Our reservation was for 10:15, but we arrived an hour early and they were able to seat us overlooking the kitchen prep area. Nice! Server had casual manner and was attentive. Tapas arrived quickly after ordering, and they all hit the spot. A complimentary braised shortrib flatbread arrived mid-meal. We had ordered this as well, but luckily it was our favorite dish so we were stoked to see another . The octopus (pulpo) was excellent, if not a little too salty for my taste. Total bill was under $100 for six tapas, 2 drinks, and dessert, which is a fairly decent value considering you are in Old City. We would return again.

The food was fabulous: very fresh, perfectly seasoned, with lots of creative little surprises. Vegetables are treated with respect. Seafood tapas impeccably fresh. We ordered a bunch of small plates followed by a shared lobster paella with squid ink. Savored every bite. Really, I could find no fault with the food. The noise, though, was pretty unbearable. The place was packed. We had a table in a nice back room that was fine until a table for twelve in the same room filled up with a noisy bunch. Then we could hardly hear each other and had to shout at the top of our voices. Not pleasant. We’d have asked to change tables, but there clearly wasn’t another free table in the house.

Amada met my high expectations for an exciting meal. We booked the prix fixe Valentine's Day dinner reserved weeks in advance and it a fantastic meal and fun experience. And we especially appreciated friendly and attentive service and a rose for my Valentine!

The food at Amada is always outstanding, so I remain loyal for that reason.
But on the past few visits, I have noticed that the decor is in need of some attention: tables were wobbly and seating needs to be reupholstered. the wear and tear is especially noticeable during the daylight hours.

The food was very good but I think the french fries are a bit too smokey. I couldn't eat them but then I shouldn't eat them. It was an easy decision to forego them. The sandwiches were excellent. The service was lacking and I guess I always take points off when I'm asked, mid chew, "how is everything?" If I'm eating it it's fine. Good place to go pre-Ritz Theater.

Food was great, just like in Spain. I am from Spain so authentic Spanish, only issues the portions are very-very small, and expensive for what you get. I actual left still hungry. Also the Graces Trading post items are cheaper on Amazon, they should at least match that price if you eat a sit down meal. Incentive to sell your inside items. Over all very good and I recommend, but don’t be shocked at the small portions.

Had a fantastic dinner here on Tuesday night. Food was excellent. Server was attentive, and very helpful. Table was a bit small, but that’s nitpicking. Wine selection is very good, but overpriced. I would definitely go back, but probably order a glass I lieu of a bottle of wine. Get the lamb meatballs - outstanding dish.

While the food was very good, the portions were ridiculously small even for tapas standard. We ordered 1 more than the suggested 3 per person and still left hungry.

This was our first visit to Amada, though we had wanted to get there for years. The food was excellent, and portion sizes were generous for a tapas menu. The Patatas Bravas was amazing. Consider these are basically mini baked potatoes with some seasoning and sauce, and I don't care much for potatoes, and yet I couldn't get enough of these things. We also had the Pulpo a la Gallega (great), Ensalada de Jamon (different and wonderful), Amada's Empanada (really good, though I would prefer it to maybe contain some chorizo or other meat), Pimientos de Padron (fine, but no reason to order these), and the Lubina from the grill menu (again, fine but nothing I would order a second time around). All of the other items I would consider ordering again on a second visit. The stars were the Patatas Bravas, the Ensalada de Jamon and the Pulpo a la Gallega. The only main change I would wish for is that they offer a tapa style paella, as there are only two paella options, which judging from the price, would probably be enough food for the entire meal for two people. It would be nice to have a couple of tapa size variations on paella to try.

Our server was excellent, and went back through our selections to address my wife's issue with dairy (we eliminated the Piquillos Rellenos because of this, which was a nice touch). Overall, the drinks were well made though we did not particularly care for the spice-fullness of their sangria. For dessert the chocolate tart was good and the Cafe Con Leche was the perfect ending.

The atmosphere is nice, if a bit overly subdued and it is pretty noisey, so if you do not like to speak up or lean towards the person you are talking to, this could present an issue for you.

Overall, we had an excellent evening at Amada, that lived up to our expectations. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Good service, average food. Decor needs a reno. You’re paying for the name, not the experience. Portions were insulting ... yes, even for tapas standards.

This was the best meal I have had in a long time. My wife and I dine out once a week and this place excelled in every way. Something happened that took both of us off guard, I don't want to tell what it was but it was part of the best customer service I have ever experienced.

A tapas lunch gave us a chance to sample a wide variety of offerings. I'd recommend the paprika potatoes, the crab stuffed peppers, ham croquettes and a sample of the sherries. Service was excellent. Amada is a thoroughly wonderful spot to enjoy lunch.

I took a handsome friend out for his birthday. He had never been to Amada. I’ve been a big fan for years. Our server was magnificent and the food was delicious and plated gorgeously. A feast for the eyes as well as the mouth! The bartender made perfect gin martinis for us to my date’s preferences. Ambience was wonderful.

I enjoyed our meal here very much. It was great tasting food with a modern flair on an authentic menu. You don't think Spanish food in Philly, but this place is great. Coming from a city with great and many choices for Spanish food, I really enjoyed our meal and would certainly come back next time I am in town.

My only negative was the service was ok. It was not bad, but the server may have been overworked as it was hard to get a hold of her at all.

I’ve been to Amada twice. Once the week it opened, and once last night. Clearly 10+ years of 200+ covers a night has taken a toll on the place. Service was friendly if not a bit self-important. Ambiance was really lovely and loud and shiny people everywhere. The food however fell flat. Most dishes were uninspired. The roast suckling pig was dry and bland. The standout was the truffled honey served with the manchego. One of our dishes was completely forgotten and when our sweet but harried server brought it out, it was almost ice cold. They proactively comped the dish but the damage was done.
Overall I’m glad Amada exists and will drink at the bar, but will go elsewhere for dinner next time out.

We were not seated until 8:25, our reservation was at 8pm. The hostess was not nice about my asking why!
We were then seated next to the front window which was very cold!

Other than that, everything was great. Food, our waiter, etc. was perfect.

Amada was an elegant restaurant with many food and drink options. While the food was fresh, we did expect higher quality in terms of the flavor of the tapas dishes and the portion sizes for vegetarian options. Similarly, while all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the service was overall poorer than expected, especially in terms of hearing orders correctly and checking on us periodically. In general, we had a nice dining experience, but definitely expected a higher standard, given the price of the food and the caliber of restaurant.
