Went for brunch here on a Sunday. Food was good, and it was hard to choose off the menu because of the varied options. Everything sounded delicious.
I ordered the proscuitto di parma with fig jam but they had run out of it. Chose truffle mac and cheese which was tasty. Short rib hash with poached eggs was cooked perfectly.

The staff seemed rushed and rushed us a few times. Not detailed oriented, and seem to do only their task. Was brought coffee but no milk or sugar, and no one asked if I wanted any. A bit abrupt. Not sure if it was because there was a private party going on. Would try again, the food is worth it.

I’ve enjoyed eating there in the past, but on this occasion I and others in our party were struck by how small the entree potions were. We don’t expect large portions, but the serving sizes we were given were exceedingly small for the price. Some of the items were good, or very good, while others were just okay. Service during the second half of our meal was very slow. Initially, we planned to order coffees and desert, but by the time the server returned to our table, so much time had elapsed that we had to request the check and leave.

The service was outstanding.
For us the food was a bit on the heavy side.
Cannot go often.

The location is nice, the food choices are limited and not very exciting, nothing special. Everything is fairly pricey, Pasta with a meat sauce at $23? Apps at $12-18? Been there, wouldn't go back.

Hadn't been there for a number of years and was somewhat disappointed. Food is decent but ambiance isn't that pleasant and somewhat noisy. Service is spotty. Mostly, everything seems a little overpriced for the portion size, the wines especially. Paid $54 for a bottle that retails typically for $14. I understand doubling the price, but this is way too much. Seems more like a place that is intent on making money in upscale Wellesley, rather than providing quality.

We had a nice brunch and were impressed with the menu. There were some takes on traditional brunch items as well as some non-traditional. Good diverse selection. Bloody Mary's were excellent but the orange Mimosa was a bit flat. Amazing bread. The only disappointment was the truffle mac and cheese app. It was lacking any type of sauce and was dry. I had a meatball app and just swabbed the noodles in the red sauce. In retrospect, I should have said something to the waiter. The setting and ambiance were great and the service attentive. I would go back, but be more selective about my order.

Alta Strada is our absolute favorite neighborhood restaurant, and we travel here from Framingham! We love their homemade pastas, fresh ricotta and burrata, and their prosciutto & fig jam app can't be beat! You must try their brunch, too!

I will. Never go there again In the evening. It was terribly noisy. But the food and service were quite good, so I'll stick to lunchtime meals. Maybe if they do something to the ceilings and/or the floor to soundproof the place, I'll try dinner again.

We have eaten here several times before and enjoyed the food. However, this time, the menu had been changed and the prices charged for what was actually served seemed universally exorbitant. $27 for half of one small chicken thigh in some tomatoes and capers with 5 thin stalks of asparagus. It was supposed to be an entree and it was barely what I would call an appetizer. It was tasty, but just too expensive for what it was. And that is the same for all of our meals. Not at all what you would expect with the price tag. We won't go back.

Food is fabulous. Been there three times and each time have had a different brain-dead waiter. This time the check arrived with charges for my table and the table behind me. And the clientele is not very attractive.

Our server was very good. Very attentive. Food was excellent. Had the Caesar salad, crispy meatballs, prime rib, fish and one of the pasta dishes. All were very flavorful. The pre-meal bread was exceptional. Desserts - cheesecake and make your own cookies were outstanding. When in Wellesley this is a must visit.

We've been to this restaurant and have always had great service and food. This time, however, it took 15 min. for someone to acknowledge we were seated. We always order the same drinks, vodka, rocks, splash of orange juice. It took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. It wasn't so busy that it should have taken this amount of time.

The food is always good, as are the drinks. The negative in this particular experience was that when the bill came, the charge was for "vodka drink - $10.00, orange juice - $2.00". This is a first for this restaurant, and it was at most, 1T of juice. Also for anchovies on the Caesar salad - $3.00. I don't know when they began to separate out the items, but it doesn't work for me.

When this restaurant opened we would go a couple of times each year and always loved it. Had not been here in several years and was disappointed with the food. My wife & I had different pasta dishes and felt they were both mediocre. Flavor was lacking in the sauces. Several other nearby Italian restaurants, including chains, are superior to Alta Strada. We will not be returning . This restaurant has gone downhill since its opening years ago.

The decor and ambience were nice. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered a Cesar salad ($11) and asked if I could have a Chicken Cesar Salad as it was not listed in the menu. This request was honored, but I was surprised when I got the bill that the small cold uncut whole piece of boneless chicken added to the dish doubled the price to $22 . The salad was not really that good and lettuce appeared to be just cheap iceberg that had a bit too much dressing and a few store bought croutons. My friend had a mushroom and onion pizza and bit into a hot pepper and some sort of meat (possibly sausage) that she was not expecting and it was unsettling. I noticed the pizza also appeared to get a greasy film on the top and looked very unappetizing after about 10-15 minutes of being served.

This is the second time in the past year that I have gone to this restaurant and have been disappointed both times. This is unfortunate as it was a nice restaurant when it first opened, but it appears as if the meals are sloppily prepared, but carry an expensive price.

I'll be honest. I hadn't been to Alta Strada for many years. Mostly because I didn't care for the menu. But when a group of family friends came into town, my daughter suggested Alta Strada because it was convenient. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. I had the bronzino. It was a fillet and among the best I've ever had. My daughter is gluten free and another member of our party had some pretty intense dietary requests. Both were graciously accommodated. Our reservation was on a Sunday at 5 pm and we stayed quite a bit longer than probably expected. And although the restaurant was packed when we left, we never felt rushed. I took off some points for noise level because there was a small wedding shower a few tables down, but it could have been worse. All in all an unexpected and very favorable experience. Alta Strada is now my " go to" restaurant in the Wellesley/ metro west area.

Our waitress was really informative about wines on the wine list as well as the menu. The food was really good. The prosciutto & fig appetizer was a large portion and delicious - definitely recommend. I'd say the pizza was a tad overpriced for the serving size, but it was tasty. Nice atmosphere (able to hear conversations at my table) and the Manager came around and said thank you as we were leaving, which was nice. We will go back!

Celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary here with our daughter and son-in-law - also celebrating that they're expecting our first grandchild. Excellent food, a different selection of Italian specialties than we're used to at local restaurants. The staff was welcoming and attentive, our server was knowledgeable and excellent. We felt taken care of, never rushed, and free to linger after we'd finished eating and the bill was paid. Although it's more expensive than we generally choose for a non-occasion meal out, I'm sure we'll return for other special occasions.
