Amanda never fails to satisfy that need for spanish tapas. Amazing food, great wine and alcohol selection. 🙌
Amada was recommended to us and we highly recommend it to others. The entire of menu was fabulous and we couldn't decide, so we went with the chefs tasting. We loved all of it!
We are visiting from Canada. Food was delicious-service was great! The manager checked in with us. The server had great recommendations. Loved it!
A wide range of tapas very creatively and surprisingly cooked. Loved the Sangria and the staff are outstanding and super friendly and attentive. Great location in old city Philadelphia
All good. Mid afternoon seating. Great time to be there.
The crab stuffed peppers are awesome
Food was great; staff was great. Back room has dingy atmosphere. Total bill very expensive.
Went above and beyond
First time to Amada and have to say we were pretty disappointed and underwhelmed. Main complaint is that the food was way too salty - the octopus, lamb meatballs, mushrooms and prawns were all too salty. The fried eggplant looked and tasted like something you'd get at TGI Fridays - all batter and no eggplant (although the rosemary sauce was good). So 5/7 dishes were sub-par. The green gazpacho was delicious.
Very nice restaurant. Great location easy to find very nice people
Came back to Amada for a birthday brunch and out of town friends get together after we decided it was too hot to stay in and cook. Everything was excellent-warm and friendly service, fantastic food, and a great atmosphere. Portions were more than generous, we had to take some things home...everyone left happy and quite full. Thanks for a beautiful time, we’ll be back again soon!
Brunch was wonderful—you get too much food in the price fix option. I brought a group of young men who were stuffed! Everything was done perfectly—drinks were awesome too!
Meats/cheeses, dates, wild mushrooms were good
Waygu was chewy
Rose gold, shipwreck and two other drinks were very good
Pernil Asado was some of the driest pork I’ve had in a restaurant setting, almost inedible
Our paella was extremely rice heavy, mussels were small and dry, over cooked as burnt rice was stuck to bottom of pan
Main waitress was not that great with menu selection and offering suggestions compared to many recent philly restaurant visits with excellent wait staff, we were not even offered desert menu
We have been to spice Finch, Vernick, zahav and vedge in the last 6 mos and this experience was forgettable compared to those
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was terrific. Would definitely recommend Amada to anyone who likes a unique dining experience.
While I liked the food and our waitress was nice, I would have preferred for a couple of the tapas plates to come out together vs one after the other. There was also a very long delay in the middle of our meal (our waitress seemed annoyed at the folks in the back). We never received one of the tapas plates we ordered (the sausage) but didn’t bother to ask for it because we waited so long for the last dish. By the time the waitress asked us if we wanted dessert we didn’t bother asking for the missing dish because we were so tired! I even think we were charged for it but couldn’t remember what the name of the dish, and didn’t want to spend anymore time at the restaurant to get it sorted out. Dessert was delicious though. :)
We did the tasting menu for 4 people - everything was delicious and the service was excellent.
The service is unbeatable, they make you feel right at home and go above and beyond. Typically when you eat at an upscale restaurant it's so hard to choose one dish, but here with their sharable tapas that are generously portioned, it's easy to sample the whole menu! Best restaurant experience and food in Philly!
Happy hour is only at the bar which they didn’t tell us until we’d already been seated in the wrong place, but otherwise great once we were able to be moved!
The food at Amada is exceptional! Every dish was delicious, flavorful & perfectly cooked. Friends of mine have just made a rez for this Saturday night (based on my recommendation). We will back!
We walked in and got a seat right away. We did the tasting menu and everything was perfect. defeat spot for a date night in center city!
Service was excellent. Portions were small were cost. However, food was flavorful and enjoyable.
We are fans of Garces’ restaurants but this last visit was very disappointing. Service was less than acceptable. Our waitress barely visited us on a night that was early and not particularly busy.dirty dishes were left in front of us for the duration of our meal. We would have hoped the manager might visit our table to check on our party but he just walked about the restaurant. He didn’t appear to visit any table. Nor did the hostess say a basic “how was dinner”, “enjoy you evening “. It felt like there was now attention to detail that was always present in the past. The restaurant use to feel like a well tuned machine but you always felt taken care of as a customer. Now it feels like they are just going through the motions. For a Spanish restaurant i would hope they bring the passion back. Please.
As always - wonderful!
Food was fabulous. Server was not great and not up to the level we’d come to expect.
The food was great. People were nice. The manager was really friendly.
Great food and great service. Most of the portions are small so you can try a lot. Would definitely go back.
Excellent every single time!
Everything was great, and service was particularly outstanding!!!
Fantastic food. Almost too filling. Did the prix fixe for brunch and it was amazing.
Fabulous food, the service was inconsistent. Bar support was very slow to the point manager comped a round of drinks for us. Beverages should never lag the food. We ate our appetizers with water. Loud.
Amada was a great place to take my parents while they were visiting! Great server, he made sure we had plenty of time to review the menu and answered any questions. The only downside was we are seated in a smaller room next to a large group that was quite rowdy; this just detracted from the experience. All in all great time!
We’re 6 locals who’ve been to Amada a number of times. Friends are moving out of state, and Amada was a stop on their farewell tour. Table wasn’t ready to start, which was fine-it happens. Friendly staff was quick to check on us, and sent us to the bar for sangria while we waited.
Good to see they’re still full on a Thursday night. We ended up at a table in the front at the window that had no AC-it must have been 90 degrees. Pregnant friend asks if it’s possible to sit elsewhere-the hostess explained there wasn’t anywhere else and that the AC cant keep up and the front 2 tables are always hot because of the windows and door that kept opening. This wasn’t during the heatwave, it’s already 845 PM and the rest of the place and the bar were cool.
As we’re sweating through our clothes, they take forever to get a drink order to the table. Pregnant friend has to keep getting up to walk back where it’s cool, and other friends are getting up to fill their own water glasses from the busing station throughout the meal. Unacceptable in most establishments, let alone at this price.
We opted for the chefs tasting as well as the up charge for better lamb/paella course. They were nice enough to accommodate things that would work for a pregnant guest, which was great, but the menu wasn’t really explained and as each dish arrived, they were just left at the table with very little explanation. We were trying to pair wine with our dinner, but it was hard to do since we had to corral staff just to get our server back to order wine (other servers said they couldn’t put a wine order in?).
It was nice to see the food has still held up well-it was largely good and the problem wasn’t the kitchen at all. The service was terrible here. What started with the AC annoyance became a total fail when they forgot about us throughout the evening and we had to track down service. Very frustrating to see-tasting dinner for 6 with wine and drinks ran 800 ish. Won’t be back anytime soon.
The food was very good. It was just a little bit pricey & the restraint was loud.
Oh my, Amada was incredible. Tip: skip the paella and just get the Parnil Asada. It was INCREDIBLE, and very filling at $18 in a tapas place. Chickpea curry was great as well, and the paella WAS very good.
Great food and great service. Mars was our server. He was very attentive.
Every single plate was amazing, and came out super quickly!
We had a spectacular time at Amada. First, we arrived early, even before the restaurant opened and it war a scorching hot day so we were eager to be inside. Thankfully we were enthusiastically welcomed in sit at the bar while the chefs, servers and rest of staff set up for the evening. Within minutes we had cocktails. Once seated our server, Candy, was the star of the night. She presented the cuisine, the restaurant, and the wines expertly and with just the right amount of conversation. Being big fans of Spain we ate entirely off the tapas menu, three courses of three tapas. Highly recommend dates, peppers, octopus, crab cucumber gazpacho, lamb meatballs, incredible mixed cheese plate and sherry for dessert. All creatively executed and prepared. A very high quality and fun experience! Will go again when in Philadelphia.
The roast pig was delicious. Sides were okay to good. Service seemed a bit frazzled, but the overall experience was great. Would definitely go back next year
Four of us went to the special Suckling Pig roast. It was wonderful. The side dishes were excellent. The sangria was very good. Our servers were attentive. We had a great evening
