   Made a reservation in advance. Received confirmation. Arrived 15 minutes early. Restaurant was CLOSED. Sign on door said, “No Alcohol.” Front door had a bag of garbage blocking the door. No call, email or notice that they were closed and couldn’t honor our reservation. Horrible experience.

   The food ordered was good but not exceptional. Appetizers were not warm enough but entrees were hot. No alcohol could be served that night for some reason which diminished the experience. Menu choices were ok for a bar as supplemental dining but not really suitable as a stand alone restaurant

   My husband and I were meeting an old friend who was visiting from out of town for dinner, so we made a reservation at Alpine. Although the reservation was confirmed, when we arrived the restaurant was closed. There was no communication, nothing on their website. We were just left standing there in the dark trying to pivot to a plan B.

   German food was good but not outstanding. Server was excellent and very attentive.

   Service has gone massively down hill. Found the waitress inside behind the bar on her phone while we had been sitting out in the dark with no service for a solid half hour. This is after the last time we went and sat for a half hour without being acknowledged. Alpine used to be so good but since the owner hasn’t been there lately, it’s gone so far downhill. We won’t be back again sadly.

   Not what I expected from past trip to Columbus. They share space with a Mexican restaurant and were out of pork schnitzel which is why I came

   Great smoked Old Fashion. Best veal schnitzel I've ever had. Waitperson/bartender provided great service. Only downside was that the air conditioning didn't keep up with heat. Will go back.

   Unfortunately, Alpine has changed their menu so much that they no longer serve the German cuisine they came to be known for. There’s no more schnitzel dinners on the menu at all, and it’s been replaced by pizza and burgers.
