In my opinion an overall good experience with 2 items from the menu not being at the expected standard for a restaurant of this category. The red snapper tapa was no fresh and tasted mushy so sadly I had to send it back. Then we ordered 2 portions of Pernil asado (in retrospect we should have order just 1, order a different entree and shared. Internally the pork meat was ok but too salty. The outer layer which contains fat and the pork skin is expected to be crunchy but still moist from the fat and yet this was too dry, hyper salty and even hard to chew so it was a missed opportunity for a great classic of Spanish cuisine. Other tapas and entrees we ordered (croquetas, octopus and lamb meatballs; vegetarian) were very good and tasty. Drinks and wine were good and the ambience music was fortunately Spanish music and flamenco tunes as I expected and enjoy. Definitely would return and hopefully the menu will be back to normal considering the challenges and restrictions the pandemic imposes to restaurants wit sourcing and other challenges. Btw, as it was my bday dinner, I was given a nice chocolate dessert which was excellent and then ordered a cheese cake to share with the table.
Great food. Really enjoyed it. Best tappas in Philly
Food came out way too fast. One dish was inedible but server didn’t seem to care and we paid for it anyway. As he delivered dessert he said “I’ll bring the check”. We were going to order after dinner drinks but he seemed like he wanted us out so we left.
An amazing experience. Our waiter was fantastic and very helpful. The food was amazing - great atmosphere for a romantic dinner.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Food came out very fast. Great service. Our meal and drinks totaled 275 including tip. A little high for my liking but my wife and I left full and happy.
Fun place! Very tasty and we really appreciated that our restaurant staff/server brought a birthday treat and candles for one of the members of our party. For a moment, I almost felt like I was in Barcelona's old city and not in Philadelphia's Old City.
Great service , food was different and great
Had tapas and the main course. The tapas alone were enough and were excellent.
It was a lovely friendship date! Everything was amazing- service at the bar and table was excellent. I’ll be dreaming of that menu and I can’t wait to come back soon.
Perfect night out for a midweek dinner. Service is friendly, attentive, and professional. Food is delicious. Between two people you can try out a lot of dishes which is very nice!
Dined during restaurant week! Food was tasty.
First course: I didn’t care for the peppers but I thoroughly enjoyed the cheese, sliced apples & honey!
Main course was delicious; the hanger steak is amazing.
I didn’t care for my dessert either (cheesecake). Overall my experience was great and I would come back to try
Their regular menu for sure. Our waitress Gia was personable and attentive
Great meal, all the courses were fantastic and well prepared. Best meal we've had in a while.
I went on Restaurant Week and was pleasantly surprised at the portions even with the plates being tapas. I have had better service - my gold standard for service is Bistrot La Minette
Restaurant week at Amanda was fabulous
So many choices and they ensure you get plenty of food!
One disappointment was the desserts were not at the same standard of the rest
Always fabulous--this time no disappointment.
We went during restaurant week without realizing. No proplem, many of our favorite apps were on the smaller rest week menu: Green Salad, Manchego with honey and octopus. we tried the hanger steak and turkey milanese--both excellent.
Sangria & service are first rate as always.
Cannot recommend Amada enough! Phenomenal food, creative menu, helpful and kind staff, beautiful seating area. Truly an unforgettable experience.
Lovely restaurant week menu. Would return to try more from the regular menu.
Great food! Great ambiance! Great drinks! Lovvvvvved our waitress Leilani.
Will definitely return.
Amazing food !!
Amada never disappoints! Great small plates, cozy environment and the staff is always friendly. If you’re not used to Spanish cuisine or just looking to try something new, this is the place. Best part, if your not familiar with what you’re ordering, your server will be very knowledgeable.
Love the food and service! Will definitely come back again!
I love Amada! The food and drinks are always delicious and we always have great service. It's a great place for a group or a date night.
Don’t go for restaurant week. Terrible food, everything was cold, slow service, and we were placed in an overflow room with bad overhead lighting that still had Christmas decorations
Staff was super friendly, food was amazing, price was high, but with the quality of food we got it was worth it
I went to amada Wednesday evening as I have done for every restaurant week for the past several years. The food is always good and I like the clever range of options they give you.
I do have to say an honesty that I could notice corners being cut maybe they just decided to offer some different items this time and they have in the past but it was apparent to me that some of the more expensive items from the past were no longer on the restaurant week selections.
The food was great. Surprisingly very unique and satisfying. The ambiance was also so nice and relaxing. Our waitress was a little cold and wasn’t as welcoming/accommodating but other than that everything was awesome for restaurant week!
Husband’s birthday dinner! Went for the price fix evening. They kindly brought us 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate, on the house. Warm, inviting ambiance. Would go again!
Everything was excellent! We will definitely be returning.
they were doing restaurant week so there was a set menu. in retrospect this was good because it effectively introduced us to the tapas style which we had never experienced before. basically it's more of an array of small plates that can be shared rather than individual large plates. however "small plates" does not mean you'll be hungry when you finish - the three courses (app, main, dessert) that we had were entirely satisfying, even for two relatively large guys. as a result of the restaurant week menu we got to sample a good proportion of the restaurant's menu. I would especially recommend the hanger steak, the green salad, the snap peas, the wild mushroom rice and the cauliflower. I should also say that one of our party is vegetarian (not vegan) and they found satisfying choices. Staff is very helpful explaining some of the Spanish dishes and attentive without being intrusive. Plates come out as they're ready so don't expect everything at once. One of the cocktails is exceptional: the "Rose Gold" (vodka, rosemary, passionfruit) - slightly sweet, a little tangy, well balanced flavors.
Also- located in the historic district and VERY close to the Museum of the American Revolution. So great place to catch either a snack or a full meal after visiting the museums or historic sites in this part of Philadelphia.
Server nice! Food good! Very pleasant atmosphere! Would go here again!
We loved Amada! The atmosphere is great for a date & the food is amazing. The only thing is the portions are very very small so if you’re hungry I would recommend ordering two orders of something you really like or order more than is recommended. We really enjoyed all the food but were hungry shortly after leaving.
Clean, attentive staff, and delicious food (as always!). We'll definitely be back :)
Lamb chops are the best anywhere. We had Garlic Shrimp, Shortrib Flatbread, Manchego with lavender truffle and some great Spanish red wine.
I chose Amada on a whim for my partner and I's 1st Wedding Anniversary and we absolutely adored it. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for, something quiet and cozy. The food was fantastic, every small plate that came out was better than the last. I can't say enough good things about this place, so I'll just say we will definitely be coming back. Thank you for making our evening special.
Our shankshuka was overcooked. Service was terrific. The ambience has good bones but could be updated with fresh chairs and some soft elements. This is a strong classic in Philadelphia that needs some updating.
We used to love Amada so we were so disappointed that the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. The service was also really slow but I understand that they may be understaffed. If it weren’t for the food being so sub par from previous times I would not have complained about service.
Our paella was undercooked! We left the restaurant hungry!
Also the server kept on saying we were using “coupons” to pay but it was actually the “bonus” amount we got for buying $1500.00 worth of gift cards!
Chefs and severs need more training. Amada’s service and food is not at the same level as it was!
Was not impressed , they need to revamp their whole menu. Seems bland , the Benedict's we're all melted in with no flavor . Best thing about the brunch was the avocado toast .
Set plate meal with wine tasting paired to perfection. This was a culinary delight on New Year’s Eve. Just brilliant!!!!
