnecessary. Needless to say we still tipped on the full amount. The waitress was very apologetic and had a good attitude about her difficult first day.
This is a small plates format, so you get a lot of tastes, and I think all of ours would get a solid C+ or B-. The gambas al ajillo were tasteless, but the oil gave them a light zing. A half fillet of red snapper was also edible but unexciting. The "wild mushrooms" were tasty but not wild. The lamb meatballs were so-so. I don't think I had a bite of anything that made me feel eager to have a second bite of it.
The restaurant was a surprising find. We have nothing but compliments for the kitchen and the wait staff.
Came here on a date night with the gf. Every dish we ordered was fantastic. Our waiter, Nick, walked us through pretty much every item on our menu to help us pick the perfect selection of dishes to share between us, and he was super knowledgable about the wine list.
We've been raving about this place to everyone we know.
We had another excellent dinner at Amada. The lobster paella was awesome! Thanks again for another wonderful evening!
This was my first time at Amada. The interior decor is relaxed with nice ambience. My girlfriend and I had great cocktails including sangria, a gin and tonic, and a bourbon concoction. We each had the tasting menu which had great variety with sufficient portion sizes. We were very pleased overall, however, the service dropped off later in the evening. I am assuming they sent some staff home and were understaffed which caused our server to be very busy. At the end of the meal she did not come back for at least 15 minutes to get us dessert and check. Would recommend and return though.
Food was incredible! The service was impeccable! Would definitely recommend. I only wish the portions were larger because the food is sooo delicious. Will be returning soon.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at brunch. The food was absolutely perfect, and the service was impeccable too. We always have a wonderful experience here and we are never disappointed. I think the prices are very reasonable even considering the spectacular food we are served. Thanks Amada!
Very good food, great service
This has been our favorite restaurant and we know the menu by heart. We always go every year fro my husband's birthday. This year was a little different. The food was still very good, but the portions got a lot smaller, favorite items were taken off the menu such as the asparagus with poached egg and the clams and chorizo dish. The peppers were a lot smaller than before. The place was not busy like it always is. We still love it here, but a little disappointed in the changes.
My family and I ate here over the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We reserved a table last minute but we were able to score a table for the four of us right when dinner service started. The overall experience was very nice. We actually got the Chef's Selection, which basically took all the guess work out of what to order since it was our first time. We had a total of around 11 dishes over a span of four courses. The overall meal was very satisfying and the tastes were unique and exciting. At a cost of $65 per person it is a bit pricey, but the experience and the service was worth it.
Truly fabulous food. Can't wait to come back
Octopus is sooo good! Avoid the pork shoulder tapas it’s just dried skinny pepperonis. Shrimp, lavender cheese, lamb meatballs, sausage with Spanish omelet. Pricey, but good. Get the red sangria.
We went for our anniversary and did the Chef's tasting. Highly recommend! Everything was amazing!
Great food, staff helpful and attentive. Can get noisy with many large groups but the open atmosphere was fun and inviting
Wonderful food! The flatbread was awesome and had a great crisp from the grill. My husbands skirt steak was cooked to perfection and my shrimp were tasty and had a nice smoky flavor. Interestingly, Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother was sitting next to us, which added another element to the dinner. I would certainly return next time I'm in Philly and recommend this restaurant!
Lovely tapas and great Sunday offers. Excellent service.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Amada. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Everything we tried was excellent!
I highly recommend Amada for the great food - flavorful, creative, and visually appealing. It’s a true dining experience! A bit disappointed this time in the service (unlike previous experience here). Hostess was great, but the waiter was often not to be found.
