   What’s happened to Alphington Social. I’d had the mushroom risotto last year which was divine. Unfortunately I didn’t check the menu and just ordered it again. When it came I thought it was a mistake as it was a creamy pale lack lustre mess with chicken. The veal schnitzel was tough and came with half a plate of creamy coleslaw. Even the sticky date pudding was rubbery. Everything was so bad we just had to laugh. We definitely won’t be going back

   I love the ambiance here. Still do. The owners have kept the vibe. Sadly the food wasn’t as flawless as it always used to be. And a new staff member, whilst trying their best and very pleasant, did not know what was or wasn’t available. Simple things like tea and coffee for example. Or just forgetting to action orders. More training would go astray. Despite this I still enjoy the place.

   Very good night with old friends. Food was good - fish was superb. Great menu with something for everyone. Good quality.

   On friends recommendation we tried the without expectation. Messy arrival incorrect order taken. Staff unsure how to find solution for transaction. The food, for full price $42steak it was dry and well over cooked. Roasted vegetables were undercooked and over oily, not eadable . Requested to swap out for an alternative like some salad was told by the waiter no . All in all what we were looking forward to was a massive let down.

   I love this place, but you should remember that it is great for pizza and pasta. Other food ( that we ordered ) was not good. Over cooked fatty meat and awful salad. Service was great though.

   We had to wait longer than expected for our food, and several other tables asked how much longer until their order arrived. One pizza was undercooked but the staff were very good about it, and gave us another fresh pizza, and that pizza order was for free (didn't pay for the undercooked or the fresh one). Once the food arrived it was very good, and it the venue has a lovely relaxed vibe. The music was in the background and the tables are set out so that it never becomes overcrowded. The cocktails and mocktails were excellent.

   Our first time eating here and we will be back! The food was delicious & generous. You must try the zucchini flowers & the Ragu. Great ambience. Good service. Give it a try if you haven't already.

   We have eaten here on a number of occasions and had a good experience. Unfortunately, on Valentine's evening our table of 8 did not enjoy the night. The plates and table were covered with some sort of film, maybe from the pizza oven, and the waitress would not give us clean plates., We had to wipe them down with our serviettes. We waited 40 min for our entree order to be taken, and the main was received 2 hours after arrival. The $60.00 bottle of wine was opened and placed in the cooler and not poured. The service was nonexistent, after the beers and wine were finished, we were not asked if we wanted another drink. To their credit, the warm beers were replaced with cold ones. Very disappointed
