First visit. We all enjoyed and will return. Drinks are a bit pricey.
The place is absolutely gorgeous. It has a kingsmen ( movie ) feel to it , library feel with beautiful chandliers , cozy place but beautiful and romantic . Service and food was excellent. Chinas were beautiful. I had the Branzino which was perfectly cook and tasty .my husband had the dry aged boneless rib eye which was delicious and the house made steak sauces were fantastic. Our sides were creamed spinach and mashed potatoes both were delicious. For dessert we had baked Alaska which was a show stopper but for me it’s just ok . We ordered the chocolate cake to go and that was a very rich cake . Super yummy . We will definitely come back !
Fabulous food and service. Great atmosphere.
very nice experience
Wonderful experience and food we will be back !
Food was fantastic , serve staffs very attentive
One of my favorite places in PHL! Great environment and service. The food was amazing! Very private and stylish
The food and service was outstanding. The waitress was very informative about all the food. Loved the restaurant
I would have given this restaurant a 5 star review except for one point. My husband asked about rye whiskey as that is what he drinks and was recommended this sazerac whiskey. Most whiskey he drinks range from 12-18 per drink and he would not even have questioned 25.00 but the bar tender and the waitress did not let him know it was 75.00 and he was shocked as he would not have ordered it. Did it taste good yes, was it also his fault for not asking yes, but knowing the cost he should have been told the actual cost which could have politely been done by stating , Sir the cost for that is 75.00 would you still like that or would you like another choice. Also to rec the mot expensive rye you have was thoughtless of them . Food and service were wonderful other then that. I would suggest sharing as potions way too large for one person.
Started with a glass of wine for me and an excellent Old Fashion for the Husband, next shared the prawns and this is a special dish, excellent and a must try if you dine here. I had the stuffed lobster which was quite good and the husband had the NY Strip which was excellent, also had the spinach which was good. Husband had the coconut cream pie and even though I don't like cream pies, it was excellent. Service was outstanding. A very nice experience.
Amazing staff. We were sat a bit later than our reservation and they were amazing and helpful keeping us up to date on everything. The food and drinks were delicious. Would definitely go there again for a special occasion.
Food was excellent, so were the cocktails. However, as is not unusual, the value on the wine list was appallingly bad. 5x retail on bottles before tax and tip is not ok. Problem is, the by the glass selection is no better and no worse than elsewhere.
Fantastic service from all. Food was very good, but wine is over priced and they lack mid-range bottles. Fine for business expense accounts, but will only be a very occasional-special occasion kind of place for most diners. Beautiful design like all Schulson/Tinari restaurants. Service leads way there, just outstanding.
Wellington overcooked. Made good with desserts but the richness of the dish was lost. The ribeye was perfect as was the bone marrow and brocolli
Perfection - from start to finish. The service was specular - our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful with his recommendations. The food was outstanding.
I made a 5:15 reservation for a Tuesday about two weeks in advance. I went with my SO and we celebrated our anniversary. If you've never been before, Alpen Rose is next to Double Knot, with a locked door and a buzzer to get in. We were immediately greeted with a "Happy Anniversary" and seated right away. Our server was amazing! He gave us a tour of the menu and shared his recommendations. We started with complimentary champagne (a gift for our anniversary - so nice) and ordered the octopus salad and parkerhouse rolls (half and half). I am not an octopus fan, but the salad was delicious! Even the fingerling potatoes were delicious. We ordered a round of cocktails - No. 24 and No. 76 - both delicious! We split the 32 oz porterhouse with sides of the onion rings, potato wedges, and the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was easily my favorite of the three, which I was not expecting! The bread crumbs add an amazing layer of texture. The steak was incredible! It was cut from the bone table-side and the first bite was so tender and flavorful. We overheard someone saying they were going to use their rolls to make filet sandwiches and we stole the idea - SO good! The darker steak sauce was great on the sandwich. We were too full for dessert, but our server brought out small bite size treats for us with a sparkler! I am so excited to come back again.
Absolutely fantastic, 5 stars all around.
We had a wonderful meal at Alpen Rose on Sunday - the food was fantastic , the atmosphere was unlike any other steakhouse I've ever been to and the service was great (especially our waiter, Dave!). Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend!
Alpen Rose was such an experience! It quickly became one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Philly, its a must!
The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was so good and delicious.
Went with my wife for Valentine's Day. Service was excellent. I thought the bone-in ribeye was outstanding. My wife got the grass fed filet and she felt it was a little too salty. Both of our side dishes were under cooked, the roasted carrots and cauliflower, but they were removed from our final bill. I will definitely go back.
Alpen Rose is one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. The food is fantastic. The service is impeccable. The drinks are all great. Everything about Alpen Rose is amazing. I wish it was a little more affordable, so I could eat there all the time. It's a great place to go for special occasions. Probably better that way, so I don't go too often and have it lose its luster!
Wonderful meal. Loved the overall feel of the restaurant. Small, quaint, great dining experience.
Intimate setting, great food and drinks.
This restaurant is a true gem! Loved it. Went for Valentines Day with my husband and what a treat. The buzzer to get in with a section of the door opening to confirm your reservation was a treat. I felt like a celebrity. Cozy seats, warm setting, unbelievable service (loved our waiter Jonathan), and the food was absolutely amazing. It is pricey but it was a special night out and no pricier than the other steakhouses in the city. Hard to get a reservation but well worth it if you finally get one. I booked mine way in advance. Hope to go back one day soon. Definitely go - you will love it.
Amazing ambiance and amazing food.
delicious food, excellent service. definitely not a budget friendly outing, but worth it for a special occasion
Service was excellent. You feel like your dinning in someone’s study with crystal chandeliers, library books and eclectic mix and match dinnerware. From drinks, salad, Parker house rolls to sides, entrees(fish was excellent) and dessert(baked Alaska )everything was top notch! This 45 seat restaurant, was so much better than any of the larger steakhouses.
This restaurant. The food and service were superb!
Jonathan was an amazing server and really contributed to our overall experience. My husband and I have 3 small children and don't get to date much and we are super pleased with our date night experience at Alpen Rose. Also, amazing rolls. lmao
Have been patiently waiting to try this restaurant since it opened several months ago, well worth the wait!
Its ambiance alone takes you into a world of wonder. From when you first have to ring the door bell to enter, until the dessert cocktails after the perfect meal.
Me and my friend split a few of the recommended menu items, avocado salad, octopus, Boneless Dry Aged Ribeye(14oz), perfect to split SO MUCH, and the cauliflower and potato wedges.
Ran out of baked alaska, but Jonathan our waiter was able to find another special dessert for us :) Great service and amazing place to have a beautiful meal!
LOVED everything about our experience.
Jonathan, our server, was outstanding-very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Beef Wellington was fabulous as was the creamed spinach.
Any other rose by any other name wouldn't be as good as this. See you next month.
Had the best time with the ladies! The food was delicious and our waitress Christina was outstanding! She was super attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Highly recommend!
If you want a quite place this is not the place for you; however, if you can stand an obnoxious talker and or laugher in close proximity, then the steaks will not disappoint.
We had a terrific experience at Alpen Rose. We were seated at the bar and the food and service was excellent. We loved the decor and ambiance as well.
Excellent food in a very pleasant atmosphere. Service by Christina was excellent and mocktail was the best I ever had
Outstanding service. It felt like we were the only table in the restaurant, pampered. Definitely an excellent choice for a special occasion. The fact that steaks can be carved table side and shared made it more affordable than expected.
Best steakhouse ever!!! We enjoyed our entire meal. Highly recommend the bone marrow toast, grass fed fillet, & the baked Alaska. We will be back for sure!!!
