Overall it was a great do I g experience. Stuck to the tapas and plancha menu, which was great fun. The cocktails were very good, especially the white sangria and the specialty G & Ts. Not the very best food we’ve ever had, but certainly all very tasty. We also enjoyed the casual atmosphere, though it was a touch loud. Would go again.
I love Amada! I can always count on the food to be so very good! I recommend the red wine sangria too!
Please get the tasting menu with wine pairing. You get so many beautiful tapas and Spanish varietals!
This is a tough one for me. Amada is a neighborhood favorite of ours for years and I am trying to give restaurants a good amount of slack with the pandemic, but this most recent experience did not live up to the usual standard. The food was pretty much the same quality (although a couple dishes with some seasoning issues), however, I noticed they got rid of the smoked tuna dip that usually comes at the beginning of the meal. I assume this was a budgetary cut. I also noticed the usual seafood paella was no longer on the menu.
My biggest issue was the service this time. Our main server was not very personable and even borderline rude at times. I read another recent review about their rude server and they had a baby with them. It sounded like a similar experience to ours, so maybe this particular server hates kids (we had our toddler with us). As with any tapas place, we encounters many servers/runners who would drop off food and clear the table. There just appeared to be a lack of standardization across the board. Many times a runner would put a dish down and not explain it, or put a dish down and not clear the many empty dishes on the table. They definitely seemed annoyed also to get us clean plates at times when new sets of tapas came out. A couple times, dishes (like dessert) were placed down but no one had silverware.
Overall, this will not prevent me from returning, but I do hope they can train new staff more consistently and make sure servers are kind and attentive. I would love for all my Amada reviews to be excellent in the future.
We choose to do the $65 Tasting Menu. We received a nice selection of Tapas, Cheese/Meats and Mains and it includes a dessert too. The Tapas were amazing! Next time, I think we will just order a bunch of Tapas because we found the entree option they gave us (Turkey Breast) to be a bit underwhelming compared to the Tapas. Cocktails were delicious (Mojito and Tequila -based cocktail called "Pain & Glory") Ambience/Vibes/Service were all great. Will definitely be going back!
Our server Ray was exceptional. He went above and beyond to make our dinner memorable.
Go on a Sunday to get the 9 plates for $45!
Phenomenal food and service. Even brought champagne for my anniversary.
It was a perfect place to celebrate. We had a fantastic time and the food was better than we expected. The tapas offered were all unique in their own way. The service was exceptional and we're very pleased with the server's communication of each dish.
The service was exceptional. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food lived up to its reputation. Definitely coming back!
An unbelievable experience from start to finish!!
Anniversary dinner. Service and food were outstanding. We had charcuterie, tapas, and dessert with a pitcher of sangria.
Saturday afternoon brunch
5 guys, we went for happy hour. Great value for quantity and quality .
Will go back!
We have not been there for years and the food is so good...We can't figure out why! Anyway like we said the food was delicious and well timed and spaced out so we didn't feel rushed. Our server was polite and knowledgeable about the food. Wine was very
good as well.
We had the bacon wrapped dates and both flatbreads. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we had the diver scallops and the red snapper. Can't even begin to say how good this meal was. Highly recommend these dishes. Finished it all off with creme brulee and cheesecake. The food, service, and noise level, all perect.
Tiny portions for the price. So so tapas. Prefer the restaurant Tinto.
Always a good time at Amada. We had the tasting menu ($75) and it was incredible!!
Amazing experience! Food and service was top notch
Amada never ceases to amaze me, with excellent food, variety, and service. Whenever we come here we always leave extremely pleased and satisfied, and it's true with whatever guests we bring too. You can't go wrong here!
Sunday Brunch with interesting, delicious food and drink. Drinks were a little heavy on the alcohol, but overall the meal provided interesting and excellent food. Service was great and I would highly recommend Amanda for a great brunch experience.
Can’t wait to back next week 😉
Got the Chef's sampler and expected it to be great. One or two things were excellent but the rest was just so so. Happy hour wine was not very good.
Love this place. The quality of the food is so good for what you pay. The sangria is fantastic. We went for brunch and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We will be back!
Very nice waitress,servers
Excellent food. Maybe not much variety on Saturday
Brunch at main entree.
Amada has outdone itself once again. Excellent dining experience with excellent food and service. We were there for our anniversary and the manager went out of her way to make us feel truly special. We will certainly be back to celebrate more special occasions. Well done Amada and THANK YOU!
The food was excellent, service was a little slow. Love the pace the food comes out!
Visiting. Early dinner so very quiet. Sat in a dark corner of restaurant. Servers could not see us easily so we waited for new orders. Some portions were tiny and others large, particularly deserts. The food was delicious.
Pretty nice food, just not exceptional food. The wagyu beef and lamb meatballs were delicious!!
Food - was excellent. Fresh ingredients made with care. The tapas were all very fun - we were personally big fans of the scallops, snow peas, and bacon wrapped dates.
Service - very friendly. Our server had some great recommendations and made a birthday dinner very special.
Ambience - on the dim side, which we liked.
Excellent service, wonderful food, lovely restaurant…what more can I say.
This is my third time at Amada and it was wonderful as always. Our waiter was amazingly accommodating and knowledgeable about the food and wine. We had a wonderful time and would come back again.
The meals were not so bad, and Sunday tapas set was reasonable. Our waiter was friendly, but spending too much time at each table although looked they didn’t have enough staffs at that night. We had seated about 5:50, but got our first appetizer at 6:40 and wines didn’t come to our table yet at that time.
Great dinner - we brought guests who were visiting out of town. Enjoyed everything.
Really great food and friendly waitstaff. They were very accommodating of our party’s food allergies.
Best I can say is prices were fair. Tapas were solid, but all entrees were just ok. Worst part, though, was the service. Hostesses were neutral at best and our waitress (short with with medium length hair) was actively rude. Gave us a hard time for not ordering drinks, responded rudely when we asked if one of our dishes was still coming out (all our other appetizers had come out and fifteen minutes had passed without the last), our food took forever to be brought to the table, and to top it off, was rude about a broken glass. My 1.5 year old niece knocked a glass over accidentally. Instead of minimizing a stressful situation for us, she yelled at us not to touch the glass and was visibly annoyed. Then, when she brought the check, all she said is, “I didn’t charge you for the glass, don’t worry,” and walked away. That was it.
We’ve been to Amada twice before for dinner. This was our first brunch experience. We will never go back.
I'm a huge fan of the Garces restaurants including Amada. Have come to these restaurants for years. But the quality of the food has definitely taken a decline. It's just not as it used to be though the service remains quite good.
I’ve been to Amada years ago and remember loving it. I didn’t find the service or food anything special this time around. I did expect better service, taking of empty plates and glasses a little more often, cleaning up the table a bit between the courses and so on. The food was good, not great.
Amazing tapas and paella
Always delicious, timed perfectly!
