The food was very tasty. My brother and I shared an artichokes-and avocado appetizer, and enjoyed it. I had the lasagna, which held its own, as did the tiramisu. The only problem seemed to be getting the attention of a waiter, which seemed to be resolved when I eventually resorted to asking for help from the bartender.
Pleasant local trattoria in Soho. Food well above average. Service friendly but distracted. Pasta courses are a strength, generously sized portions. Salmon entree was excellent. Excellent value.
As always, great food, good wines and friendly service.
We return often and always leave with the lovely sensation of having eaten a perfect meal in a warm and inviting place
The food was good, service was good. Not a restaurant that had anything over the top. Just a regular spot to have lunch or dinner. It was a quiet and pleasant experience.
One of the best Italian places I have ever visited. Lasagne, Cesar salad, mozzarella with tomatoes were the best. Delicious food, nice time spent
Excellent experience overall! Food was delicious, space was stylish and our waiter was super friendly! Would go back, and recommend to others.
Great lunch, very cute restaurant design, amazing pizza!
The food was DELICIOUS! The decor was great, service was excellent, I'm definitely glad I came. Highly recommend!!
I’ve eaten several times at Altesi on East 64th. The food and service were equally as good. The Spring Street dinning room was comfortable but the 64th Street room more spacious and quiet.
Altesi came through as usual. My neighborhood go to restaurant for a meal with friends.
Paulo and his team always provide Exceptional service and the food is absolutely amazing
Food was great but service felt a little too rushed
Excellent SOHO restaurant. Great food and service.
Has been on of my favorite restaurants sine we stated going there in 2002. Altesi Uptown is equally good
Thanksgiving at Altesi downtown excellent.
Excellent meal, with attentive service. Highly recommended.
Amazing food. Awful service. They charged us for water.
Very good food, personalized service, attentive waiter. The tagliatelle with lamb ragu was delicious.
a gracious gem with true Italian cuisine; an accomodating staff and the greatest focaccia ever!
Overpriced food for what it was, tables were rammed in too close to each other to the extent that other diners next to us laughed about it. Service was friendly but haphazard.
We had a great experience at Altesi Downtown and plan to return soon!
We took my sister visiting from Boston to Altesi a month ago. When she returned this past weekend with her husband, we asked her where she wanted to go. Altesi! She said. The food is terrific; the focaccia divine; tasty cocktails. The waiters are so friendly and the atmosphere cheerful and elegant without being stuffy. The best test of an Italian restaurant is the simplest thing, spaghetti with tomato sauce. Altesi's spaghetti chitarra is amazing. And that's just the benchmark. A pleasure.
Paolo the owner is very warm and friendly. The food is authentic Italian with other choices. Our table started with the salmon tartare and the calamari with zucchini appetizers. Then had the gnocchi, the spaghetti and the fettuccine with duck. Everything was delicious.
Another ok NYC restaurant. With so many choices, this one is a pass.
Great people, friendly, great food and wine.
Have been going to this restaurant for close to 18 years when it was Savore. Always a good meal, and a pleasant staff.
Great outdoor dining in SOHO. Pasta and fish were perfect and the sides were exceptional. Consistently good no matter what is ordered.
Great place to get a good meal after shopping or seeing a show. It was my daughter's birthday and she wanted Italian, I picked Altesi Downtown because the seasonal menu consist of foods she would enjoy and I was right. Both of my girls enjoyed the meal they ordered. Love this place.
My friends and I were very pleased with our meals at Altesi Downtown. I appreciated the vast selection in the Prixe Fixed Menu for Restaurant Week. The portions were appropriate however, I'd preferred that the dessert be bigger in size because it was so delicious. I just wish the happy hour prices were cheaper but other than that it was a great experience.
The food quality was terrible. My pasta and shrimp were over cooked. My waiter gave me a difficult time sending it back and taking it off the bill. I barley had 2 bites of my entree. I wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
This is my favorite restaurant! Just love dining there! Everything is always so good. The staff is always attentive and so courteous. It was my birthday and this was the place where I wanted to celebrate my special day! We had the grilled octopus, burrata, the pappardelle and gnocchi con melanzana arrosta and tiramisu . As always, every thing was delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Close the doors and windows and turn on the air conditioning! I couldn't finish my meal because of the flies.
There was about an hour and a half wait between the appetizers and the entrees. Wait staff started actively avoiding the table and hiding from us. While we were able to entertain our clients and keep everyone happy, some people had to leave before getting to eat their food.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t just not recommend this place, I would actively tell anyone looking to go here to find somewhere else.
Excellent place to enjoy a great meal in Soho! The food was excellent and ambiance very quaint! I’m glad I tried it will definitely recommend!
Fabulous service, great food and lively atmosphere. Owner Paolo is the quintessential host.
As former New Yorkers in town for our annual visit, we chose Altesi to celebrate our 45th anniversary. With all the options available in New York, Altesi's food and service is consistently excellent and one of our very favorite spots. We would have loved to have sat outside but it was a bit chilly. Otherwise, a great spot for people-watching.
The food here is great, but with so many options I’m not sure it’s worth dealing with the rude staff. The waiter could not answer basic menu questions and spoke very little English. We had to flag someone down for anything we needed including drink refills, again the food did not disappoint but there are so many options in the city that dealing with terrible service is not acceptable.
Another visit to Altesi Downtown and another perfect experience.
A bit overpriced this place is a good casual pit stop in Soho
