The service and food were great. It definitely authentic Italian food. Can’t wait to return .
Yummy food, nice variety, and great service. What more can you ask for? The drink selection was different - lots of combinations that were quite tasty. Portion size was more than adequate (some would say "too big"), and the overall quality of the taste and food, in general, was excellent. If you like chicken parm, this is the place to get it.
Woman walked over (not our Evan our server for the night) .. poured our martini drinks and splashed us all while doing so. Clothing stained and wet... not good at all. We put our hands up and tried to back away... however was not attentive... mindful to any of our uncomfortable gestures. She was dismissive and short. When we brought it to Evans attention he didn't do much...he hesitated and then said he was sorry. It would have been nice for the manager to come over and communicate with us. The food was not wow! Would love to find a place that charges just as much but with great food. Chicken dry ... fries were soggy.
The Pest martini was wonderful! And the crispy eggplant appetizer was excellent, as was the service!
Took a break from the casino hububaloo for a nice, relaxing dinner with my wife — great food, friendly service (attentive but not rushing us along), and a fun change from the casino atmosphere.
Excellent everything. The Bolognese was amazon and bursting with flavor and there was no element on the plate that overpowered the great flavor so there was balance so if you want a pasta get the bolognese
Anniversary dinner. Unfortunately extremely slow service. Our anniversary was not even mentioned despite noting it in open table. Server practically ignored us for half the night. No offer for more drinks, no offer for more bread. Food was good, questionable to return based on service.
This was not our first dinner at Alta Strada, and we always enjoy the food and wine. And we do go to their wine tastings during the year. But, this time there was an extremely loud, large party of about 25 people in the main dining room which made it impossible to hear any conversation, or talk to anyone at my table. You could see by all the surrounding diners faces, they felt the same way. The restaurant should have put this party in the back of the restaurant, away from everyone else, so we could have ALL enjoyed our dining experience. We did not stay for coffee and dessert - it was NOT enjoyable at all.
Everything was Excellent as always! always happy to return! :) chef Domingo's Duck and cherry dish with homemade Papperdelle is my favorite!
I have been to Alta Strada about 8-10 times and this was by far my least favorite. I had made reservations via Open table and requested a table in the back and upon arriving was told there was a Paint night and we would have to be seated elsewhere. No problem - I prefer the back of the restaurant as it is a bit quieter than the front. Our waitress was probably the biggest issue. We have never had any issues with service prior to this occasion. I inquired about the 3 types of sangria and their flavor profiles (the menu read that they were made with fruit, liquor, and wine ...red, white and strawberry rose). The waitress explained that one was with red wine, one with white and one rose`...maybe she didn't realize it but I am able to read...what I was asking was the flavor...generally whites are peach based and reds are berry based.
She finally took our order, we asked if there were any specials...she said No, but then said there was a branzino special but kind of brushed it off. As she cleaned off another table, she walked past our and proceeded to drop the dishes all over the floor (accidents happen but it took the staff quite a while to come and clean it up).
The appetizers were mediocre...the burrata was not creamy and smooth...and the homemade ricotta was watery...The last few times I've been to Alta Strada I've gotten these 2 appetizers and this was bar far the worst I've had there. It was almost as if they had the B team working.
The saving grace was at the end of our meal the waitress brought over complimentary dessert to commemorate the occasion on which we were there celebrating...The chocolate tart was delicious but the chocolate cannoli tasted as if they forgot the sugar.
I love Alta Strada and I always advise people who inquire about eating at Foxwoods that Alta Strada is amazing...unfortunately this time I was let down. I will go back again and give them a chance, hoping that this occasion was just a fluke! We all have bad days!
We go here every time we go to Foxwoods, order the Bolognese and Maltagliatti, and are never disappointed. We can usually walk in and get a table, but were disappointed to find the place packed just before attending a concert in Fox Tower - good for them, bad for us. Now we always make reservations. The wine-by-the-glass options are generic but still good.
My husband and I went to Alta Strata for Sunday brunch. We went right when they opened at 10 so it wasn't crowded. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The brunch was delicious with a wide variety of foods. The ham at the carving station was moist and had a wonderful flavor. The scrambled eggs were creamy and the breakfast sausages were awesome. There is also a variety of cold vegetable dishes, yummy pastries and Italian desserts. It's a great place for a relaxing meal on a Sunday.
Great food excellent service!
A little pricey but food and service were great.
Loved the availability crescent-style booths, great dinner music, tasty food and excellent service.
We have been going here for years and they have changed their menu and took off a few of our favorites. Otherwise, It was ok. Same good service and ambiance.
Would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I ordered the meat well done. That's with absolutely no pink!! The manager brought it to me a second time and it was still pink. She told me the Chef could not and would not cook it anymore. Meanwhile my husband was done with his dinner. There was no ambiance. The food was over priced. Don't eat at this establishment. It's extremely a waste of time and money and the food sucks.
Service a little slow. Pricey for pasta plates
The service and atmosphere were great and we’re seated right away. We ordered the roasted beet salad, arugula salad, crispy eggplant and crispy meatballs. Salads, drinks and fresh crispy bread with basil olive oil were delicious. Have to say that both the crispy meatballs and crispy eggplant were just ok. Both really lacked flavor. I was pleasantly surprised with ice cream on a chocolate cookie since my husband mentioned in the reservation that it was my birthday. We would definitely go back.
Always a favorite when visiting Foxwoods. The eggplant tower, roasted cauliflower appetizers are excellent. I’ve had several pasta dishes also very good. The pizza and seafood are also a good choice. Great service, bar and ambiance.
Great food, quick and easy service, comfortable atmosphere
FOOD GOOD , BUT VERY OVERPRICED. WE ONCE LOVED THIS RESTAURANT, HOWEVER THE MENU HAS CHANCED!
THE RESTAURANT WAS ALWAYS PRICEY, HOWEVER CAN NOW BE CONSIDERED CLOSE TO A "RIPOFF"
Small portions over priced and was not offered the half bottle mentioned in the broucher we received from our hotel stay on Valentine's day. Overall disappointed.
The restaurant itself was clean, and ambiance was spot on. The down side to it was our waiter never brought our appetizer out and never came back to ask if we would have liked it to go either never mind apologize for the mess up. Instead of our original waiter coming back after the initial mess up another waiter brought the entree dishes and another checked up on us. Our original waiter did not come by at all until the very end to give us our bill...The food was sub par for the price....The only thing I will say was good is the gentleman who poured our water noticed immediately our table was unstable, and fixed it without hesitation.
It was a pretty good brunch buffet. Omelet and meatballs were excellent. The only thing that was really marginal was the chicken Parmesan and salad. Truly missed DC’s “everything bagel” brunch pizza.
Excellent Chicken on a Brick menu item. A must try.
When meatball appetizers described as "crunchy" actually are, you know you've hit on a winner. Accompanied by a spicy basil sauce, these were delicious. The fried calamari with their spicy marinara were so tasty and the bruschetta rounded out our excellent appetizer choices. For the entrees, two of us had the chicken parm based on the waiter's description (and it was delicious and I couldn't get enough of the marinara sauce). The portion is large so you might scale back on appetizers, or perhaps share a chicken parm. Others had tagliatelle bolognese and the in-house made pasta is a dream. The bolognese just enveloped the pasta and each bite was full flavored. After the meal we stayed awhile and just chatted over wine. The staff were terrific from start to finish. A lovely evening to be repeated.
Sausage pizza very good and enough for 2 if you get apps or salad. Crunchy meatballs were tasty. Bruschetta was just ok. Don’t order the red sangria unless you like it really sweet!!
One of my favorite restaurants very friendly staff and the food is delicious
We were seated and given water. Then we sat for almost a half hour before anyone took our drink order. It was a hostess that we flagged down and not even out waiter. My husband received the wrong wine anyway. When our waiter did show up, we just ordered appetizers then left. I was disappointed.
We have dined here several times and enjoy the food and that's why we keep coming back. So far everything thing we've tasted has been very satisfactory and we have already recommended this restaurant to other people.
Excellent service, wonderful food
This is the best restaurant in Foxwoods, Italian themed/sourced and right near the theater. My in laws were visiting for New Years this time & a snow storm made us an hr late. Dominique and the staff were so quick to provide us a delicious, comfortable wine/3 course meal quickly. We are grateful! Happy New Year!!
Food was excellent
Food was spectacular. The service however, subpar. Our server walked around the table and checked on every table except for ours, at least 5 times each table. Our drinks Sat on the table, empty and placed in open view, for over 20 minutes, while the server continued to disregard the table. After realizing she was not going to check on us, I had to call her over while she stood by an empty table. The tables around us all got their food walked over by her, despite arriving about 30-45 minutes after we had ordered, and our food had to be delivered by another server and the manager. Once the food was placed on our table, she realized that her manager was there and quickly walked over to ask us how the food was. With only having the food food .2 seconds, not really much we can say at that point. The following time she came to check on us was when all of our plates were empty and she came by with the dessert menu. Food 10/10. Server Rachel 1/10
Very good food and service. Excellent mushroom ravioli.
The servers were good the food was okay pretty expensive for what it was
Overpriced for food quality.
Very disappointed in the fact that no price was on the menu for adding salmon to a Caesar Salad. Got the bill and it was $35!!! Really???? The salad was only $14 - and quite small. OK, I guess I should have asked but that is just ridiculous. When I inquired with the manager, he said "they charge the price of the salmon entree and the waiter should have told us". Well, he didn't.
Chef Domingos papperadele w duck and cherry sauce is amazing!!
