    Truly accessional. From the food to the service everything was perfect! I was lucky enough to go for their last service and had wish I could have been sooner. Had the pleasure to talk to the owner of Alouette/ Friendship Kitchen / Stem Wines Bar and they are changing Alouette concept to serve Vietnamese Singaporean food! I’m so excited to come back !!!! Love their food!

    Overall disappointment. Food was meh. Service was adequate but uninspired. Floor needed serious cleaning. Literally slippery from lack of cleaning. Won't be a repeat.

    Loved the peace and tranquility of being off 23rd. Very attentive and friendly team members. Both our appetizers and main dishes were excellent. Definitely has a lovely 'French Ambiance' which I was hoping for highly recommend.

    Great food. Lovely seasonal ingredients. Service was mediocre. Our server forget one of our appetizers and when we asked for it, it was already sold out by that time. Lots of other items were sold out by 7PM, which was disappointing but understandable. I appreciated that a different server stepped up and took over our table cause the original server was no where to be found. Would love to come back maybe on a weekday. Definitely get a reservation.

    The night we were there, there was also a wedding party there that must have had some sort of connection to the restaurant. They were drunk, loud and obnoxious. If you are going to have a wedding party in a restaurant, then close the restaurant to regular patrons. We waited an hour for food, could hardly carry on a conversation. All we wanted was a quiet early dinner to celebrate my birthday, we don’t get out as much these days. I could tell our server was embarrassed and she was doing her best. The food was excellent, but we won’t be back to a place that does not value customers.

    Alouette is a neighborhood favorite that's headed in the wrong direction. We've dined here frequently before, during and after the pandemic. Now this small bistro has vastly increased their prices, seemingly decreased their staffing, and offers a menu that misses the mark. We hope Alouette sorts out these issues and returns to the modest, friendly, and affordable place it once was.

    What a charming French restaurant! An absolute Gem! Loved everything about Alouette - the location in a NW neighborhood; the friendly, unpretentious service; the incredibly delicious food; and the quaint yet charming interior. I can't wait to go back and I just left! They have a very nice wine selection, and Thomas, our waiter, helped me pick out a glass based in my preferences. It was so good, I had three! Don't judge. We shared the heirloom carrots three ways over burrata as an appetizer and it was delicious. The carrots were roasted and carmelized and had so much flavor on their own. Served with a pesto on the side and over creamy burrata topped with fried carrot tops, this could easily have been a satisfying main course. Perfect for a vegetarian. For dinner I had the scallops. The three large scallops were sweet, carmelized and perfectly cooked. They melted in my mouth. Two were filling enough but no sense taking one home as they don't reheat well so I indulged. Served along side of puréed cauliflower and roasted broccolini, it was very filling and so satisfying. I could live off those scallops! My friend had the steak which was tender and delicious. The serving size was quite large and she took half home. It came with two slices of toasted baguette with chicken liver mousse which she loved. It was not crowded so we were able to take our time and even enjoy a post dinner glass of wine. We were never rushed; just the opposite, everyone on staff made us feel so welcomed. The menu changes frequently as they cook what's in season. They also serve brunch. They no longer have the Vietnamese influence that was courtesy of a different restaurant, but don't worry, everything is divine. Highly recommend for date night, dinner with friends or any permutation. Just go!

    Think we came on a bad night. Seated, but long wait for service and when it was time to order they were out of many dishes. Had to go somewhere else to get more food.

    Didn't honor our seating request, nor demonstrate any concern or willingness to accomodate, despite having the seating we desired 20 minutes later; with a limited, though excellent, menu selection they ran out of two items before 19h; and waiter/waitress did not pay attention to order requests. Overall, good food and drinks, but if you don't pay attention you may lose out due to bad service and poor attention to detail.

    i had a fantastic experience at alouette! the service was impeccable, great recommendations for drinks and staff was very attentive. the food was devine, i had the potato’s with the roe on it per recommendation from our server and the roe elevated the dish so much, still thinking about them days later! the trout was wonderful, cooked to perfection and the bread and butter was on point, so tasty!! will definitely be back!!

    Best French food I’ve had in a very long time. Each item we ordered was delicious. We had oysters, mussels, steelhead, duck and scallops. The wine pairings complimented our food. Couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Will be back soon!

    Food and environment was perfect. Service was friendly but arrival and timing of food brought to the table was sporadic. Of 3 diners, we each received our plates 3-5 min apart for one another so someone was always left waiting for others to finish/start their meal. With some coaching and simple questions the server should be able to pace the meal for all diners to enjoy their meal together.

    We have been there before and the food is excellent! We had a delicious baguette to share with our drinks (the Avalanche) and each had the sorrel sauced rainbow trout. Just delicious food well plated! A definite go to restaurant.

    Warm, welcoming staff and outstanding food made Alouette feel special and a stand out from others. Absolutely recommend. Can’t wait to go back! Only recommendation is to have the front door be wheelchair accessible, which still is not common to see with many PDX small restaurants.

    We went to Alouette, for my partner’s birthday, and had a great experience! From the delicious food, to the friendly service, we couldn’t have asked for a better time. Will definitely be returning, soon.

    We went on a Sunday and a reservation wasn’t needed (lots of open tables). The kitchen was out of 2 menu items and the one I ordered was bland. But the server was attentive and the drinks were good!

    16 hours ago NEW So disappointed. Meal not worth the price tag. We went here for our anniversary, in big part this decision was made because the whole menu except 3 things had a "gluten free" tag. My SO was so excited, as he has celiac and rarely gets to eat somewhere with more than one GF option. Only to find out that the 2 dishes he really wanted were sold out, and the one he settled on was NOT gluten free as the potato's are fried in the same oil that the other glutinous items on the menu are fried in. So he instead settled on the sides that didn't contain glute, which pretty much meant he got blended carrot mush instead of an actual side. Not only that, but we wait for over an hour for 2 entrées, with only 3 other tables in the whole restaurant occupied. I am also gluten free by choice so I don't risk hurting my SO, and the waiter waited to tell me my entrée was also contaminated until after the food already came! The drink menu was the only redeeming quality here. Also, the sauce for the Duck a L'orange made the whole meal inedible, so bitter and sour that you could not taste any of the food on the plate, the sauce is supposed to complement and bring out the flavor of the dish, not smother it until it's all consuming. Just so disheartened

    Came in to try their new Spring Viet/French menu with some friends and had a lovely time. Staff were courteous and incredibly helpful. My wife loves her wine so having owner/sommelier Wei En in to help her pick something was really above and beyond. Trang was very helpful to help us pick our food but we ended up getting everything anyway. Stand out dishes were the steak with Lúc lắc red wine reduction sauce, oysters with nước mắm, the Brussels sprouts with fish sauce and the banana creme brulee. Compliments to Jessica the new Vietnamese chef! As a Vietnamese Aussie it was really nice to see representation inside and outside of the kitchen! I highly recommend you come in for this menu before it goes away. I'll definitely be coming back!

    The brussel sprouts, scallops, and trout were outstanding. The service needs some improvement as we sat with empty glasses and needed to ask for share plates on a relatively quiet evening. Overall, the good will warrant a return trip.

    Nice space, food was disappointing. Nothing any of us felt would prompt us to visit again, service was friendly but not attentive, for example no share plates brought for shared appetizer and first course, empty glasses left on table with delivery of fresh beverages.

    Very little value in the food compared to the price. The 17$ Vietnamese crepe consisted of a thin, crispy, greasy crepe filled with beans sprouts and a table spoon of mushrooms served with one leaf of Romaine lettuce and fish sauce. By definition, carpaccio is a dish of meat or fish thinly sliced or pounded thin, and served raw. This meat was not raw and the dish resembled more of a Thai Laap salad. The Pho was also described to have raw steak and the meat was medium at best. I understand that the broth cooks at as it sits but I have never seen the meat this cooked by the time the dish arrives to the table. Our drinks were served after the appetizer arrived. One member in our party did not receive her drink. Server never check on our food or came back to offer us another round of drinks. This place potential but was a huge dissatisfaction. Online menu has an espresso martini - no espresso machine and bartenders could not make a coffee cocktail.

    Very helpful staff. Their cocktails are hard to describe, but try at least one. We had The Barrel and The Cobra. Lots of fun. I had what was a most unusual Steak Frites, but I loved it. Worth getting. It’s a blend of France & Vietnam. Unusual, unless you know their history.

    I came to this restaurant for the first time yesterday, and I loved it! The ambiance was beautiful and the customer service was wonderful! What really impressed me was how I’m loved the owners are, they were so pleasant and attentive. Rarely do I ever see the owners work and show up as hard as these two did. Incredible impressed with the environment and the food, yum!!!! Definitely will be back!

    Interesting menu, apparently they are upgrading the menu in the next week or so. Our dinners were very good they were out of a few things but our server made up for the missing items. The wine and drinks were very good.

    The food was delicious and both Amber and Courtney were wonderful. It became obvious very quickly that the manager hadn’t arrived on time, leaving the bar tender and one waitress (Amber and Courtney) to open and manage a full restaurant alone for over an hour. The manager is clearly not supporting the very hard working women who work front of house. Their service was excellent but they were set up to fail by management. If something doesn’t change, this restaurant will close.

    We had such an amazing brunch date!! This space is SUCH A VIBE!! 😍😍 So adorable and cozy! The food was bomb, my favorite was the sizzling beef! Our server was so kind and even gave us the recommendation of making the sizzling beef into a little sandwich with the yummy piece of bread that comes with it! (She was right, it made it even better!!) I can’t wait to go back for dinner soon!

    The food was mediocre and did not match menu descriptions. The entree portions for me and my dining partners were wildly different in size. The oysters were grotesquely large. The bathroom door was left open over and over and over and I could see directly in there from our poorly-positioned table. Sigh.
