Food was delicious. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation, and then our server kept disappearing (45 minutes before we got to order). Food was great, but terrible service with no sort of apology or anything really detracted from the experience.

My husband and I went during Restaurant Week as we love tapas. This was the 3rd time we have eaten at Amada. We were promptly seated in a back room which was much quieter than the front room. Being Restaurant Week the special menu had a excellent selection of dishes and the food was delicious and nicely presented. My only complaint was the size of the pour of wine. For $15 dollars it was a very small pour. It wasn't a huge issue, but I felt a bit annoyed.

I have heard a ton of buzz about Amada and since I am new to the area I couldn't wait to try it out. We went for restaurant week and were treated, in my opinion, like lower class. My friend and I are young professionals, the waitress was snobby, didn't come to our table often and the rest of the staff wasn't very inviting. Food was interesting and good but did not WOW me by any means..I would come back but with all the great food in Philadelphia I don't think it would be in any of my top choices. I think that if the staff was less pretentious it would make the experience much better.

The food was excellent! Service got a little spottier as more of the lunch rush came in, but we didn't experience any issues. It took a while for our dessert and check to come out.

It was the last place I went on a date with a girl I fear will never be convinced of my love for her again. It was the last place I sat with her across from me to gaze into while all was calm. The ambiance enhanced all the closeness we truly shared and the eating style allowed us to intertwine utensils. I want to go back just to dream of finding her there.

This restaurant was great. It had great food and a nice ambience. The only thing was that some of the tapas were way too salty, like the octopus and chicken for example. I recommend you ask the waiter to ask the chef to put less salt.

My wife and I visited Amada for restaurant week. There was a wonderful selection for the fixed price dinner and the food was delicious and sufficient. We arrived early and sat at the bar. The bartender turned me on to a cocktail that had been unfamiliar with. Overall, a great experience.

Went during Restaurant Week so maybe that was the issue but the portions were tiny. The food itself was pretty good, but we left hungry. I believe they probably scaled back on the portion size due to it being Restaurant Week. Maybe we will have to try again when we can order from the regular menu and can therefore control how much food we get.

Let's start with the food - it was amazing! I booked our reservation two months early to be able to give it as an Xmas present to my wife. As such, I didn't realize I made the reservation during Philly Restaurant Week during which there was a special prix fixe menu. Nevertheless - the menu was delicious. The patatas bravas were incredible as was our dessert. The Broken Hugs cocktails were perfect, as was the sangria.

Our server was so attentive and gave us continual updates on our food, was very good at answering questions and was generally very helpful. He made the entire experience worthwhile.

Now the bad part. We made reservations for 7pm. When we got there (a few minutes early), we were told our table would be ready in "5 minutes". But we didn't get seated until 7:45pm. This same situation occurred to many others who had reservations. We stood near the hostess desk and heard them tell folks with 7:30pm reservations that it would be 5 minutes which we KNEW wasn't true since WE had been waiting 30 minutes at that point.

What bothered me wasn't the wait... it was the dishonesty. We had plans for after dinner, and I'm sure others did as well. Honesty about how long the wait would be would allow people to decide if they were able to wait or not.

And even worse... when someone told the hostesses that they'd be leaving because the wait had been too long, the hostesses spent the next 15 minutes or so bashing the person amongst themselves (although I heard them just fine). At one point, they said to each other: "He was about to get a seat in 5 minutes". How? If I hadn't been seated yet 30 minutes in, tell me how he was going to magically get seated in 5 minutes?

So the hostesses attitudes' needed some serious help. And they need to learn to speak to their customers honestly rather than trying to keep them in the restaurant by saying "5 minutes" when that time would be much longer.

The food was great. The service was just ok. One issue- I sat on one of the benches by the window. When I got up to leave, the wood on the bench pulled a string, and ruined one of my sweaters!

Everyone always raves about Amada. I wasn't impressed. We were 15 minutes late for our reservation due to an Uber problem and we couldn't be seated. So, we found a spot at the bar. It was Restaurant Week so there was a 3 course menu. The server was very short answering our questions about the menu. There was no description of the tapas on the menu. Everything seemed to be potato based when it was served. But, how were we to know? The menu read "Spanish Tortilla"...more like a glob of undercooked mashed potatoes. The ambience is quaint and the sangria is awesome once you get over the underwhelming food and rude wait staff.

So Delicious. We got the Chef's tasting menu for $65 each. Everything was delicious and unexpected and fun. It was too much food and my suggestion (if anyone cares) would be to have another tasting menu with maybe 9 courses instead of 12 for approx. $55 each. I think I would enjoy that more because it was just too much food and it just kept coming. I definitely would appreciate and enjoy it more if there were less!

Overall the visit was amazing. The cocktails were fantastic and the food was delicious. The tapas were a little smaller than expected, for 3 people we had the meat and cheese mixed boards, 4 different tapas and the lobster paella. The only thing I didn't like was how salty the paella was with the black squid ink, but other than that we would highly recommend Amada.

Amada is an exceptionally consistent dining experience. I love the selection of tapas; whether you like fish and seafood, meat, vegetables, or cheeses, Amada has something for everyone. It is wonderful to share a variety of items with friends and family, so you can get a taste of many different foods. The ambience is nice and service very pleasant. We truly enjoyed the desserts too!

Amada is a very fun place with well prepared, authentic tapas with interesting tastes. Usually its pretty noisy but it was an icy night - making it all the more enjoyable. My only criticism is that the wine list is extremely overpriced. Once you get higher than 3x retail for a bottle its price gouging. For an informal place it's really not right and takes away from the fun if you want to have a glass or two or a bottle. All said, I would go back and order beer instead! Enjoy it.

Although all of the tapas offerings looked delicious, we opted to get the traditional paella, which we are unable to get where we live. It was delicious, though the additional piece of grilled chicken breast was a bit dry. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service was attentive and professional. Good location. Comfortable atmosphere.

Excellent authentic food ( I am from Spain😉). Small portion- smaller than tapas in Spain, but very nice cooked and visually attractive.
30 minutes waiting since the party in our reserved table did not want to leave( New years lunch), the staff accommodated us as best as they could and offer the 2 bears we had while waiting.

Although the restaurant was full, no one rushed us or made us feel we had stayed long enough.

The “mechanics” of the tapas and how they would be served was not explained: ordering and arrival of food to the table was odd, veggies last, etc. Server did not bring out food, food runner was not trained to explained dishes- drinks were not consistent- over priced- table was not ready when we arrived although we made reservations

It’s a shame, this was probably our 10th visit to Amada, as its one of our favorite restaurants in the city. Food was great as always. Unfortunately, from the time we sat down until the time we left, we seemed like a bother to our waiter. We would see him every 15 or 20 minuets, and each time was with an attitude. When we spoke to a manager as we were paying, he didn’t seem to care either.

We will certainly go back, hopefully it will be a better experience.
