Altiro Latin Fusion - La Grange
Food and drinks are amazing. Waiter rushed a little and took plates or drinks off table without asking if we were done. He also poured a beer when my husband asked for draft.
It was our first time for dinner there. We had such a great date. Service was amazing Liliana was our server and she was great. Food was fantastic and drink awesome. Dessert we had Flan de elote it was delicious.
Valentines Day!!
Just about everything we tried was very spicy. The server helped but even the things he said weren't spicy were too hot for me. The bigger problem was the noise level. When we got there, it was fine but once it got crowded, the cranked up the music and it was unbearable. When we walked in the door, we were very hopeful because it's a cute place and all the employees were friendly. But once it got crowded, the service deteriorated. Started out as a good experience but ended up a big disappointment.
Food was decent. Live musician was so loud it was hard to hear anyone speak.
Good place for tapas, live music on the night we were there. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re trying to have a quick meal! Apetizer comes out quick but tacos take awhile but they were good! Hallway where restroom is has no lights because they are burnt out??? so it’s pitch black and you have to search for the door!
Overall a great place, but food quality used to be excellent, this last time was a notch down. I'd still recommend it and hope next time I dine there it rebounds.
New Years Eve. Great experience!!! The food was fresh and delicious. The cocktails were also amazing- a little on the higher end in terms of price but were great!
Food was great. Service was slower than expected with the restaurant not as busy.
A great addition to the LaGrange dining scene. Recommended highly and we will be back.
The cocktails were creative and tasty. All the food dishes were wonderful. We especially loved the ceviche and the most incredible paella. We also had the best tiramisu dessert ever, which is an off-menu special - in our case a birthday.
We loved the craft cocktails at Altiro. They were excellent. We ordered three different tacos and shared them among us. Also, we had the Mexican corn. Our guacamole appetizer was tasty but very small. Finally, the fried sweet plantain was outstanding. Next time we will try the Tapas.
They seem to have worked out the kinks. The first week of opening was a nightmare (summer '18). They didn't have enough servers and one woman seemed to be working the whole dinning room. Much better now! Really enjoy it! Great food and ambience!
Good food, but the restaurant was understaffed and it showed.
our waitress was nice, but gave me the wrong cocktail twice and just called it the name i originally ordered. i drank because it was good, but not what i ordered. our waitress also failed to put in our order and realized 20 minutes later so we waited about 30-40 minutes for our food. the food was great. then when we went to pay our bill, she brought the bill, i placed my card. waited another 10 minutes for her to bring another print out of our bill. no apologies or acknowledgement of what had taken place the entire meal, then proceeded to pretty much rush us out the restaurant. maybe next time it’ll be better.
Our drinks and food were delicious. Each of the cocktails are described in detail, presented beautifully, and taste delicious. The food is authentic, perfectly prepared, and served picture perfect. Holiday decorations were plentiful but not overdone. The lightning is very nice, we could easily read the menu yet it felt intimate. The patchwork fabric chairs are artfully used through the restaurant and there is a nice size bar for cocktails or can eat at it as well. Our server was very knowledgable. Our cocktails and appetizer was very timely, followed by our entrees. This was our second visit, our first was equally as delicious and and enjoyable.
Highly recommend. Great cozy atmosphere. The entire staff was personable. We ordered several items and everything tasted yummy. There was live music (guitar with woman singing) which was a great addition. We were seated next to her and we're a bit worried she would be too loud -- but it was great background music and festive. We will definitely be back. Great addition to La Grange.
I've been here twice and it's quickly become a favorite. Great good, especially the mussels, and wonderful service. This is a great date night spot!
I loved my beef tacos appetizers but I feel there should be 4 offered instead of three for your menus price.
Great addition to La Grange. Tried numerous tacos and the pork belly and shrimp really stood out. Also tried the patatas bravas and their take on them was fabulous. Finally, don’t skip on the Mexican Tiramisu.
While the food was good overall, the portions were quite small for the money. It’s a small space and there was a woman singing. She wasn’t good and it was very distracting and loud. The patrons had to shout to be heard over her.
Really loved the food at this place! Service is so bad! After four Bad experiences with the service, we decided to venture back. While my husband was waiting to use the restroom, the candles they had on a ledge on the wall, burnt my husband’s coat. Scary they would even have real candles. Definitely a fire hazard. The owner said she would take care of us. They took nothing off the bill! Very disappointing. After that, my families entrées came, While I waited 10 minutes before mine arrived. I really want to like this place. But it’s so bad! 😬
We were excited to see that this restaurant opened in Lagrange, as we had experienced their cuisine in Geneva Illinois.
Inside the décor is very modern open and bright. The service from our server, Omar, was right on....his suggestions and descriptions helped us make some great choices.
For one thing, the drinks are very innovative, and especially too easy to drink! I had the Al Verde, which used a tomatillo-serrano ice cube that made the drink more and more flavorful as it melted. My wife had the Al Florinda, which was hibiscus (Jamaica) and bourbon, the glass smeared with cinnamon sugar...Wow! I think my favorite was the Al Churo, because of the smoky mezcal, which I love.
For dinner, we shared a bowl of Paella. The seafood was so fresh and flavorful, although I wish I had gotten my own! We also shared a Mexican corn style side, El Elotito.
We really enjoyed our service and food flavors, and cannot wait to go back, especially for the drinks. A welcome addition to Lagrange's dining choices!
Very cool space. Delicious tapas. Definitely order the Organica (margarita) and the ceviche. Everything was fresh and fast service. Nothing like it in Western burbs. Dinner for 2. Perfecto!
Family friendly, delicious, unique Latin cuisine. Awesome drinks, service staff was terrific, took time to explain the menu and ensure we made choices we'd enjoy-- and we sure did!
Had a beyond lovely time! The ambience is beautiful, the food is great and the staff was friendly & attentive. I so appreciated the welcoming feel. I would definitely go back- it is as a neighborhood gem.
We really have a great time at This restaurant.
Everything was great from food to service.
They make you feel at home.
Our first time at Altiro. The flavors were fabulous. We had the guac trio, mussels and skirt steak, washed down with their Organica cocktails. We'll be back soon!
Great food and drinks!
The flavors are outstanding and the presentation of the food plates is top notch. Service was excellent, well timed and not rushed. The piña cocktail with the ever changing melting chipotle ice cube is a surprising gem of a drink. The decor is eclectic and it punctuates their fusion philosophy with style. Oh, yes, the paella fusion-style... was a huge hit at our table. Highly recommend this place
We Had An Amazing and Great Time!! The Food was 5 Stars, the Room was Beautiful - 5 Stars and all of us Loved it! When we left our friends asked for a to go menu and then asked our waitress to mark off the items we had ordered so when they returned, they could try different items to eventually have everything on their menu. Yes we will go back soon -- yes it Exceeded our Expectations in every way!!!
Great new place. Not enough server staff
Absolutely the best service ever. Very welcoming. Drinks unique and excellent. We like the tapas idea and sharing small plates, allowing us to try a variety of their tacos. Definitely will go back!!!
We were excited to try this new place in town. It was not a positive experience. It is unfortunate because the food was very tasty. However, the kitchen needs to get their act together. Our drinks took about 10 minutes and it was possibly because the bar area is tiny. They were out of two of the beers we requested and it is NOT a large beer list. They also only have a selection of 4 white wines and 4 red wines. The food menu is not large and all food is meant to be shared. We ordered two appetizers, guacamole and tuna. We then ordered two different taco selection and two tapas (small plate dish). Two hours later, we still had not been served our last small plate. The waitress asked us 3 times what we were still waiting for. The last time she came over, we just requested the check and left. Not only was the service slow and inexperienced, but the restaurant is SO loud. As we waited and waited for our food, it was difficult to even have a conversation without yelling. I can not recommend this restaurant even though the food was good. It was a frustrating experience overall. The servers around us were delivering the wrong things to the wrong tables and no diners seemed happy. One last note, the bathroom was a mess! They don’t have enough staff to properly run this place.
I was very disappointed with this new restaurant in town. I made reservations, but had to wait 30 minutes for a table. While waiting, my husband and I went to the bar, but there was nobody there to serve us. After 10 minutes of waiting, a waitress came and asked if we wanted to eat at the bar! No, we wanted a drink while we were for our table. Once we were seated, We ordered off and told.the waiter that I had a gluten allergy, but my husband did not. So, we were not sharing. My husband's food was served and I had to wait 30 minutes for my food. After 15 minutes we stopped our server and asked about my food. He said that they wait to bring the next dish out because tapas dishes are meant to be shared . I then had to explain that I cannot eat his food with my gluten allergy. The food was just alright. Needless to say, between the slow service and food, I will not be coming back
The food is delicious! Doesn't seem they are fully staffed yet since it seemed there was one waiter working the whole dining room. He did great under the circumstances. We weren't in a hurry and the drinks were awesome! Definitely going back!
Food was outstanding. The service seemed like they are still trying to figure out the flow. Only second well being open so that's ok. I look forward to going back in a few months when they have the kinks worked out.
The atmosphere was nice. Ceilings are elevated which enhances the volume of noise a little difficult to hear each others conversation. The restaurant looked very clean and modern.
The waitress seemed a bit confused. I asked for Riesling or Pinot grecio wine and she couldn't remember the names of the wine or if they carried either. I did not ask for a particular winery just the type of wine. She then came back and said they don't have either type and seemed to get lost for 10 minutes when asked for a diet coke. Perhaps it was the first time she ever was a waitress.
The food was latin infusion and was very good. I enjoyed the guacamole. It was served in 3 taco shells and was tasty along with a very pretty presentation.
I would go back again as this may have been opening jitters.
Great food served tapas style, so dishes come randomly. They have some new restaurant service issues but I still can't wait to go back. Limited bar selections but what we tried were really good.
