Altana Rooftop Lounge
Elevate your evening at Altana, our downtown destination for the luxury nightlife experience.
Beautiful atmosphere. Nice a quiet for dinner hour. Sat by windows and people-watched which was fun. Menu was lacking in variety and not a lot of gluten free options. When we asked for the GF pizza crust, we were told they ran out of them (Saturday night - I feel like they should be stocked). Both server and another woman were very apologetic and kind. Food was good but not amazing. And it took a LONG time to come out. And it wasn’t busy.
Cute place, interesting menu, it was quiet when we were there. Very nice experience. Quite reasonable
The restaurant is hard to locate once inside the building. There are no directional signs or indicators in the elevator. The atmosphere was cold and sterile. The owners need to think it through from a new customer perspective.
We sat down and no one came to the table to greet us or get a drink order for alittle while. The food tasted pretty good. The wine and cocktail I had were not that great. The service needs work. My husband didn’t have a fork to eat so we shared and but the time we got a second fork he was done eating. Then again the watriess took a long time to bring a second fork for dessert. We probably won’t go back.
We felt awkward coming into the restaurant. We had never been there and there was no one to greet us. We weren’t even sure if we should seat ourselves because menus were just sitting there. Finally a server greeted us, we told her we had reservations and we were seated. It was a Thursday evening, not crowded at all. We waited at least 10 minutes until we were asked if we wanted drinks. There was no water on the table. We were interested in the restaurant week menu we had seen online, and chose Altana based on the menu and the price. We were disappointed to find the menu was slightly different. Instead of lime salmon with watermelon salsa and coconut rice, they had salmon tortillas with watermelon salsa. They were served on a beautiful wooden platter that was messy and dripped down all over the table. I also saw another customer get juice on her blouse. The chicken was “OK”, nothing extraordinary. The service was inattentive and we felt like we were more of an inconvenience than customers. The management seemed very friendly. For the price, service, and food quality, there are many other restaurants in downtown Lancaster that would be far superior. We probably won’t go back.
Service was great as well as the food! Will definitely be back! 👍
Altana is not in the competition with great restaurants in Lancaster. They are a Friday and Saturday night band and dance club. They are well known for that venue. In addition, which is unusual, they serve outstanding small plates, appetizers and a limited menu on the rooftop lounge and in the dance area at very reasonable prices. A gem if you understand this.
This was my first time to this restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere food and excellent service. I will definitely be returning.
Will be back for tacos!
This is a bar, with bar food. Okay to grab something before the comedy show. But I wouldn't recommend it for a real dinner. The fact that I could make reservations online led me to believe it was an actual restaurant. But when we showed up we were sat at a bar table. The bar tender (aka... our server) was extremely friendly, and did her best at adding some class to the experience... But it's still a bar.
Had a great time at dinner and the comedy club! Looking forward to coming back!
Had such a nice evening! We will be back!
Had a lovely time on Saturday night!
It was a very nice location and watching the sunset over Lancaster was delightful .
If you’re looking for a nice outdoor spot but not in a rush or need frequent attention from staff this is the place. The location is perfect on a beautiful evening and the food is good but you have to be patient for drinks and food. The server was pleasant and doing her best as she was the only one but they Should have at least one more on when it’s a nice evening. Reviews about slow service go way back so I guess they don’t really care.
But for a leisurely light dinner or just drinks, it’s a good spot.
Beautiful day to enjoy brunch outside with delicious food and awesome ambiance.
Our second time there. First time was max stars. Service was horrible this time. Unfortunately we brought friends this time, after telling them how wonderful our first time was. We are chalking it up to a bad night. We will come back.
Food was fairly good, service was lacking. I think they were short-staffed, but we felt forgotten as soon as we were seated. The rooftop area has lovely views, but could use some decor. It's very sparse and minimalistic (maybe that's the look they're going for?). The inside is quite lovely, with lush furniture and eye-catching artwork. The food is nothing to write home about, but we did really enjoy the General Tso's Cauliflower.
Had a good dinner. Service was a little slow, I think they were short staffed. The staff was friendly though
Took my daughter for her birthday. Went to the wrong floor. The restaurant/bar are in two areas. Went to the bar area and waited for 10 minutes before someone who worked there stopped in and said that part didn't open until later and we needed to go to rooftop. Got their and were seated it was 15 minutes before someone took our order. Food was great but food process was really slow. Don't know if they need more help but seemed to have a staff shortage. Food was very good had several appetizers (tuna nachos, cheese board, lettuce wraps, and more). Didn't stay for desert didn't want to wait.
Server was very good. The peach and prosciutto pizza was disappointing as it listed grilled peaches which thenpizza did not have, it had a peach preserve on it instead. Flavor was good but not served they way it was described. The second Pizza that was ordered was brought out after most of us had finished eating so that person sat there waiting while we ate. Portion sizes were a little small but mostly the food tasted good. Limited menu options. Enjoyed the view from the roof top. May go back again, but not in a hurry to get back.
This is my second visit to Altana Rooftop. Both times, they had one waitress for the entire rooftop so service was very slow. I did not mind because it was a beautiful night and I had intended on staying several hours, but it would not be recommended for a quick bite. The cheese board is well worth the money and I could go there just for cheese and wine. All in all, I will go back and enjoy the view and the weather.
It was a pretty mediocre experience. Nothing wrong, but nothing special either. The food was pretty bland. Our server was nice.
The restaurant week menu was great!
Loved the atmosphere! Food was very good but they didn’t have their normal menu since it was restaurant week 2018 (select menu).
As long as you are NOT in a hurry for food and don’t mind just sitting and waiting, it is perfect. I was not in a hurry to go anywhere and I wasn’t starving so I was okay with the long wait. If you’re super hungry, do not go there I will definitely go back
Waited a long time to order drinks, 5 people got drinks one beer came 10 minutes later, Asked for water, took another 10 minutes. We needed to request napkins and silverware. Ordered another round of drinks and that took 15 minutes. When the food came 4 meals were cold. One good thing the manager did not charge us for drinks.
Ordered a meal that was not available “ran out of @
The Rooftop was a bit soggy - we actually weren't able to eat there as there were torrential rains that day. However they accommodated us in the 3rd floor dining room and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were the only people there (lots of flooding over the entire region) and we were treated royally.
Great views of Lancaster from the rooftop but after the beautiful sunset it was VERY dark and you couldn’t even see your menu or the person you were sitting with. It’s a good place to go for drinks if you aren’t in a hurry as it took 20 minutes to get our first drink and an average of 10-15 minutes for any drink after, which is a shame because their cocktails were really good.
Stephanie was awesome!
The staff was very friendly and the food was quite tasty as well as a great value during happy hour.
Greg was an excellent server. Food was awesome. Will definitely be back.
The small plates were delicious, healthy and so much variety. Love the view of the city. Only downside was the women at the table next to us were smoking.
Had a great time!
Reservation was at 7; we ordered shortly after. Waited an hour- our drinks came but no food. We left at that point, needing to get to a theatre by 8:15 (had shared this with the waitress but it seemed beyond her control). WOULD NOT TECOMMEND although views are beautiful
Had reservation for dinner -beautiful evening and view were the only positives - terrible service, waitress barely acknowledged us, ended up just having drinks and going next door to Annie Baileys and had great dinner on outside deck . Really a shame , place is so pretty
Greg did a great job even though he got swamped. Food was good and view/atmosphere was fantastic. Would love to check it out at night.
This was our first visit. The drink special of half price wine was great. We got the crab appetizer and that was good. Our entrees were not good. The Mac and cheese was flavorless and dry with some even drier chicken on top. The shrimp scampi was completely flavorless!!
We loved the setting and will go back for drinks, but will probably avoid eating dinner there.
The view of so many church steeples was gorgeous. Our waiter was good. He got rather busy and it took a while to get our food.
Last Friday was my first time there and I would definitely go back. The atmosphere was awesome and the live band was amazing! Service was a little slow but the food was delicious! I got to see the sunset from the rooftop of the restaurent and the view was breathtaking!
