Very good restaurant. Food fully met expectations. Had the starter of ahi tuna, octopus, salmon. Great. Server provided a good wine pairing for meal. Scallop entree and filet mignon were very good. Really enjoyed the meal and restaurant.

Can’t beat the atmosphere and ambiance if you like open, airy and bright. Our secondary waiter was engaging, welcoming and delightful our primary, though she was pleasant was not nearly… but all business. The food (Grouper & Lamb) was just ok. A bit to much salt on the fish and the mustard on the Lamb was obtrusive. Beet salad presentation was not a presentation just arugula spread on a plate with less than stellar chunks of two beet types. I actually liked the horseradish-like avocado. I asked for a small bowl or sample of pasta with marinara. Its an Italian restaurant that makes pasta in the front window as an attraction. Our primary waiter wouldn’t do it stating “we make it as a whole entree” no small portions. An Italian restaurant that won’t make you pasta is mind boggling to me. Because of that policy I’ll stay away. Maybe in a few more years they’ll be proud enough of their pasta and sauce to know that a sample leads to a purchase. Until that time I’m going to an Italian restaurant.

Dinner and service were exceptional! We started with the bread service which was delicious, although a lot for 2 people. If only 2 of you, ask for the olive oil on the side so you can take the leftovers home! My husband ordered the Escape Artist, a wine braised octopus, which was fabulous. I had the lobster cannelloni, and while it was a lot for one person, I ate every bite, it was delicious!! For dessert we shared the lemoncello cake, to which my husband said it was the best cake he'd ever had. For the quantity and quality of the food, prices are very reasonable! Highly recommend.

Went last night, and unfortunately my husband’s lobster was heavily undercooked. He ate a few bites and realized, so he got queasy and left the restaurant. After I pointed it out they offered to take it back and recook it. We paid and left.

4.5 Stars!! Wonderful experience at this sleek restaurant in Old Town St Augustine on the square. Nice to have quality food and service instead of tourist hangout quick food. Leaning on freshly made Italian pasta and seafood dishes with a few quality meat choices, the small menu has something for everyone. The frito misto and grilled Caesar salad was a super nice start and shareable. A whole grilled Branzino was our perfectly prepared main course with a melange of veggies and potatoes to round things out. Full bar and nice,though a bit pricey, wine list is available. Good attentive service. We are in StAugustine often and will surely be back. (Leave time to find parking unless your stay within walking distance).

We enjoyed another wonderful dining experience at our favorite restaurant in St. Augustine!. Our server, Ryan, was excellent in every respect (e.g, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient). The food — I had the Ribeye special and my spouse had the branzino - was delicious. We would highly recommend Alta Marea!

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely ambiance. The service was wonderful. We were treated as valued customers. The food was outstanding. Started with the bread service. Totally worth the price with a large and varied selection. I had the pasta with clams. My husband had the filet. We were both very happy with our choices. We finished with expresso and a lemon cake. I highly recommend Alta Marea.

Menu was misleading. Seafood risotto didn’t have calamari or octopus in the dish. When I asked I was told they were in the sauce. One quarter inch piece of calamari. Seemed, I annoyed the manager questioning the dish. Wait staff was very nice.

This was our second visit to this beautiful restaurant. Ryan was out server and was excellent! The restaurant decor is beautiful and the food was amazing. This will be a regular stop when we are in town. We highly recommend!

Food was excellent! Pricing fair for level of cuisine. We were dismayed by server - they were a bit standoffish - not very friendly. Just dropped our bill on the table as they walked by. Would not keep us from visiting again though.

Food was excellent. Service level didn’t quite match the price. Informed our server of my Shellfish allergy and she breezed right over it and I don’t believe it was flagged to the kitchen due to the state of my stomach post meal. If it is not possibly to avoid cross contamination this should be flagged immediately to the patron.

Beef tips and rigatoni with pasta was excellent. Pappardelle with wild bore was prepared very well. Drinks were served cold and within 5 minutes of order. Excellent wine selection. Service was courteous and very knowledgeable of each menu items.

Somewhat limited selection for non-seafood lovers, but the pasta lovers found it excellent. The "energetic" noise level toned down the music we liked during the rare times we could hear it, and made conversation challenging, but wouldn't deter us from going back again. Fun place.

I was greeted promptly and taken to my table. Great wine list and menu. I had the warm caprese salad which was deconstructed with roasted vine tomatoes, burrata, pesto and red pepper coulis.The flavors were good but did render a lot of liquid on the plate as tomatoes are very watery by nature. I also had the wild boar pappardelle which had raisins and chocolate. Again together the flavors were good but the raisins and melted milk chocolate were added at the top of the dish instead of being cooked in the sauce which rendered the dish sweet. Some raisins were bunched together on the plate. I had envisioned the chocolate adding a bitter note for complexity to the dish which wasn’t the case. The boar was a little dry. With some tweaks, this dish could be outstanding. Service wise, everyone was “nice” but my water glass was never refilled and my utensils were not properly put in place with each course. Atmosphere and location are great.

Overall very good. Food portions were small for the price but the flavor was amazing. Server Ryan very friendly and sociable. Negatives were ambience was none, just one large open room, not quiet or cozy. Also for the quality of food it was served luke warm. Not sure if we would go back..

Had Mother’s Day dinner here-Ryan was our waiter-he is the best! The food was seriously The best meal I’ve had in 20 years. I’m shocked at the caliber of food available in this city, but this restaurant is the crème de la crème for northern Italian. The service was perfect and everyone there is working together to make sure everyone is satisfied. Just a beautiful experience!

Overpriced. $30 for 2 people to split a Caesar salad. The filet mignon was a little fatty and looked more like a ny strip. Lastly, the di mare was good, but most of the clam shells were empty.
