Aloha Bar & Dining
An interesting venue but the food was overpriced and minimal One poor waitress for everybody doing drinks and food She worked really hard she worked really hard It was an expensive night with still room for dinner when we got home
Food was great and staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.
This experience was quite sad. Waitress’ service was passable but depressing, food was weird and sad with no seasoning and there was techno music playing at a Hawaiian themed rum bar? I don’t know what’s happened to Aloha Bar...
Service was poor- we ordered spring rolls and dumplings and waited over 45 mins for the dumplings to come only to be told after asking that they didn’t actually have any. Cocktail came out with flat soda or missing alcohol and we had to ask for it to be remade.
Wouldn’t recommend as overpriced for what we got.
Outstanding food, great price and great atmosphere.
We will be back
One of the most fun nights ever - not for the food or service or drinks, but because it was like a 2021 version of faulty towers and just fun.
The blonde female waitress was great. The ambiance of Karaoke was fun. The other patrons were bemused as we were.
Almost everything that makes a great night go bad could go wrong so we just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
Had a booking. Got the crappiest table in an almost empty place.
The bao buns were sort of stale, and hard and chewy. Maybe frozen? maybe microwaved?
Told we couldn’t have halloumi skewers but did get halloumi bao with skewers. Not quite sure what went on there.
Almost every second thing we ordered wasn’t available. So we just ended up ordering multiples of the same thing.
The actual food was pretty crappy. Like, never eat there again crappy.
We got delivered fresh cocktails about two mins after we began our first but not complimentary - just accidentally. Still had to buy them. I ordered the same drink, the two versions of it were radically different and neither really tasted like it’s namesake.
If this was for a special occasion, or a date night or anything that needed to be impressive I’d be upset. We were taking our business colleague out to show him Gold Coast and it was fun, but a bit of an embarrassment. Luckily he had a sense of humour.
rap music did not suit the tiki bar theme at all, unfortunately we did not receive our food after a long wait so left, we understood it was a very new chef but it was too long for 2 tacos and dumplings. The toilets where in desperate need of some attention and revamp
The food was over priced, not even a big selection of food. Took honestly an hour to get our first plate and another hour to get our second. Made us pay for everything on the spot after we ordered which I just found weird honestly. The service was just crap, I would not go back and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else
Went gin & jazz night and they had no gin specials and just karaoke and no jazz... FAIL
We were rushed with our guests arrival, and they took our second table even though part of our current group (those of us there on time) were sitting at this table. They told us there was people waiting outside and they needed the table back despite our booking. We then proceeded to see people leaving from the tables behind us and the whole time we were there that table was not filled. The short male staff member was immensely rude and continued to tell us he wasn’t holding our booking because there were other customers, he even moved our second table with people and our personal items on top. Meanwhile we ordered our drinks at 9:50 and they didn’t arrive til 10:20. Service was horrible, wouldn’t recommend to anyone for any sort of event.
Tacos were better than expected
Everything we ordered was tasty
My hubby and I went on the Jazz and gin night and had a great time. Such a nice place to go for drinks and snacks.
The tacos were decent when we got them. Each plate came out alone so only one person in our table of 7 was eating at a time. Then they ran out of tacos...on a taco night..like what.
Pretty average. Man waiting our table wasn’t very polite, rushed everything & just seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Was a bit of a let down for our first experience here. Food just wasn’t it & music could’ve been better. The place could use a bit more light as it is a bar & not a night club.
Dining experience was sub-par. Wrong dishes brought to the table. The poke bowl mains were exceptionally bland, while the dumplings were dry and off-tasting. Ambience and drinks were OK.
I really loved coming to Aloha, great place for a cocktail and drink. Having the aircon now makes for an even better night
Amazing Bao buns and tacos. Service was lovely and drinks were great
Amazing staff were so helpful and awesome quality food and drinks
Booked for 14 people 4 days Prior. Service was non existent. Took ages for someone to take the order. Went to the bar because it was taking so long and they said it was table service. then they run out of the ordered beer 15 minutes later. Took an hour and a half to get 2x rounds of drinks. It wasn't busy either. Was hot and stuffy. Pretty disappointing.
Enjoyed it so much! The complimentary chips were so yummy! Drinks were strong and music was outstanding
Awesome vibe, yummy food and cocktails.
Amazing service and drinks, I loved the music and the way the place was decorated. Got a free lei and chips when we arrived.
Went there for a work dinner, I always recommend aloha to friends. Went there excited to show my collegues instead meals took 2hr and half to come out and it was not well timed between meals. I was a little disappointed. Not equip for large crowd excuse was that the receipt didnt print all things ordered.
I would recommend for a dinner for a couple not a group since venue was able to keep up meals for 9 people.
Great hidden away venue. Fantastic atmosphere and very laid back. Great staff who are very helpful. Cocktails are so much fun. Food menu was nice just wish there were a few more options. Overall definitely great night out.
The tacos, very good deal, however they are not the classic ones, they are more like tostadas where the tortilla is fried and filled, but in overall good flavour
Made a dinner booking for 8pm, arrived at 7.50pm and were standing outside at the door for 10 minutes without being approached despite all the servers walking by. We went inside to enquire and were told to go back outside to scan the QR code, and when we told them we'd already scanned and made a booking, we were told to go back out anyway where we waited another 5 minutes before the same worker came back with an iPad to check our booking. He seemed surprise to see that we were now almost 10 minutes late for our booking thanks to the slow service, and were then rushed in and taken to a dirty bar table as all the dinner tables had been given away. No verbal communication, let alone an apology, was made at all. He just pointed at the table and walked off. We were left there sitting for 10 minutes and weren't approached again, so we just walked out and the workers just watched us and said nothing.
Great atmosphere and decor. Staff are super friendly, helpful and constantly working hard to make sure your night goes well. Also were very understanding and accomodating considering all this covid bs.
Food was unfortunately terrible. We ordered rice paper rolls, they were flovourless and had no filling. Very disappointing. They had no drink options with no sugar. Service was good, attentive wauters.
Aloha punch was amazing and service was great. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back!
Beautiful bar and amazing food. I wanted more.
The only thing is that, if you are going for a nice dinner asked to be seated away from the speaker as we were right under it and it was a little hard to hear what the others on my table were saying. Music was really good though 🙂
I’ll definitely be going back.
Very small serving size especially tacos
First time order food came half an hr later which was fine but then when we re ordered for more food, we waited for more than an hour.
Food is always great. However this is the second time you have forgotten part of our meal. I waited 40mins for dumplings to find out that they weren't even ordered due to 'technical issues'
I am reluctant to recommend Aloha to friends because of this. Which is a shame because the food is great
Taco Tuesday, good value for money. Nice atmosphere. Music was at a good level
Food was pretty yum, but servings are small for the price. Service was very average - lovely staff, but half the drinks came out before others (we were celebrating and wanted to do a 'toast' but had to wait 10 mins before everyone had a drink in their hand.) And then the same with the meals, half were served and then others were still 15 mins away. The music was incredibly loud, felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant.
your site let me book for wedneday. got there and they are not open on wednesdays.....so dont know what to say about the place
Love the ambiance but the food/cocktails/service were below parr.
I have been to Aloha Bar before so I booked it this time for my birthday as I knew it was a pretty chilled and relaxed place plus I loved the atmosphere. The food was amazing and their drink selection, especially their cocktails are to die for! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cool place to grab dinner or looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion. The staff will look after you well and you’ll have a great time.
We were placed right next to the loud speakers and it was impossible to hear and talk to each other - We asked to be move somewhere else but it was only the next seat across that was available. The service was okay, however we had to call out at least a few times just to get someones attention. Portion size was average - We did expect a little bit more for the Pork Belly and Rice for $20.... However food was still quite tasty.
I understand that Aloha is a bar that serves food, however when you can't hear the person sitting 2 feet away and you're 10m away from the speakers it becomes annoying. Wait staff appeared perplexed at our requests to turn music a little softer and we negotiated to be moved to a quieter part...near the front door.
Cocktails are well made and present well. Food consists of tasty bar snacks of wonton wrapper fried tacos, chicken skewers, poke bowls etc. All of which we had 12 months prior to our latest visit.
So if consistent food and beverages in a tiki styled bar is your thing...there are not that many tiki bars in SE QLD compared with the US....then this will suffice
Went for a girls night out, booked a nice table, had happy hour drinks and yummy snack Taco's, Was a good experience
