Really bad service despite the restaurant was empty
Terrific, as always. Excellent appetizers, delicious pasta dishes and yummy tiramisu, along with a nice Barolo wine. Top notch service. Don't miss it!!
Love This Place....Food is amazing
Staff is friendly
Sat outside. Delicious food. Sliced artichoke and parmesan delicious as was the mushroom ravioli. Super tiramisu. Go and enjoy!
we keep going back. Food, service is all excellent
You will not be disappointed
Perhaps cut backs lost
Them a chef? Got the special lobster bisque soup which had lobster shell pieces in it was not smoothly puréed and over salty. Told
The waiter I had lobster shell in my soup the pieces on the side of my bowl visible and he just said lobster bisque and took it away. Ordered pizza that came slightly undercooked dough light brown and falls apart
bc I could tell it wasn’t very clean to serve reusable menus that are visibly dirty with sticky food spots during a pandemic and not offering hand sanitizer is a bit scary probably won’t return heard it was one of
The best places in the city but it’s not today
Altesi Downtown is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Manhattan. We have been coming here for years way back to when it was callee Savore. The service is always exceptional and friendly. The food is fabulous and I have to comment on what an outstanding job the entire staff has done during these very trying times. Just a stupendous job! Highly recommend!!
Good drinks & food. Very fine service
recommended for a nice leisurely lunch or dinner
will go back
Realizing like most NYC restaurants they are struggling. It has been one of my favorites for nearly 20 years. Had 3 bloody Mary’s there were 3 diners. They were horrible and left unfinished. The Altesi antipasto was pieces of lobster and asparagus stems. I’ll let them get up and running before I bail on them
We've never been disappointed here. We weren't this time either...
We had a lovely meal. Dinner with my parents while visiting from away. We searched best Italian food in soho and this is what we found. Pasta was fantastic. Service was top notch with bread and drinks on the table in less than 5 mins. Staff was so sweet! We got tiramisu to share for desert and it’s the best I’ve ever had. To top it off, a man came to check how our dinner was and had a nice chat with us, turns out he is the owner. Excellent service, amazing food!
Freshly baked focaccia with the white bean spread is delicious! We also enjoyed the fresh artichoke salad with parmigiano and avocado. And of course, the fresh pasta with chanterelle mushrooms is my absolute favorite! Make sure you leave space for tiramisu - it’s the best in NYC!!! The staff is lovely and the ambiance is nice, too!
This is our favorite Italian eclectic restaurant downtown/Soho area. It is unpretentious- excellent dishes- love the Judeo-Roman- style artichoke dish starter; the endive pear and Gorgonzola salad; Branzino; and mushroom pasta.
Heimi our server was charming and attentive. The background music was lovely and for the atmosphere.
We will always return!
This was the perfect location for a friend's birthday party. They handled the large number of guests seamlessly and the food was absolutely delicious!
I was celebrating my birthday and had a great time. The food was delicious and the ambience was unbelievable. Great playlist and clientele (between 25-35). Highly recommend for a date night
food was amazing and the service was excellent. will definitely o back
Avoid not very good
Nice. Fancy pizzeria.
I take my granddaughter who is just 2 there for dinner often. She loves their pasta and I love everything on the menu. Staff couldn’t be nicer!❤️
Got together with friends for dinner. Ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu which had a good variety of choices. Everything was delicious and well portioned. We'll be going back for sure.
It’s just that the dishes were served so lately. But the flavors were OK
We enjoyed a wonderful menu as part of Restaurant Week. The food was delicious.
Lovely service , delicious food .
TERRIBLE service; terrible ambience; terrible noise level
Went to Altesi as part of restaurant week and had a great meal. Chose the meatballs, the pappardelle and the creme brûlée. Everything was exceptional and the service was super accommodating. I would definitely return!
Great restaurant!!! super good food and the ambiance was great! however the waiter did mess up my order when i clearly said out the meal that i had wanted and too almost 30 minutes out of our time waiting for the right meal! But when i got the meal it was amazing!!
There was a children’s party in the restaurant during brunch. It was noisy and chaotic. If the restaurant review/description had warned me it was ‘child friendly,’ I would have made a reservation somewhere else.
A really superior dining experience! We dine a lot in Soho & never went to Altesi before, not sure why, maybe it seems too formal from the outside? The other night, it was the only Italian option nearby at the hour we wanted to eat, so we went. We all had fish dishes & they, plus the various sides & garnishes, were extraordinary! Beautifully seasoned, a wonderful medley of flavors and the fishes were all grilled to a nice crisp on the outside and still moist & tender inside. The service was attentive & competent, not at all intrusive. The incongruous Spanish music being played was oddly festive & loud for some reason.
I've been a semi-regular here for 15 years and it is always a great experience. Food in consistently excellent. Service while always very good, was severely put to the test the first Friday of Restaurant Week. The place was jammed and they were understaffed but still everything went smoothly -- the true test of service.
Delicious homemade pasta! My 2 year old granddaughters restaurant of choice ❤️❤️❤️
Food and service was excellent.
very nice and accommodating staff! food was good. prices were also reasonable
I have been a regular at Altesi Downtown for the last 3 years - typically with a large party - and the staff there always delivers. Excellent food and service.
We enjoyed a perfectly prepared and delicious Thanksgiving meal at this excellent downtown Italian venue. The service, as usual, was exemplary.
We were greeted warmly at the door and good service continued throughput the meal. The menu is very inventive and also includes pizza which we saw on a nearby table. It looked thin, crispy and delicious. We ate from the regular menu and I had a delicious mixed grill of fish which was fresh and not over cooked. The price seemed fair too. All in all, a good evening.
Great place with a wonderful location. Fun to sit in the front when the windows are open and you can watch the hustle and bustle down spring street
Food was delicious, service was great but it was TOO LOUD and the choice of music was inappropriate for fine dining - techno that was super fast and super loud. Other than that it’s a good value for the neighborhood.
I loved it except for the noise level, but no worse than most NY restaurants
Terrible food, it’s a waste of prime real estate in a neighborhood with great food. Hardly would call it Italian, the pasta was far from hand made, not cooked well. When asked for olive for dipping bread, they gave us the olive oil you cook with - terribly smelly and definitely not appropriate to serve with bread. Never going back
Great food crap service
