Nestled alongside the Fox River, and including a full-service container bar, our patio comes alive 12 months out of the year with a heated seasonal enclosure during the winter months.

Looking to host a party? Our private dining room adjacent to the brew house is certain to bring together small to medium sized private events in a vibrant sit down or cocktail environment.

While our beer is certainly the front man of this band, the supporting musicians are excellent players! A full-service kitchen, wine and spirit program allows not just beer lovers but all to enjoy our carefully curated offerings. Great! This restaurant exceeded expectations with its delicious, well-seasoned food and warm, inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance made it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. A must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates quality dining.

Wings had a thick coating and no flavor. Water had something floating in it. Sprite soda tasted like it had something kind of cleaning solution in it. Would not go back. But the beer was cold.

We have eaten at Alter Brewing several times previously. The menu presents reasonable variety, especially with regard to starters. The BANG BANG CAULIFLOWER, was especially good and easy to share. The flatbread, Rueben sandwich and shrimp were enjoyed. I found the CHICKEN BACON CAESAR WRAP to be tasty but awkward to eat since it had not been rolled tightly. Service was okay given the fact that our server was dealing with 5=6 large tables. She checked in several times. Not sure what to think about restaurant prices these days. For two people ordering 1 beer, a soft drink, a flat bread, chicken wrap & a starter the bill with tip and tax came to $70. Seems a bit much to me. Perhaps I should adjust my expectations. Restaurant can be noisy.

The food was delicious. The only complaint was that my entree salad came out almost immediately, and my husband had to wait another 10 minutes for his wild game burger. I chose not to est until his food arrived.

We went for the Cinco de Mayo taco dinner event and it was awesome! We sat at a long table and met two new couples. Nobody had met before and it turned out we had so much in common. We had such a great time and the food and drinks were outstanding. Thanks!

Superior service with all requests promptly attended to. Server looked up points for us and applied them to our bill. Walleye entree delicious, thick filet portions, and did not taste like the oil it was fried in. Repeat patron. One in party looking for Porter beer but out of season from the main menu. Alter Lite good for those who want a light beer to accompany their tasty meal.

I'd still come back as my past experiences have been much better, but some real disappointments this time. The beer (we tried 6) tasted "off." The Czech pils was the best of the bunch but the rest seemed to have an infection-type off flavor. Not the clean taste profile I've tasted in the past, so wondering if there's a cleanliness issue at the brewery? My food was also not good. I had the mac and brisket, and at least half of the brisket was pure fat. I had a mountain of fat left on my plate at the end, and it wrecked my experience with the dish for sure. I'll go with my fave next time which is the patty melt. But if the beer is still off next time, I might be done. Too many other great options nearby.
