Safety precautions were fantastic, service was great, the server was warm, friendly and knew the appropriate amount of time to return to the table. She made great wine and food suggestions. Food was amazing!
Love Alta Via! Our server Kayla was the best! The food is always amazing!
Amazing pastas. Fresh made with fantastic ingredients. Highly recommend!
The salads and pasta were delicious !
Once again, we had an amazing dinner. Delicious food, perfect service, and the best cocktails around. We love the blood orange Cosmo! Definitely our favorite place for an evening out.
Maureen (our server) was fabulous! Very friendly and down-to-earth. The food was delicious and the ability to choose portion sizes allowed us to try a variety of menu items. The creative cocktail menu rounded out our dining experience. Best dining out in a very long time!
Delicious Food and outstanding cocktails
The server and host were outstanding. Very knowledgeable, courteous and attentive. The cocktails were well made and tasty. Food presentation was lovely but nothing great about the taste or flavor. All good enough tasting, but nothing there 'wow'ed us. Despite great service, the food won't entice me back for another visit.
The Food was Great. Mushroom & Cheese App was super tasty.
Pasta with Crab Meat was really nice.
Service was Great.
Great experience, very Covid conscious restaurant 👍🏻👍🏻. Our waiter Nate was great! Food was spot on!
It’s decorated very nicely, server was great. You can tell they are taking Covid crisis seriously. But I expected to be wow’d by the food. It was good, for sure but really a tad underwhelming from the hype I have read. The Brussel sprout & green salads were excellent though.
Had calamari and short ribs/pasta. Both excellent. A little pricy, but we will be going back.
Great food. Limited menu (Covid) but it was delicious. Our waitress knew the menu well and was able to describe delicious options.
Had an excellent meal of salads a shared appetizer and two of their wonderful pasta dishes. (Gemelli for me and Mushroom Bolognese for my wife). Mary Kay, our waitress, was friendly, professional and unobtrusive knowing when to check in and when to leave us to our conversation. Desert and the latte and cappuccino my wife and I had were all excellent as well.
Absolutely delicious! Service was impeccable. Very enjoyable evening. Looking forward to dining there again.
We have been trying to get into Alta Via since it opened, this was our first visit. Our server was great, very friendly & knew the menu down to the last detail, in depth descriptions of the entrees. The beans and greens were unique, unlike others I’ve had, but in a good way, they were fantastic! My meal was excellent, the meatball entree. My husband had the seafood pasta entree, he thought it lacked flavor & there was very little crab. My friend said her pasta was a bit soggy. Her husband said the chicken parm was delicious. So, overall 50/50 on the food. We all said we would go back sometime to give it another try.
Just an amazing experience. The food was incredible, particularly the artichokes and pappardelle with short ribs. Our server, Wendy, really made the night for us. Even the background music was great. Two thumbs up.
Food was delicious. Server was attentive. Meals were served quickly.
Fun to sit in booth with friends
Just great food and service
Always a good spot !
Consistently Superb! High quality food from bread, tuna tartare salads and pasta and divine gelato! Even the freshly brewed decaf was delightful. Safe spacing and masked servers amidst low lighting and background music. House wine is superb at reasonable price! Can’t wait to return
Food is always good, steak is always perfectly cooked as ordered.
Staff is very friendly and always accommodating
We ordered a salmon dish and a spaghetti dish. Spaghetti dish was very good, flavorful and a good portion for the price. The Salmon dish was not so good, the Salmon was burned (almost blackened) and there was very little of the squash and other veg. As if they were running out.
Overall, we like the restaurant, the service is good and generally the food is good, though this time there was an issue with the one dish.
A little loud, perhaps turning down the music a little might help so people do not have to speak so loud to one another at their tables. We felt like we were dining with everyone in a cafeteria because I could hear everything everyone was saying.
Delicious meal! The Cocktails were amazing as well!
We enjoyed every moment, you had just opened after closing for covid and everything was great.
Great food and service to celebrate my birthday!
I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now, but since the pandemic it’s been closed, so I was excited when it finally opened back up and I was able to make reservation. It was such a cute little restaurant. Our waitress was great! She was really nice, and very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food. She answered all of our questions throughly and made the best suggestions! I didn’t catch her name, but the manager was also great! Again she was super knowledgeable about what we should order and what we would like and it was an all around great experience. We were basically treated like family there! I will be back very soon and I’ll be telling my friends!
Our guests were from Seattle and absolutely loved the variety of pastas and their quality.
We enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant In O’Hara. It is not your typical Pittsburgh restaurant. No wedding soup or fried zucchini — although I love both — but wonderful greens and beans and creative veggie dishes and salads are appealing. The menu is highlighted by fresh pasta dishes in side order or dinner sizes. I recommend the gemelli with jumbo lump crab and the spaghetti with crispy chicken and marinara. Service was friendly and atmosphere was very pleasant. We will return even though we live in the south hills!
Great experience- so glad we took the opportunity to go out to dinner!
It was honestly a huge disappointment. Our waitress, Wendy, was really abrupt and rude from the moment we sat down. We asked to order appetizers and she said not until our other guest arrived (he was running 10 minutes late) I don’t think she wanted to talk about the menu twice. But we just wanted to put an order in for two appetizers. Went over rules like a drill Sargent. Gave this whole speech about how she is in control of the food. Everyone in my party felt uncomfortable. When asked if we could order dessert (after 2.5 hours) she said, “wait till I clear the tables”... I just found the behavior really odd. Maybe she was having a bad day. I will say a few of the dishes were very good. The ricotta toast, cacio e Pepe, and gelato. But unfortunately we all said we would never go back due to our negative experience. We all love Eleven though, we will stick with the
Big Burrito groups other establishments.
Our evening began as we were welcomed in. One of our guests informed us that she had become ill, so she chose not to join us. So, the five our us, four cousins and my wife sat to enjoy dinner. And enjoy we did. Each of us had a different half plate of pasta and everyone was favorably impressed. We shared a romaine salad which was quite good.
But the highlight of the evening was the four gelatos that was delivered with a flourish to the table, along with the tiramisu. Delicious.
All in all, a great meal!
Great food & service, good to be back ! Safe environment.
It was fantastic.
We wanted to support the opening of Alta Via where we have dined before. The hot brussel sprout and cauliflower dish had sunflower seeds which were rancid, and which I pushed to the side. Dish not that flavorful.
My pasta with the meatballs was very good and cooked al dente the way I like it.
Nuts on the chocolate cake were also not as fresh as they could be. I always keep seeds and nuts in freezer or refrigerator since they go rancid within a few months. The chef must taste them before using.
Alta Via has taken steps to protect their guests. The food is always well prepared. Several of my favorites are no longer on the menu but I still had a delicious meal, ordering the Crab gemelli. Recommend ordering a salad and restaurant made pasta which you can't get just anywhere.
Outstanding food and service as always. A special shoutout to Emily — we were stuck in accident-related traffic on Route 28, and when we called to say we would be a little late, she was extremely nice and accommodating, even telling us to drive safely. Additionally, the restaurant appeared to follow COVID protocols very well. All staff had masks worn properly and the tables were well-spaced.
My wife loves Alta Via and we have been waiting for it to reopen. We've tried takeout a couple of times but we live almost an hour away so we'd rather just get the full experience. We went on Saturday night and everything was top notch. The table next to us was blocked off and it gave us a nice private feel for dinner. The food as always was wonderful and the only thing better might have been the staff.
Me and muh girl went here for date night and some pre Whoopi food. Pasta left her feeling full, frisky and well carbed for the evening ahead of us. I got the steak was pretty good. With good aps and delicious desert.
