We had a reservation at 5:30. We waited at the host stand to be greeted for over 5 minutes. We were finally sat around 5:38, but no one ever came back to our table. At 6:05 we got up and left.
Great food, drinks, and service. What more can yo ask for?!
Everything was freshly prepared and made to order. Takes a little time but well worth the wait.
Lovely hotel restaurant with an excellent menu!
Amazing food and exceptional service!
Was really looking forward to this dinner but to be honest it really fell short. For the price and how pretty the place was I was expecting a meal that blew me away - instead it was almost hard to finish. We ordered three appetizers; the mussels, the smoked salmon and the burrata. Out of those three the only I would think about ordering again would be the mussels but even then I probably wouldn't. The "smoked" salmon was pretty flavorless and undercooked, the buratta was severely overpriced and almost insulted buratta by itself and everything was served with like an entire loaf of bread so pretty much our $95 dinner was for bread. Service was excellent and the location was great I just wish the food matched in quality.
We visited for Sunday brunch before a matinee play at Gammage. The food and service were excellent!
On the way to the airport and stopped in for a quick breakfast and a Bloody Mary. Great spot! Our waiter Luis was awesome!
Great food, able to watch the football game peripherally on the tv behind the bar, cocktails were delicious
10/10 would recommend!
Right at the edge of ASU campus, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet on Friday evening. Menu included spicy or mild choices, good variety and something for everybody within a dozen or so entree options.
Perfect stop before Gammage. A little more upscale with delicious food. The chef even checked to make sure we enjoyed our food.
Service was exceptional and the surroundings were opulent. This is off the lobby of the Hilton and the view from the roof (we went after dinner) was fun.
The service was delightful from everyone we encountered with. The food was delicious. Thank you.
I enjoyed this place and booked it because it had good previous reviews. The waiter was the bartender Raphel and he was awesome. The food was very good (5 stars) and it was priced right as well. This place is a must try for sure no disappointments.
Chef Ken Arneson is a master. And a showman! His vast knowledge of food and drink makes him a chef to trust with your tastebuds! Even if you aren’t adventurous, Chef Ken will never steer you wrong.
The event was Harry Potter themed, and perfectly done down to the last detail. Waitstaff was in costume, and pulled everything off without a hitch. Always friendly!
Valet parking is a nice touch, and the venue itself is just the right size.
Love this place! The food and service is amazing!
The food and experience was amazing!! We went during Sunday brunch when there was live music and it was so nice. It's located inside a hotel and the ambience and decor is so nice to look at, we had lots of fun sitting around taking pictures, food was delicious.
Went for my birthday and it was great! Ribs and chicken katsu were yum and loved the chocolate tres leches cake. Would definitely go again.
We had the worst service on a very limited brunch menu. I was surprised to see how many great reviews this place had. We had 2 tables leave around us because the servers were too busy talking with one another at the bar. After waiting 45 minutes to place our food order which we went up to the bar to do, the food took an additional 30 minutes. The restaurant was at ~30% capacity so there was no reason everything was so slow. On top of that, the menu is pricy. I ordered chicken and waffles for $20. The food was not good enough to be priced that high. I would avoid this place.
This place was amazing. The ambiance is a 10/10. The service is a 10/10. The food was great. I cannot remember the last time I went into a restaurant and left as happy as I did here! Amazing for all occasions or regular everyday dining. HIGHLY recommend.
Appetizers were the best! They were out of the lau lau, which I would have gotten. The pork in my pata entree was charred and I hardly could get a piece of it to eat. My boyfriend’s katsu was delicious! The value for restaurant week was good for what we got!
Food and service were both great! They were also very friendly to my dog, who was able to stay with us in the outdoor seating area! I would be back again!
My mother, husband, and I visited Alter Ego during Restaurant Week to try their special menu and I am so glad we did! My mother is extremely picky about her food but she enjoyed it so much that she raved about the broth that came with the crispy pata and jokingly wished that she could have a cup of it to bring home and enjoy. Our server, Javier, actually brought her two cups of it and she was thrilled! We enjoyed being able to watch our meal being prepared and the kitchen staff was friendly and so flawless in their performance. We had the Takoyaki, Fried Hearts of Palm and Broccolini appetizers and each one of them I would happily order again and again! We had the Lau Lau and Crispy Pata entrees and we devoured them with gusto! The noodles with the crispy pata were perfectly done, springy and with the perfect chewiness that should come with ramen! And the black cod in the Lau Lau was sweet and buttery and utterly moist. Again, I would be happy to order those dishes every time. The desserts were light and very refreshing, just perfect for the end of a perfect meal.
It’s a cool style, but they didn’t execute their recipes well. Great creative ideas, but just fell flat.
Great service. Interesting food. Nice space. The main problem here is the ice cubes. They taste horrible and mess up anything that includes them. Easy to fix: filter the water!!!
Picked the spot for Restaurant Week. Food and ambience was good but the service and the attention at the table was poor. Hardly saw the server. For the high tab for what we got, it was not worth the experience.
Awesome experience with the tequila school. Food and beverages were fantastic
Food and service is exemplary. Would go back again.
Rafael (server) never disappoints! Love his energy! Food was delish!
We had reservations on mothers day and arrived about 15 minutes prior. We were told to wait - however, most tables were open. We then were told that they had a special $65 per person brunch menu we were unaware of. When I asked further they said that we could get something off the regular menu if we ordered in the next 15 minutes. I said fine and then they seated us at a indoor table near the hostess stand. When I asked if we could move to the table next to us that was against the wall and not as close to others walking in, she said it was reserved. Of course I too had a reservation. We ordered and finally received the our breakfast with the wrong eggs on our skillet (they had switched our orders). They took it back and remade it. Once we finally got to eat the food was very good.
We went to an early dinner so we had the place almost to ourselves. We sat outside and they opened the garage style door next to us so we felt part of the bar area also. It was wonderful on the porch. We enjoyed our food and the waiter was really warm and welcoming. We went up to the rooftop after dinner for the sunset. Awesome evening.
We went out to celebrate my birthday. The waiter and manager were both wonderful and very polite. The specialty house-made ice cream was amazing.
Best decision EVER for Easter Brunch! The food and desserts were amazing, and our server: Rafael was such a joy!
Our server (Rafeal) I believe that was his name was fantastic. The atmosphere was great except the patio got very hot...maybe the misters would have helped or having some kind of shade come down two of us left burnt on the left side of our body from the sun beating down on us. The only other suggestion maybe would be for the servings to be smaller on the all you can eat brunch menu (the food was good, but different) so we wanted to try everything, but felt so wasteful. I went to a brunch place in Dallas that brings out a serving of every option for every person at the table this way everyone gets to try everything, but the portions aren’t unmanageable sizes. This may also allow the prices to be a tad cheaper.
Everything was excellent. The food was outstanding - both the pepperoni flatbread and the pear and apple salad with salmon. They were both well prepared and a little unique. Both the wine and beer were good compliments. Service was very good.
Service was slow and food was subpar
The interior is so cool, very photogenic. The live music was not too loud by any means and the singer Adam had a really nice voice. Our food was insanely good and we each got multiple drinks. Will definitely be coming back!!
Saturday brunch was very nice
Everything about our visit to Alter Ego was superb. Our waiter was immensely helpful in his suggestions and was very timely. Our drinks were tasty and on happy hour special! Every dish we had was incredibly flavorful from the guacamole to the white bean dip to the elote to the mesquite cauliflower to the gemelli pasta. We passed on dessert, but I have no doubt that it too would have been unique and flavorful. Parking appeared somewhat limited, but we arrived plenty early so had no problem finding parking ourselves. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
