Alta Calidad is located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn where Chef Akhtar Nawab is cooking innovative Mexican cuisine. The Spanish translation of "Alta Calidad" means "high quality" and it's our goal to provide that with every dish that we serve. Our goal is to cook with pride and integrity and have a lot of fun doing it!! We're thrilled to be part of this amazing Brooklyn community and we want each of you to join us and participate in this exciting adventure! Alta Calidad was recently awarded an NYC 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand.

We encourage you to secure indoor seating now by booking your reservation. Alta Calidad does not take reservations for its outdoor seating, instead it is offered on a first-come basis.     Had dinner with a girlfriend. The vibe was very chill, the plates are shareable so it’s easy to share everything. Staff was great and attentive. The food was amazing and at a really good price. Highly recommend

    We came because of the apparent ratings, but the food was not worth the price. My sissy and I ordered shrimp tacos, as the menu was limited, unlike a normal Mexican restaurant. The tacos were heavily battered and extremely greasy. Not to mention, our plates were messy on top and below, I guess from the cook’s hands. This was definitely a disappointment.

    Sat outside on Vanderbilt for brunch on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Food was phenomenal and staff was really lovely. Will definitely be back.

    100% would return. I reserved outdoor seating and they saved us a table in the covered area on the side street. Great food, delicious drinks, and attentive service.

    It was a bit loud. Not very intimate, tables are very close together. I had the beef brisket tacos. Food had good flavor. Tacos were a bit soggy. Hubby had the Octopus the rice was overcooked(mushy). Good flavors though. The drink were very good.

    It was ok. $18 for guacamole is insane. I got the tempura shrimp tacos and expected tempura batter, but it was that thick batter, not tempura batter. Why call it tempura batter if you're not going to use the tempura batter. It was super hot and super loud. I just didn't think the food and the cost were aligned.

    Just the absolute best, always. The elevated neighborhood joint. Crafted, creative Mexican with hints of other cuisines, never fails to impress. We always bring out of towners to this place and they are wowed. Favorites are the steak or brisket tacos, the octopus and pork belly, the corn, Fish tacos, queso fundido, guac… everything is good. Brunch, too - outstanding. Get the steak breakfast tacos.

    Was recommended to Alta Calidad by a friend & thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was very fresh & everything made in house. We had guacamole, roasted fish tacos, brisket tacos, Mexican corn & grilled asparagus, all excellent. The margaritas were great. Looking forward to going back & trying the rest of the menu!
