Great food and service. Elk tartare was really amazing as well as the as the salmon. Very attentive service too. Main con: the kitchen wasn't properly isolated so our clothes smelled really bad after dinner (like salmon to be more specific). They should improve that given the quality of the place.

The menu features different selections than you might find at other places but created to perfection and beautifully presented. Well worth the visit.

My family of 4 dined there on Canada Day. It was quiet considering it's a stat holiday. Food was mostly delicious and innovative. The onion soup was disappointing because it was too salty.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at Alta Bistro. As an appetizer, we ate the scallops and duck ham, which exceeded our expectations. Our entrees were the Salmon dish as well as the clams, mussels, and salami. Both were very good, my preference going towards the clams, mussels, and salami. The atmosphere was quite relaxing - a perfect place to unwind at the end of a long day with a glass of wine. The service was superb. I have a food allergy which is typically quite a hassle to deal with, however I have never received the care that I received at Alta Bistro. They replaced the ingredients I couldn't eat with other ingredients, and it didn't take away from the dish at all.

The food was great and the server was very friendly. He made recommendation of wine when we asked. There was a bit of wait for our entrees to come but it's acceptable. It's good that the restaurant was not too packed as we have a 9 months old and too noisy will make him over excited. He was happy to look around and we managed to finish in 1.5 hours to avoid him screaming!

Worst restaurant meal I have had in a very long time. Dishes sound good but execution was very poor. Confit of salmon ended up being a bland slop on the plate with a tasteless sabayon. The other diner felt the same. All of our other meals in Whistker have been very good and Wedensday night was amazing. This stood out as very very poor. The server was very nice. The place was empty.

We had choices from the $30 fixed prix menu which turned out to be a good deal. If I had one suggestion it would be to simplify things a bit - some of the dishes had too much going on and would have been improved by taking away some ingredients and focusing on the main point of the dish. The wine list is huge and would benefit from some explanation. Service was exemplary. All in all, I would go back to see what new things are on offer.
