A unique steakhouse & gin bar set in Glasgow Central Station, serving only the best quality steak & boasting one of the largest selection of Gin in the city.

Alston Bar & Beef, named after the long forgotten main street of Grahamston village, is located underneath the Gordon Street entrance of Glasgow Central Station. Follow the stairs down to Alston’s underground arches to a bar with Glasgow’s widest range of gin, each uniquely garnished & served to perfection.

Glaswegians are spoilt for choice when it comes to great places to eat & Alston aims to raise the bar for meat lovers even further by serving the top 1% of steak available. All our beef is carefully chosen from accredited farms from the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, each renowned for producing quality beef, full of flavour & tenderness.

                          All our Tweed valley steaks are hand selected by our east Lothian master butcher John Gilmour; he only picks the best limousine cross Aberdeen Angus cattle, which have been reared on grass & barley. The beef is then dry-aged on the bone for a minimum of 35 days which results in a tender and flavourful piece of meat. Served with double cooked chips, mash or salad & a choice of sauce

                                                                              Had the Sunday roast for 4 people 3 beef was nice other one said beef was chewy and that was pink . Next time would order one drink and drink there water as 10% service charged added to bill, great for a special occasion as setting of restaurant is different from the rest

                                                                              Food was delicious and great portion sizes even although we had the Set Menu, which was great value. Servers were really nice, polite and attentive. Restaurant was clean and welcoming. Nice clean toilets too. Hope to be back soon.

                                                                              Great service, it was obviously busy as Mother’s Day but not the servers fault at all. Steaks cooked to perfect temp. All food and drink delicious. Servers attentive and nice.

                                                                              Prebooked and ended up seated in the "bar area" as overbooked I believe , ordered drinks and food pretty much on arrival, drinks arrived, then just over an hour later told no veg available as a side, then since we waited so long to be served, over an hour by then, we were given a free drink and the services charges were removed, After all that we felt rushed to leave, e The staff could not be nicer, not their fault at all that management overbooked and let them struggle on.

                                                                              Great food, great service, great drinks. Got a bottle of prosseco on the house as it was our ruby anniversary. Only issue only 1 cubicle in ladies usable out of 3 let's this place down.

Me my partner and daughter drove up for food for mothers day and i cant fault anything . Service is brilliant , food is outstanding the only problem is there isnt an alston bar and beef in manchester . PLEASE OPEN UP AGAIN IN MANCHESTER !!!!
