Everything was outstanding. The view is spectacular, as was the food and service. We all had seafood dishes. They were fresh and perfectly prepared. In the week before, we dined at the two best restaurant in New Haven, CT. We all agreed that Altius was better than anything New Haven had to offer.

Love this restaurant, however it is disturbing to notice the lights dim and brighten in the dining room at night, this is was told is due to the operation of the funicular next door and it's power draw during rides?! The lights dim and raise the entire time of our visit which I found distracting from our experience. I can't help but wonder if some type of generator or stored power wouldn't correct this for the restaurant?? Otherwise it was a perfect evening.

Only our third time dining at Altius. Won’t be our last. Great service without being overwhelming. I have had three different entrees. My wife has had two. It is hard to order something different because the last thing you had was so good. If you are celebrating a special occasion they always go the next level. Treating you to some extra treat. Can’t beat the valet parking also.

Altius is by far my husband and I’s Favorite restaurant in the city. From being greated at the door by amazing staff, top notch bartenders, a breathtaking view of the city, to a menu that has something for everyone, we feel at home with every visit.

I also enjoy attending wine dinner with friends at this restaurant. Chef Jessica does an outstanding job working with wine experts in her pairings. The ambience at these dinners is one of a kind.

Great lamb dish, excellent chocolate desert. Vanilla rice pudding desert was not my favorite desert. I think it will look better in small glass bowl ( or martini short glass) vs. tall glass. New Potatoes should be steamed vs. fried and less in the dish with Sea bass. Overall was great!

Our experience was very satisfactory although a leaky window did complicate matters. There was a heavy rain storm and the window where we were seated began to leak. It was the only one to do so that we could see. The restaurant management reacted quickly and we were reseated. That problem was only a minor distraction from an excellent meal and the quick reaction was typical of the attentive staff that we have seen on this and ourt earlier visits..

Frankly disappointed. 2nd time there 1st time LOVED IT. 2nd time not so good. Started off great switched our table to a window seat 5 Stars for that move. Greeted promptly, Popcorn amazing. Service fine, the problem was the FOOD. Appetizer Coquilles seemed to have been made a day or two before. My lamb one piece was Med rare as I ordered the other RARE had to send it back. I would now recommend it with serious reservations and let any know now 'IT'S HIT OR MISS" . Use to call you the best restaurant in Pittsburgh, not any more. I'll go back again and give you another shot please don't swing and miss or we won't be back.

This restaurant met all my expectations. We got great food great service and great seating as we were celebrating anniversary. I think their attention to detail is excellent and even when is not inexpensive, it is worth it. Loved it and will certainly go back. The bar seems to be a great place to just stop and have a drink on way to a show or a game!

We had a wonderful dinner at Altius Saturday night. The food and service were excellent. The timing between appetizers and the main meal was spot on. On top of all that is a wonderful view of the city of Pittsburgh. Highly recommend the salmon poke napoleon, saffron tagliatelle, duck and scallops, although their menu changes seasonally.

Great experience at Altius. Impeccable service, fabulous food that was beautifully presented.

My only complaint was my Martini. Not so great. Not sure why. Recommend using premium olives perhaps stuffed. The olives were just not good.

I would recommend to anyone.

We had an amazing dinner! The food was fantastic and inventive. I wanted to try every item on the menu. Our table wasn't ready for 20 minutes despite a reservation, but we had drinks while we waited. Their mocktails are delicious. The only thing that detracted from the evening was the lights, which dimmed every 10 minutes or so. Our waiter informed us this was due to the Incline's power draw. The view is simply unbeatable - even the non-window tables have a beautiful view of the city spread out below them.

The service and the view was outstanding. The food was a little disappointing, unfortunately. Everything lacked seasoning, and had a strange note of sweetness. The pomegranate gastrique on my salmon was so sickeningly sweet, it made anything it touches inedible. My husband's steak had a giant slab of cheese on it and that's basically all you could taste. I was looking forward to dessert, but by the time I tried all the other food I didn't want anymore sugar.

WOW!!! Great service (Rodman was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive) outstanding food (Chilean sea bass and ribeye was perfectly cooked) and lovely view (3 rivers and the city YES!) The Monterey Bay fish grotto has always been our "go to" but Altius has now taken over that title, can't wait to go back!!

The experience was amazing. I took a date out for her birthday and it was outstanding. Our server (I think Rodman) was checking on us every few minutes and always made sure our drinks were full. Serving sizes are more than sufficient. I got the filet mignon and it was bigger than any other place I’ve been too and they cooked it just as I asked. No pressure to dine and get out, they let you eat and drink leisurely until you decide to leave. Great experience.

4.5 out of 5 overall. What would make it a five out of five? Less salt. We felt the popcorn, bisque soup, and crab ravioli sauce were too salty for our taste.
