The modern elegance of this restaurant is so warm and cozy. Food is spectacular! The bone marrow toast is by far the best taste I've ever had, most definitely a highly recommended must try, along with the bone in rib eye.

Another great night at Alpen Rose. Dave took excellent care of us and Jordan (hostess) made us feel welcomed and special. The food was spectacular. Don’t get the bacon - it will leave more for us!

While I praise the restaurant for its authentic look and feel and the creamed spinach and the mushrooms sides were some of the best I've ever had, the rest of the meal was not close to best ever. Service was excellent.

We are very excited to go to Alpine Rose to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday. The ambience of the restaurant is so cool. We wanted so badly to love it but our expectations are not met. We were a party of seven and our food came to the table and it was not hot. Everyone ordered steaks and while they were cooked well, they were hardly warm to the touch.

Alpen Rose was absolutely delicious - by far the best steakhouse I have visited in Philadelphia. The atmosphere was unique and the food was exquisite. It was a tad bit loud at times, but I chalk that up to it being a smaller, intimate space. I highly recommend checking this place out.

The gimmicky front door thing and no signage was a bit annoying. Space is tight and only one bathroom.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I had the bone-in NY. The cut at about 1 inch was not as thick as I expected but the taste made up for it. Temperature was perfect at medium rare. Service was great as was the overall ambience.

Amazing experience. Michael, our server, was excellent with the suggestions and perfectly paced the meal. The ribeye was succulent and the apple pie just the right amount of decadence. I can not wait to return.

Would have given it five stars, but our steak was much closer to well than medium! Next time I will order it medium-rare and hope for a better result. Everything was delicious.

Went for an anniversary dinner, lovely small space, attentive waitress, excellent Porterhouse, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes and grilled broccoli were very good sides- also appreciated the waitress telling us to use the delightful house sauces on anything we want. Judgment free zone in a $$$$ restaurant is my kind of place!

Great food, great service, definitely didnt think it was expensive for such a great experience. Know of much more "high class" spots in the city that aren't even on par with this establishment. DEFINITELY would recommend!

The place is absolutely gorgeous. It has a kingsmen ( movie ) feel to it , library feel with beautiful chandliers , cozy place but beautiful and romantic . Service and food was excellent. Chinas were beautiful. I had the Branzino which was perfectly cook and tasty .my husband had the dry aged boneless rib eye which was delicious and the house made steak sauces were fantastic. Our sides were creamed spinach and mashed potatoes both were delicious. For dessert we had baked Alaska which was a show stopper but for me it’s just ok . We ordered the chocolate cake to go and that was a very rich cake . Super yummy . We will definitely come back !

I would have given this restaurant a 5 star review except for one point. My husband asked about rye whiskey as that is what he drinks and was recommended this sazerac whiskey. Most whiskey he drinks range from 12-18 per drink and he would not even have questioned 25.00 but the bar tender and the waitress did not let him know it was 75.00 and he was shocked as he would not have ordered it. Did it taste good yes, was it also his fault for not asking yes, but knowing the cost he should have been told the actual cost which could have politely been done by stating , Sir the cost for that is 75.00 would you still like that or would you like another choice. Also to rec the mot expensive rye you have was thoughtless of them . Food and service were wonderful other then that. I would suggest sharing as potions way too large for one person.

Started with a glass of wine for me and an excellent Old Fashion for the Husband, next shared the prawns and this is a special dish, excellent and a must try if you dine here. I had the stuffed lobster which was quite good and the husband had the NY Strip which was excellent, also had the spinach which was good. Husband had the coconut cream pie and even though I don't like cream pies, it was excellent. Service was outstanding. A very nice experience.

Food was excellent, so were the cocktails. However, as is not unusual, the value on the wine list was appallingly bad. 5x retail on bottles before tax and tip is not ok. Problem is, the by the glass selection is no better and no worse than elsewhere.

Fantastic service from all. Food was very good, but wine is over priced and they lack mid-range bottles. Fine for business expense accounts, but will only be a very occasional-special occasion kind of place for most diners. Beautiful design like all Schulson/Tinari restaurants. Service leads way there, just outstanding.

I made a 5:15 reservation for a Tuesday about two weeks in advance. I went with my SO and we celebrated our anniversary. If you've never been before, Alpen Rose is next to Double Knot, with a locked door and a buzzer to get in. We were immediately greeted with a "Happy Anniversary" and seated right away. Our server was amazing! He gave us a tour of the menu and shared his recommendations. We started with complimentary champagne (a gift for our anniversary - so nice) and ordered the octopus salad and parkerhouse rolls (half and half). I am not an octopus fan, but the salad was delicious! Even the fingerling potatoes were delicious. We ordered a round of cocktails - No. 24 and No. 76 - both delicious! We split the 32 oz porterhouse with sides of the onion rings, potato wedges, and the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was easily my favorite of the three, which I was not expecting! The bread crumbs add an amazing layer of texture. The steak was incredible! It was cut from the bone table-side and the first bite was so tender and flavorful. We overheard someone saying they were going to use their rolls to make filet sandwiches and we stole the idea - SO good! The darker steak sauce was great on the sandwich. We were too full for dessert, but our server brought out small bite size treats for us with a sparkler! I am so excited to come back again.
