This was my first time eating at Amada. I’d heard good things about it from the food being great to the gin n tonic drinks being the best in the area. Amada certainly did not disappoint and I’ll be sure to return to test the gin n tonics. We dined for lunch with a party of 7. There were several areas that would accommodate us comfortably. The atmosphere was really nice with an inviting open concept dining room with views of the kitchen. Everyone pretty much ordered something different and everything looked amazing. They offer a nice lunch special which our party would recommend. I personally went for a tapas style lunch and ordered 3 small plates: Potatas Bravas, Cauliflower, and an Avocado Quinoa Bowl. It was the perfect amount of food. Each of them were great but the Cauliflower was my favorite.
Highly recommended for business meals.
I’m looking forward to returning for dinner.

Ordered drinks and the appetizers at the same time
Here comes one tapa out of the 9 we ordered
The tapas started coming like droplets and the paella we ordered over an hour before ends up taking 1 hour and 20 minutes.... it was just good food with bad service

Went to Amada for lunch and ordered their lunch special - chorizo / white bean soup and the serranito sandwich with fries. The soup was very good, with an even balance of ingredients, but the chorizo was cut a little bit large. The sandwich was delicious although the egg felt a bit out of place at times. Fries were delicious and the aioli went well with both items. Overall, would go again but probably stick to ordering one item since it was a lot of food for lunch.

We went friends went out for a get together lunch and tried out the chefs choice menu. The food was coming good but all of a sudden the waiter mentioned to our shock that was the last plate. We were taken back as we were not served of our dessert as well at that point. And when we questioned the server he mentioned he will check with the chef and said he was gracious enough to offer us a dessert apart the small plates of food that was offered to us. At the end your stomach should be happy n content with the food. One of our friend who has very little appetite usually compared to us was also left hungry. Now for the food it tasted good displayed perfectly and the servers didn’t know about few dishes of what they were serving. Overall it was disappointing for the price we paid. You spend 200$ for good food which makes you and your tummy happy. Both didn’t happen here.

Glasses of wine are expensive for lunch time dining. The last time I dined here, I had a nice green salad that consisted of sliced avocado, asparagus, and green beans. I selected the same salad that mentioned all of the above. What I got was chopped green salad leaves with very few small pieces of avocado, a few pieces of the ends of what I believe were asparagus and no green beans that was stated on the menu. My friend order a shrimp dish that was recommended by the waitress. It was a small dish that was hardly called a lunch filled meal. The price I paid for what we got, I was greatly disappointed.

3 friends - we loved it! The food was amazing, the ambience just right. Even before the food came, we were all in agreement: great place! The table next to us were celebrating a birthday and chose the tasting menu - it was served by the manager himself! - and the food just kept coming! They insisted on sharing their dessert - fabulous! All in all, we had a delightful evening. We'll be back!

It depends on where you sit - unfortunately, we ended up sitting closer to the kitchen in order to avoid a table with lots of loud kids. After apps started arriving, a kids birthday party (15+) sits right next to us.
Service was slow.
Portions are very small.
The check was extremely high for a family of 4 - even by NYC standards. It would have been less if we went to a high end steak-house.

The tale of two visits...

The first time we went we had an awesome time, ate at the bar, loved 4 of the 5 dishes. Don't order the croquetas, underwhelming.

Two days later we went on a Sunday at 9pm (website says OPEN till 10pm), walked in and they told us they were slow so they closed.

Sooooo, call first? Who closes in NYC because it's "slow". Stay true to what you say and we'd have come back. Instead we had awesome food at El Vez, down the street, who were open, until 10, like they say on their site.

Our server couldnt have been more wonderful. I know it might seem a little funny to say, but she had wonderful diction and tone. When I fumbled over numerous menu items pronunciation she joked and repeated it to me, in a very non threatening and non-belittling way. Our only gripe with the restaurant was the numerous menu items being 86'd. The waygu steak was out, the alternative steak was just sold out. While we settled for the waygu skewers, it wasnt the same. Also, after ordering two black coffees our server returned to let us know the coffee machine was not working. We were bummed for a moment, but without missing a beat she had already prepared two americanos, which we couldnt turn down.

A nice night in FiDi

Great place for Tapas. I was intrigued by the lobster paella, but it takes an hour to cook and is for groups of 3 or more. Since I was alone, I had some other Tapas which were delicious!

For a Friday evening during happy hour-ish time, it was oddly empty (both at the bar and tables)... so got seated quickly and of course, were seated directly next to another couple, even though so many other empty tables!

Regardless, we ordered white sangria and it was super sweet, not as alcoholicy as we like it, but decent! Onto the food, 3x crab-filled peppers which were really not as fishy as expected, but definitely was great choice... 4x small lamb meatballs were perfect and sauce on side made it taste even better... 4x sliced short rib and bacon flatbread was quite flavourful and steaming hot and really delicious, horsheradish gave it a nice kick... parmeasen artichokes were very cheesy, my girlfriend loved them... and garlic shrimp, which were standard and with garlicy butter!

After all of that, we got churros and YUMMMMMM - it comes with thick hot chocolate dip and omg, they were crispy and doughy and sugary and just oh, so good!!

In the end, the price was much lower than expected (which makes it all better) - especially with 5x tapas dishes, dessert, and carafe of sangria!!!!

Not happy at all. I got a pork dish with White beans and not only was the beans hard and under cooked but I got 5 small pieces of pork, two of which were pure fat. Their portions were way undersized and when u order a ‘glass ‘ of wine, what u get isn’t anywhere near a good glass of wine.

Honestly, I came here with higher expectations than I should have after carefully reviewing Yelp reviews. The food was either salty or bland with one dish being cold. The only thing that was great was our waitress. She had an exceptional personality, even in a high volume environment. Due to the open space of the restaurant you are seated close to other patrons, and the couple next to us bickered the whole dinner, raising their voices as well, with the man talking loudly on his phone. The restaurant was also missing dishes that I wanted to order as well that they were completely out of. The sangria was especially watered down. Overall, would not come here again unfortunately.

Great atmosphere and decor, food is filled with flavor, good wine list and typically great service. My service was only 3* on Saturday since we had three different waiters who took turns disappearing on us. They were nice when we did see them. I would still go back again since the food, ambiance, and setting are great.

Overall the food was decent. Not great, not terrible, but also not worthy of a return trip. Found it odd that they don't offer a charcuterie board that has mixed meats and cheeses...you have to order one for meat, and one for cheese. All places that offer charcuterie have mixed boards. Additionally, they put way too much paprika on everything. Paprika is too strong a flavor to put it on everything. Ease up guys... Service was excellent and the bar makes a mean martini. If we went back, it would be for some drinks. Other than that, it was ok, but just OK.

My expectations were high before trying this restaurant as reviews were quite positive. Overall quality of the food was mediocre. It's a big restaurant and to me it felt like a good/above average chain restaurant. Some of the tapas we ordered tasted good some were below average. Churros was extremely greasy with a supposedly chocolate sauce.. (never had such bad Churros before). Bar scene looked o.k. Overall, nothing special with this restaurant.

Came in for Restaurant week as I’m a big fan of Chef Garce gastronomic adventures. Glad we came in. The food experience was outstanding. May me feel like I was back in Madrid having tapas by la puerta del sol. The service was on point and the ambience. Everyone seems happy. We were happy. Thank you. Will definitely go back and try their brunch specials and their family style Cochinito.

Went here for restaurant week. They brought 4 courses, 10 different dishes. The menu variety was well thought-out and superbly executed! The only room for improvement would be the dessert selection. There was only one option - what a tragedy (kidding) - which was the chef's version of an "egg cream." The caramel sauce was overly sweet and there was no chocolate. In other words, we're huge chocolate fans, so it's a staple in our dessert choices! =)

Other than that, the star of the dishes was the pan con tomate and short rib flatbread. Delicious. Will definitely come back!

Amada was disappointing after reading rave reviews ... went for restaurant week for Saturday brunch and the fare was average. The bread was super hard and tough ( thought I may have to go to the dentist). Only noteworthy was their Serrano ham. Better to go with their unlimited offer of prosecco for 2 hours at 15 dollars than getting one glass for 13 dollars. Might be good for people living in battery park to meet up for happy hour drink and tapas but not the best local option for a good meal.

Me and my husband went to Amada on a date to celebrate entering the 8th month of pregnancy. I was craving the seafood paella and the churros. Unfortunately the server told us that they run out of churros and the paella takes an hour to prepare. He showed us the restaurant week menu, I told him that I have many food restrictions (cause of the pregnancy) and some of those dishes I won't be able to try them, I asked if I could have a few alternatives and he reassured me that the chef will be happy to make a few small adjustments, so we went for the restaurant week tasting menu. When the second server came to take the order he said that no adjustments can be made. The first courses arrived, a selection of cured meat and cheese. I asked if the cheese was pasteurized cause I can't have the cured meat and I was told that it wasn't. I watched my husband enjoy the first two courses while I waited for the next ones. The next one was grilled asparagus on an egg sauce (that I couldn't have) and grilled octopus with fish egg (roe) as a garnish that again had to pick it out so I can at least enjoy the octopus. The rest of the courses were fine so I've managed to get some food. Overall I feel that the restaurant could have been a little bit more accommodating, being pregnant and watching other people enjoy their food while you wait is certainly not a fun experience. I would go again but I would make sure to have a snack just before I get there so I can wait for a whole hour for the paella.

Second time dining here, this time during restaurant week. My aunt and cousin were visiting from out of town and could have not been more happy about the food and service. I ordered the tasting menu and the rest of the table got ala carte. I have to say the res week menu comes with so much food! Everything on the tasting menu comes, you don't need to pick. Our server was very accomadating especially since we don't eat pork.
Highlights: Truffle Honey Cheese, Peppers stuffed with crab, tomato toast and the Wagyu Brochettes are a must!

Been looking for a place that has chistorras, and this one includes it with the tortilla española: win win (although they were super small pieces, it was worth it). I definitely recommend the place.
