My wife, also a doctor, and I made a reservation to go to Alter House. The restaurant has been open for some time. We decided to try it last night, January 19, 2023. We were seated within a minute of the reservation time. Over the next 20 minutes, three servers, the hostess, and the food delivery person saw us and noticed that we have not been given water. They saw that we had closed our menus and had decided what we wanted. However, no one came to wait on us. In fact, several of the servers acted like we were beneath them. The last time I felt that way was when my family and I were in Ireland. At one of the restaurants in Ireland, they loved us until they heard our American accents. Then they looked and treated us like the dirt on their shoes. Our treatment from the staff at Alter House was similar. My wife and I think it is because we were wearing jeans, and they thought we did not have the money to dine there. After we left, the owner did call us. However, we politely refused to go back. We will probably not return. From there, we went to Olive Garden. The server was so amazing (Alana) that we left her a tip that was a little more than 100% of the bill amount.

Service started well. But that was it. My wife and I only had one drink as he never came back to see if we wanted another drink or more water. Our appetizer was really good as we shared a charcuterie board. But our dinners were really bad. I had the new york strip steak with blue cheese butter over garlic smashers. The steak had a ton of fat and a off-flavor only ate 1/4 of the steak. The garlic smashes were partially smashed potatoes with large chunks of potatoes and 2 cloves garlic in them. Only ate a few bites of that. Now my wife had chicken fricassee which had the same odd flavor as my steak did which turned her off completely. Again she only ate 1/4 of her meal. Once our waiter came back he asked if we wanted the food to go and we declined and that is when I got my refill of water! Needless to say, we were not pleased with tonight's dinner which is disappointing as we were looking forward to going.

We always look forward to a night out at The Alter House! Everyone who works there is always so kind, helpful, and friendly. The fact that you provide food options across the board for meat eaters and vegetarians/vegans is another favorite and the drinks are always delicious! Wait staff was friendly, well informed and well groomed. Restaurant is very attractive, clean and stylish. Menu is small, not many options and no specials. The salad consisted of about 5 leaves of lettuce. The vegetarian flatbread was honestly one of the worst meals I have ever had. The "roasted" vegetables were cut into large chunks and were still completely raw. I couldn't even stick a fork in them. It was only edible after I scraped all of the vegetables off the flatbread, and then it definitely wasn't worth the price I paid for it. Our daughter liked her sliders and french fries, and the desserts were good, although none of them appealed to my husband. The cocktails were probably the best part of the whole experience. Not sure if we will be back.

There were three of us for dinner. They served two of us our dinners, but the third meal did not come out. I had to find a server to ask where our 3rd person's meal was. After a short time our server advised that there was a "computer issue between her hand held and the kitchen" and the 3rd entree had not been submitted. We then waited an extremely long time for the 3rd entree to come out. We did our best to pick at our meals and wait, but by the time the 3rd finally came out ours were cold. While in the end they did take the cost of the 3rd meal off of the bill, it was amazing to us that no one noticed we were missing a meal until I found someone to tell. Overall this was not a very good experience.

Although we made our reservations, two months ago, we were placed in the overflow room with no ambience, and with a party of eight people next to us who are extremely loud so much so that we could not hear each other speak. The food was mediocre. My husband has a halibut that was very dry and small I had the beef tips which were good, but did not come with really any potatoes or vegetables. We were so looking forward to a great New Year’s Eve dinner, and came away, disappointed and knowing that we will never return.

Food was fine, but not memorable. Restaurant positions itself as 'farm to table' but really nothing in the entire experience would feel like "farm to table". No visible management presence.

The restaurant was really nice. The decor was really unique. I loved the wall of pothos vines! The drinks were amazing. Great seasonal options. I’m vegan, and they had really awesome vegan options, including a vegan nog-Tini. The food was fresh, and unique. Our sever Jeff was great and very attentive. Can’t wait to go back.

Alter House never fails to be spectacular. Every time I have a cocktail elsewhere I wish it was made by the beautiful artist behind the bar, Amanda. The Krampus Margarita was simply perfect. My pork chop couldn’t be more moist and flavorful and you won’t find an appetizer more delicious than the crab and Brie fries. Paxton from the kitchen was very patient and informative with questions regarding the menu and it’s always lovely to see Abby. Thank you to the lovely server Beck for a wonderful night!
